Great cold brew, savory steel-cut oats, and comfy couches, outstanding. Less outstanding, the acoustic versions of the best hits of the 70s and 80s that was turned on midway through the afternoon while many people were studying or reading. Been here twice and will go back again when in the neighborhood.

Would have loved to try this place but when I got to the door at 5:15 pm, they had a sign up that said«No drinks served.» You’re a coffee place meaning you specialize in DRINKS… and you don’t close until 6:00 pm! Your loss is my gain. Sitting at «Once Over» across the street and loving my awesome mocha in their super cute and cozy coffee café. Giving you an extra star for ease of parking. And because it looks like you had potential to be a great coffee find. Maybe next time…

The product was great, the service was just SOSLOW. My friends and I wanted to grab coffee on our way to the dog park. We had to send someone back out to the car to sit with the dog because it took 35 minutes to get 3 espresso drinks. We finally got two, then it took another 10 minutes because the owner/espresso man kept getting distracted by customers and making more pots of coffee etc. He was incredibly nice. He was training a cashier and usually I’m happy to be patient, but this was craziness. Hope the new cashier helps speed things up! The décor is a little strip-mall-y, but it’s in a strip mall! What can ya do? The coffee is really quite good, though.

Stopped here for a mid morning cup of Joe and a bite. Great coffee and the empanadas were the best I’ve ever had. I will definitely be back!

If you’re looking for a great cappuccino, you’re better off going to Once Over across the street. Coffee isn’t made with much love here.

First things first… great coffee. The espresso is properly made, which is hard to find. THe owner was super helpful in recommending things, and helping me with the wifi. I even watched how nice he was to every single customer who came in. A+ for customer service. There were many snacks and deserts to try, but I never got around to it, so I will make sure and try one next weekend. The atmosphere is nice too. Lots of comfy couches, walls of windows, but there are also tables and bars(with many nearby outlets) to plug up your laptop and study. I definitely have found a new study spot…

Despite it being a commercialized location… I mean it’s an L shaped store-front covered in windows, it feels like it’s got some spirIt and soul in there. They claim«Fair Trade» which is cool, and great. I’ve tried samples of their baked goods which blew me away. There’s always a cheery man baking delicious looking empanadas and stuff. What i really wanna talk about is this one americano with steamed half and half I ordered September 18 at approx 3 pm. It’s one of those memories I will hold on to, and chase after for the rest of my adult life. I was flooded with really confusing feelings of lust and hysteria. That Americano was so good I thought about pouring it in the grass because I couldn’t emotionally tolerate how awesome it tasted. The witch who made it has short blonde hair, tattoos and a surface dermal piercing on her chest. They’ve come close to replicating that experience of coffee for me since then, but it’s a once in a coffee drinkers lifetime type of experience and it happened for me at Fair Bean.

The Americano drink is topnotch. But the best things are homemade tasting empanadas and Spanish tortilla wedges. The veggie sausage one is my favorite but the spinach mushroom empanada comes in a close second. They also have hard boiled eggs and other pastries. This place is unmatched in terms of food offerings.

I frequent Fair Bean, as do many of my co-workers, because the espresso is truly quality. In my opinion, they have the best latte around(arguably in Austin). The espresso is quality. I particularly love the espresso frappé, and I’ve never found anything like it anywhere else. It is NOT a frappuccino); It is the perfect blend of espresso with a little sweetness and finely blended ice. If the right person is making it(a lot of new baristas lately), the flavor and ice is perfectly blended until the very last drop. Seriously addicting. The environment is calm and one thing important to me is that it is not hoity-toity. You know what I’m saying… I feel like I go in a lot of coffee shops these days and am treated like I’m a nuisance because I want to purchase a cup. Not so at Fair Bean; the owner is kind and patient and treats the paying patrons with respect. And the prices are right! Also, the baked goods and empanadas are delicious! Only issue currently is there seems to be quite a bit of staff turnover, so the baristas are young, new, and learning on the job.

Here’s the deal with Fairbean. The food is AWESOME. Its my secret weapon. The empanada crusts are perfectly flakey, the fillings are out of this world. The Spanish tortilla brings me back to being in Spain, perfectly cooked and seasoned every time. The baked goods are delicious and super fresh. The owner takes coffee really seriously. The reason why this place is always dead is that its just not run very well. The staff is always confused. The tables are always a little dirty. There’s wall to wall windows and not enough AC or shade. The décor isn’t grungy enough to be Spider House, but not bright or modern enough to be Houndstooth. But if you want to skip the line for brunch, and eat some seriously good food in a quiet environment, this is the place.

