So yummy! I love the Orange Creamsicle flavor and the Strawberry Lemonade flavor. And you don’t even need to get a gigantic one; a tiny or small is enough for one or two people.

What’s not to love about Water Ice, aside from the name? This Philadelphia treat delivers tasty goodness. I wish they didn’t close down in November. I’ve tried multiple flavors and still keep coming back to Strawberry Lemonade. It is delicious. Get it, eat it, now. Tiny or Small is all you ever need.

I should’ve gotten a «Tiny» or a «Small». I never knew how filling some ice and syrup could be. I got the Passionfruit and the Iced Tea Flavor. The Iced Tea is great. Very strong flavor, super yum. The girl working the shop was very polite and kind. She gave me plenty of samples to try. She was also very patient. My friend got the strawberry. That was also very tasty. Just be aware of the bums roaming around. They’re aggresive.

I was really kind of expecting Hawaiian-style shaved ice(my bad, I know it says Italian water ice!). It was really refreshing, but a bit too sweet for my taste. The tiny($ 1.50) was perfect for me. Service was prompt and friendly. This is a walk-up window, so don’t count on sitting down to enjoy your cool treat.

Awesome! And so good! My wife and I were only in austin for one day — during the nighttime, we finished our dinner up quickly around 9:10pm, so that we could make it over to jim jim’s before they closed at 10pm(according to the Unilocal page they were open until then). We got there and it was closed, with a sign that said they closed at 8pm! I was so disappointed. As we were walking away, we heard the door locks jiggling, and the door swung open — and a nice lady(maybe the owner?) popped out and asked if she could help us. We mentioned we were hoping to try it out, but they were closed and we mistakenly thought they would be open since the Unilocal page specifies they are open until 10pm. Amazingly — she took us in and made me a strawberry-mango water ice, it was amazing! really hits the spot during the hot austin night. Such kindness, and really made our night before we left austin. THANKYOU!!!

Black cherry all the way! The strawberry and banana is good too! I love this place. I won’t go anywhere else for a cold treat to cool off. If you haven’t tried it yet stop on by!

A refreshing and inexpensive treat to enjoy on a hot Texas afternoon! There is a pretty extensive selection of flavors ranging from mango and strawberry lemonade(the«best sellers») to horchata, black cherry, pineapple… And the list goes on. There is a «tiny» option for only $ 1.50(great for kids!) and they will even do half-and-half. With such a convenient location on 6th street wee found ourselves coming back several days in a row. Parking can be a bit difficult(parallel parking on the street, meters…) so it’s best to walk over if you can.

Two words: Mangoberry! Perfect pit stop for when you’re walking around sixth on a hot day and about to head to Lady Bird Lake. It’s a must for anyone visiting Austin. Most times I don’t prefer shaved ice because it tends to be too sweet, but their Mangoberry was a perfect amount of sweetness!

Being from 6 hours south of Austin, the rio grande valley, where there’s shaved ice stands in every corner, this place has the best quality shaved ice i have ever had. It’s finely shaved. There’s not ice chunks anywhere. The syrups are also delicious. I would definitely recommend this place any day. Texas has the weather for it ye around!

It was a super hot day in Austin and I had the city to myself. This was really close to my hotel and I wanted something to cool me off. This was the perfect fit. It’s located on a quiet street. There are lots of flavors of Italian ice. I got strawberry lemonade and passion fruit. I’m usually a lemon and strawberry/raspberry kind of girl. It wasn’t very tart(which is how I like it) but it was very sweet. I couldn’t finish it. But what else could you ask for on a hot night? Call for service with the buzzer!

If you’re looking for Hawaiian shave ice, it’s definitely not this but it’s a good treat to have when it’s 90+ outside.

Tasty frozen summer treat! Every flavor is delicious and refreshing. I love when they come to farmers markets and festivals and I love that they are at deep eddy now too! I do not like going to the downtown location– I don’t especially love that area and the parking sucks. But I love the actual product and since it’s widely available it’s fine.

Amazing!!! My love got a medium strawberry banana Italian ice with soft serve vanilla($ 5). I got a small blue raspberry($ 3). It was awesome. It’s about a block down from the sixth street chaos but worth it for the cold ice on a warm evening. The flavor is powerful but beware, blue raspberry will dye you mouth and lips blue.

Delicious Italian ice. I had the piña colada and my daughter had the strawberry lemonade. It is absolutely better than a sno-cone. Delicious!

Jim-Jim’s and I have crossed paths twice, and each time has been unforgettable. It’s a small, walk-up window with at least 20 different flavors of Italian ice. Our group tried about 6 flavors before we each made our pick. The ladies working were so sweet and didn’t mind how indecisive we were! The texture of the ice is perfect for savoring the sweet flavor you pick. My favorite by far is the horchata, and with crème it is out of this world! The strawberry lemonade is refreshing, along with the lemon flavor. I was not a fan of the dragon blood nor the mango. Stop by Jim-Jim’s for your light, refreshing dessert after that heavy dose of bbq meat!

This is NOT a snowcone. This is in a league of its own. The ice is shaved until it’s a fine powder, and is premixed with natural fruity goodness. I’m a huge coconut fan and the coconut flavor is amazing, as is the passion fruit and piña colada. Def. Have to stop by and get this treat after a long day walking the streets

I had gone to Bahama Bucks a day or so before coming here in Austin… And I’ll be back for this! It’s so much smoother, less big chunks of ice and the perfect amount of flavor. It looks like a hole in the wall and it is. Pretty cheap! You can add condensed milk in the middle for 50 cents more-obviously I was down with that. It’s so smooth it’s like soft serve almost!

Jim-Jim’s is the greatest thing ever to happen to 6th Street. As a kid, I frequented many-a Bar Mitzvah where Jim-Jim’s was present, and Jim-Jim’s also was in the mix when I first witnessed the greatness that was Leslie Cochran. Then, as a UT student, I got a job at the Segway place next door, and my Jim-Jim’s appreciation skyrocketed. After all, I wasn’t a RICH segway tour guide. And I was a poor college student. So working by Jim-Jim’s was perfect. Every hot summer day, if I hadn’t brought anything else to eat during my shift, I would feast on a tiny banana ice with cream along with a hot pretzel. The pretzel was $ 1! And the banana ice was $ 1.75! So I had a perfect lunch for under $ 3. Granted, it probably wasn’t enough calories to reeeeally count as a lunch, but regardless I always felt as though I’d totally lucked out. I know that Jim-Jim’s does catering, and they also run around town. You can find them at Deep Eddy, Barton Springs, and various summertime festivals and things. Jim-Jim’s means SUMMER, it means FRIENDSHIP, it means COMMUNITY… Jim-Jim’s is the greatest! Long live Jim-Jim’s!

Melt in my mouth good, literally! My friend suggested a mix of Cherry and Lemon. Great call. Get the small though. These sizes run large. Especially after dinner. You won’t be able to finish the large.
