Lenore Avant, Realtor

I met Lenore through a couple who had used her as a buyer’s agent and had great reviews about her. I’m very glad to have also used her as my buying agent for my first home, over the course of about 8 months and many property viewings.
As you’ve probably guessed, Lenore is a very patient agent. She’s also very down-​to-​earth and has that old South Austin vibe (she’s been in the biz for like 3 decades). I don’t even remember how many homes we looked at, and Lenore’s advice was on target for each one. She’d tell me to walk away from a house, even if it meant more work for her down the line.
With Lenore’s advice, I actually ended up being the winning bidder and went under contract for all three homes that I pursued. Three for three — that’s an amazing score in this super-​hot Austin market. She was very helpful with how much to bid and how to tailor all the other contingencies so that we would come out ahead of the other buyers, but without getting into a ridiculous bidding war.
Unfortunately, the first two houses turned out to have severe structural issues upon closer inspection, and I backed out of them (with Lenore’s encouragement). The third house wasn’t as pretty, but Lenore told me to go for it because it had great guts — I ended up closing on that and feel very happy about it 6 months on.
As for Brian M’s 1-​star review below, what gives dude? Lenore is very professional, courteous and actually has great people-​skills. That review smells like a shill for a competitor, and an unprofessional review coming from someone with Unilocal Elite status.

lenore helped me buy my first house in 1991 and made the whole process really accessible and easy to understand for me as a first time buyer. i appreciated her patience and step by step explanation of the everything involved.
the past couple years she has showed the same patience as my husband and i have been casually searching once again to buy — she has never pressured us but followed our leads — and for this we are true fans and very appreciative.

Ms. Avant is perhaps one of the most unprofessional people I have ever encountered. I have dealt with tons of real estate agents, and I was unimpressed with Ms. Avant’s demeanor or people skills.
