Created with recycled materials, we are the only yogurt shop around that offers washable bowls and spoons for our dine in clients. We offer self-​serve frozen yogurt, fresh yogurt parfaits, floats, smoothies, coffee, frozen lemonade, mocha coffee and chai tea drinks. We are all about being healthy, artsy, fun, and green– everything that Austin is about!

History

Established in 2010.

BerryAustin was founded by Kathy Steele in 2010 with the encouragement of her yogurt-​loving family. After discovering the health benefits of frozen yogurt on a visit to California, Kathy returned to Austin enthusiastic about taking on a new challenge. Kathy’s vision was to bring her version of healthy frozen yogurt — with a decidedly Austin twist — to the community. With a background in Art and a passion for healthy food and recycling, Kathy combined her talents and interests to create BerryAustin. The first location, at 2222 and Balcones, opened in December 2010 and her second location, located at the base of the Austonian building, at Second street and Congress Avenue in downtown Austin opened on March 18, 2011.

Kathy Steele is a wife, a mother, an artist, a yogurt lover and the BerryAustin frozen yogurt business owner/​founder. She hates to throw stuff away that she knows will end up in a landfill, and has therefore made it her personal mission to reduce, reuse and creatively re-​purpose as much «stuff» as she possibly can. And while she’s at it, she’s going to make some delicious and healthy frozen yogurt to offer everyone that walks in the door at BerryAustin.
