Specialties

Well known in New York, New Orleans and Baton Rouge for its zany staff, creative specialty drinks and fun atmosphere, Lucy’s offers a kicked-back place where you can relax and enjoy live music, healthy food, great drinks and good company in our in-door/out-door environment every day of the week. As one of the largest bar/restaurants in downtown Austin, our West Coast surf-vibe venue accommodates up to 450 people with two patios (including a large AV/Movie projection area on our back deck), several bars, large stage and dance floor for live music, warm lighting, interesting nostalgia, and highly motivated, energetic staff to keep the party going into the wee hours. Check out our Main Menu for small parties, Catering Menu for parties larger than 20 people and our Canine Menu for regular Yappy Hours once a week. Be sure to follow our events calendar on Facebook (www.facebook.com/Lucysaustin/events) for regular updates about our live music schedule and regular special events.

History

Established in 1985.

Lucy’s first opened its doors at the corner of 84th & Columbus Ave (deep in Manhattan in the upper west side), New York City, far away from the nearest reef break. Owner Bruce Rampick, a native Southern Californian, joined forces with long-board riders, Kim Rampick and Bill Durkin, to open New York’s first «surfer bar» and restaurant.

The style was relaxed, the Mexi-Cali dishes hearty and fulfilling, and the drinks inspired by the ocean breezes and the crashing surf. From Santa Barbara to Baja, this was the food surfers were raised on, and grew to know as true Southern California «Surfer» food.

Today, you can experience Lucy’s laid-back, surfer-inspired digs right in in the heart of the warehouse district in downtown Austin.