Omg. So good. The owner(I’m assuming) is a little quirky but in a good pleasant way. You can tell he takes his coffee seriously. Place smells great, super clean and tidy I got a latte. Coffee was great. Rich, not bitter. Baby got a frozen hot chocolate and apple pecan coffee. He seeing the frozen hot chocolate was for the little one let them know to only put a little ice in it so she wouldn’t get brain freeze. Thought that was sweet. Definitely will go back.

Friendly and accommodating service with delicious cold brew and fair trade and organic hot brew options. I ordered the Toddy with steamed cold brew and milk. I asked for it cappuccino style with almond milk(I like foam!), the gentleman making the coffee said he would do his best but the cold brew may not froth well. It came out with a beautiful fluffy almond cloud on top! They also have baked goods and gluten free options. Everything fairly priced. Definitely recommend!

Do you like cold brewed coffee? Do you like it a lot? Do you like it even better when it’s NOT sour? Me, too! That’s why I like Fair Bean Coffee! I’ve been to a few places, lately, trying their cold brews on these muggy, non-Austin days, and I have to say that this is my favorite one so far! The cold brew is strong and slightly bitter, allowing it to stand up to very, very light touch-ups with sugar and half-and-half. When I drink cold brews that are sour, I have to mask that awful flavor, but not here! Their coffee is great! I recommend that you try the Toddy White Mocha! I did not have to sweeten it, it was subtly sweet, AND tasted JUST like a chocolate-covered espresso bean! I’m so glad to find a coffee shop that knows how to sweeten just to enhance the flavor! 10 out of 10, would drink.

Pros: –Coffee — Iced Weird Nut Latte –Food — any of the empanadas –Friendly and helpful workers –Manager/Owner, Andres, is always there making drinks/chatting with guests –Located right next to the 1st Street Food Truck park –Awesome natural lighting –Exceptional roasted bulk coffee –Homey environment, none of that elitist-coffee-goer feel you get at the more popular joints Cons: –Hours of operation aren’t ideal for late-night workers

FINALLY! The people who work at Fair Bean have rotated into a group who are actually nice to their customers! Excited to be able to go there again without wondering who is going to give me terrible customer service. Andres has been there everyday that I have gone and i see him helping everyday(though let the others make the lattes, they’ve got it down).

I cannot comment on Fairbean’s drinks because I’m not a coffee person BUT the vegan sausage empanada is AMAZING!!! The peanut butter, chocolate chip bread also makes my day! Get the empanada heated with salsa, you’ll love!

If I lived close enough I can imagine myself stopping here every morning for coffee and light breakfast. I would even take a bag home with me in case I just can’t make it one day. Although I would miss the delicious meat pilled pastries they have. I like to try various coffee shops when I’m in Austin, since Fort Worth doesn’t really have much. This one really stands out. Sure you can get a better«people watching» experience at other places. But when it comes to coffee, you can get a French Press for Two here. I’m also sure they would let you have it all to yourself if you wanted.

I would echo Tim Y.‘s review — always a good experience, never a fantastic one. I like that they have a selection of vegan products. I’m not vegan myself, but I had a vegan friend in town and was relieved that she was able to grab some breakfast here. They also provide red espresso & tea. My SO likes that they have an «express» option for people who JUST want a cup of drip coffee. No waiting in line! Just drop your cash in the box, get your coffee and go. Great space for hanging out or studying. Good selection of snacks. Good coffee.

I like Fair Bean. I’m not blown away by it, but I never have a bad experience there… so 4 stars. I think it’s a super comfortable place that takes coffee seriously. I love the selection of coffees that they have, and I have never had a weak or lacking iced americano there, which is what I always order. Their baked goods blow me away. The muffins straight out of the oven still on the tray is an incredible touch. Who doesn’t want THAT fresh of a muffin? I’m so used to coffee shops around town just allowing the muffins to sit in a cold case and need to be warmed up… here, they are as good as it gets. Seating is nice here. The couches in the are comfortable and nice. There are also a lot of plugs around, which is awesome if you’re going there to work. The location is nice as well. It has a pretty big parking lot and I have never had an issue getting a spot… I can’t knock it.
