Johnny Rooter

I’ve never had a bad experience with them and in all but one case have they done things right the first time. In addition, their prices are reasonable and in many instances they are able to quickly dispatch someone to my house. Definitely a fan!

Johnny Rooter is the best. I own 2 businesses and a number of rental properties. Johnny Rooter is always fast, friendly and reasonably prices… and with warranties. Just off the top of my head… They have many fixed toilets, sinks, replaced on my water lines in my personal home, installed garbage disposal in my home, replaced 2 main sewage lines on two rental properties and much more. They are the first ones I call.

Let me start by saying that I don’t Unilocal.I use Unilocal often, but I’m one of those people who take but don’t give. That being said, I just had the best service call from Gerald and Coleman at Johnny Rooter and I want the world to know about it.
I had an issue with the diverter in my shower/​tub in my condo. Two other plumbers took a look and recommended replacing the faucet (which would have meant opening up the wall from my kitchen and shutting the water off to the entire condo complex — 34 grumpy neighbors in total). Gerald and Coleman from Johnny Rooter came to give their estimate for the work, but instead FIXED THE ISSUE IN 10 MINUTES.
Turns out it was a simple fix to the experienced eye. I’ll use Johnny Rooter for plumbing issues from now on.

Called them on a Saturday afternoon, my tenants couldn’t use any plumbing due to a drain clog. They had someone there in less than 2 hrs. William worked well with the tenants, & the bill was reasonable. Definitely will call them again.

Sent a plumber quickly on a Saturday to repair an broken pipe. About an hour after the plumber left we noticed water in the problem area, called them back and they came back quickly to check out the situation.
No leaking since, and they stand by their work.

Fantastic service. Excellent pricing. Just had them leave my place after initially calling them yesterday. They fixed three clogged sinks/​showers and fixed a leaking tub faucet, along with increasing the cold water pressure. Very reasonable. Very professional. Thank you, Johnny Rooter Plumbing!

Our shower had been slowly backing up for a few weeks, and it finally got so bad we had to call someone. Draino was not doing the trick! Will from Johnny Rooter came out the next day and thought that something had fallen down the drain and gotten stuck, and this was what was causing the clog, so he shot it down the pipe with his air gun. Hooray! Problem solved… until it wasn’t anymore.
Within a week, the shower started to back up again, and then the water from the bathroom sink started coming up through the shower drain. Uh, oh. We called Johnny Rooter again, and they had someone at the house within the hour. Turned out we really needed the rooter to flush this clog out. The first attempt with the airgun had simply pushed the clog further down the drain past where the shower and the sink plumbing comes together, hence the sink water coming up the shower drain. There was no charge for the second visit, and they had fixed the problem in under 10 minutes. I would totally recommend Johnny Rooter because they are fast, efficient, and genuinely care about keeping their customers happy.

Make sure you get Dennis! He was so nice and thoughtful. He took my kitchen sink nightmare and fixed it all right up. He explained what he was doing and why without talking down to me and he tested the drains at least twice to make sure there were NO leaks in the under cabinet. I felt like he really took the effort to take care of me and set me at ease. Thanks Dennis!

Johnny Rooter was my first and only call when I needed a kitchen drain unclogged. There was some confusion regarding would they call me or were they coming. No matter — by late morning, Cameron of Johnny Rooter showed up. In less than an hour he was done and problem solved! I will add that Cameron was professional and polite. A true gentleman.

They’ve been our plumbers for three years now. Used them for a bunch of stuff, installing new faucet, new toilets, unclogging sewer back up, removing limescale from tankless water heater, installing new water heater. No fuss no muss. Not cheap, but worth what they charge, in my opinion. $ 55 for service call and about $ 130/​hr labor. Just professionals. Love Tooter; he’s hilarious. Love Curtis, smart, professional. Thanks guys.

Called four plumbers on a Sunday. Johnny Rooter was the only one who called me back. John was busy, but got to me mid-​day, fixed my pipes, and charged a reasonable fee… for a Sunday. He was also polite and pleasant, and called before he came. As painless as plumbing can be.

Called Friday morning. The earliest available was Monday so I scheduled for then. Around 2 pm on Friday I received a call that a customer canceled and they offered me their spot. Ray and Colman came over soon after. Ray is a grizzled veteran with I think 65 years of experience… Not only did he fix my kitchen faucet, he spouted off some amazing wisdom like a Plumbing Jedi Master and even showed me how to fix the problem I was having so I could repair it myself if it happened again in the future. Thanks again guys. You rock!

Labor Day… and I all of the sudden have a steady flow of water dripping out of a light bulb in the ceiling of my garage. Electricity and water don’t mix, so I desperately started calling plumbers. I called about 25 plumbers… most didn’t answer their phones… and of the ones who did, nobody could come out for days. The one I found who would come out same day was charging an extra $ 200 surcharge because it was a holiday. Johnny Rooter was one of only 2 who would come out same day and not charge an extra surcharge. As a HUGE added bonus, the technician called me on his way and started asking me questions. Through the questions he asked, he realized that my issue was a leaky air conditioner pipe, not a plumbing issue, and said he didn’t want to charge me for coming out when they couldn’t fix an air conditioner. He didn’t have to ask those questions ahead of time and save me the trip fee and initial half hour fee, but he did, and I could have kissed him for it. I was able to get the air conditioning people out here and the problem was solved, just like he said. You can’t say enough for honest repair people so I will definitely have Johnny Rooter on my list of people to call if I ever need plumbing done!

I was recommended to Johnny Rooter by another local plumber who’s schedule was too hectic to book any new appointments. The receptionist answered right away, she was kind and courteous and she immediately knew what the issue was when I explained it to her. They are flexible with their hours and will work late nights if it is a time sensitive issue. I scheduled an appointment for the next day and they arrived even earlier than expected (and called ahead to make sure this was OK.) William took care of the issue and let me know what steps to take to ensure that it wouldn’t happen again in the future. He was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and the price was completely reasonable. I would absolutely recommend friends and family to use Johnny Rooter if they’re having a plumbing issue.

I am pleased with the prompt and effective service William provided for a clogged kitchen pipe/​drain. This is the second time Johnny Rooter has assisted us with satisfactory results. From experience with other plumbers, I think Johnny Rooter has more powerful equipment which makes unclogging difficult obstructions a good fit for their crew.

These guys are awesome. Called them before 8 a.m. with a clogged toilet and they were out by 10:15 a.m. $ 85 for the job and super professional, clean and fast.

I could get an appointment easily and quickly. The service was excellent; the technician that came to my home went above and beyond to get the job done and in inclement weather (having to climb the roof). He seemed very knowledgeable and took care to come up with the best solution. He said the owner of this business has been in Austin and in this industry for a long time, and cares about providing quality service. Judging by the service I received I believe him.

My shower decided to back up on a Friday morning. I went to Lowe’s and got some Draino. No success. I went back and got more Draino. No success. I decided to give it 24 hours to work. No success. I pulled out my drill driven snake. No success. Well, fuck. I started looking for a plumber.
After spending much of Friday evening and Saturday huffing Draino fumes, I realized I wasn’t the right man for the job. To Unilocal and the yellow pages I went. After many a call, quotes and screwing I found Johnny Rooters. By this time it was around 1400 on Sunday. Johnny Rooter offers 24 hour/​7 day service! That’s awesome! Everyone I was getting at this point was offering next day service at earliest.
Within 15 minutes of calling Johnny Rooter, Cameron called. He gave me a quote of $ 177. Ouch! But cheaper than $ 198 I was quoted from another company. Cameron told me he had two jobs in Pflugerville to do first and asked if that was ok. I said «sure, let’s go for it». I was fed up with my situation at this point and decided to take the hit on the quote. Cameron called me during his second job to give me an ETA which turned out to be around 45 minutes.
Cameron got to my house around 1730. I escorted him to the problem, and told him all that I had done to fix it. He politely explained the dilution of the Draino, which I hadn’t even considered and he told me why I was unable to snake it. «You gotta hold your snake at 45 degrees to get it past the trap and twist it a certain way». I swear I tried all that. I even tried the toilet plunger. I’m definitely not a plumber. Cameron says «let me go get my tools sir».
He comes back with his snake and drill in a 10 gal bucket. I’m thinking, «I know the problem now. His snake is bigger than mine». His drill was more powerful as well. Within 10 minutes Cameron had my drain unclogged and was rolling up his snake. I would use this service again, especially Cameron. He was one of the most polite, professional and knowledgeable servicemen I’ve encountered. I ended up getting a $ 10 off coupon making the total damages $ 167.50 for 10 minutes worth of work. I need to go to plumbing school.

Five stars for Will and the back office staff who got him to my door less than an hour after I called, frantic about what turned out to be a backed up main. Once he arrived, we couldn’t actually FIND the main, so Will hopped on the roof and threw a snake down the vent in order to clear the clog.
Will was courteous, professional, quick, and friendly, and the rates were beyond reasonable. Would call these guys again in a heartbeat.

We have had multiple plumbing issues at our spa/​fitness boutique. Toilet problems happen, I get it, but it somehow seems worse 50 feet from where we give facials, or when you can’t use the facilities right before you’ve gotta do burpees… and can’t. Bottom line: No bathrooms, no business.
Rooter came out to service an emergency yesterday and followed up today. My boss was freaking out a bit but they were understanding and patient, friendly and professional, and most importantly, got the job done. (Even better, we were only charged for one visit).
Won’t hesitate to call on this neighborhood talent again.
