Dunman Electric

Arrived late. Did the job, but left a mess afterwards. Meh.

Dunman were the ONLY electricians that I was able to find in my area to come out within a couple days. They were a couple hours late, but their expertise and friendliness quickly made up for that. They were able to identify the issue and fix in a timely manner. Will definitely use again!

Dunman Electric sent my wife and me and box of Omaha Steaks for the holiday! We were blown away by this level of customer service. They have earned back my business, and I will update my review after they complete my next project. Thanks!

Needed a pool pump and a switch hooked up for a pool installation at my house. The breaker panel was less than 3 feet from the pump location. The installation was very straight forward. I called Dunman because they were South. The person on the phone was very friendly and helpful. The technician was very friendly and helpful.
The problem arose when two electricians showed up for the installation, the installation took about 2 hours. The cost was just under $ 500. I’m all for paying for quality service, but $ 500 per hour is usury in my opinion.

It took some time to get an estimate from them and several phone calls to actually finally get my estimate, but because it took so long, I was offered a discount. Which made up for it. The service on day of the project was good, my electrician was a great guy and easy to work with. The owner was very nice and helpful too.

I wouldn’t recommend this company unless you have «deep pockets». They sent two electricians out to find out why my storage shed had no electricity. After testing I was told squirrels or rats probably ate through the wiring and it would take an undeterminable number of hours to find the break. Since I am on a fixed income I said to forget it as I don’t use the shed that much. Six months later another electrician looks for the problem and finds the breaker turned off! Go figure as to how that happened. It now works perfectly since the breaker has been turned on.

Made an appointment last week and was told everything was confirmed at they would call me when they were on the way. One and a half hours into my window I called them to check on arrival only to discover they hadn’t scheduled my appointment and no idea about it. Very unprofessional first impression. Will definitely skip in the future.

Here is what dunman sent me after they sent a install team to my building 1 hour early! It’s abrasively insulting! ABSOLUTELY AVOID!!!
You were advised that this would be at time and material as well as we discussed the hourly rates. We were not able to reach you
when we attempted to run this call yesterday AM. (ME: Front desk was instructed to let up 1 person to give an estimate, NOT a crew of installers 1 hour early)
Our company schedules approx 2– 3 weeks in advance and we have several customers that could have taken this time slot that we extended to you.
We did not speak to you again so I am uncertain as to how you knew
that the gentleman coming was not an estimator (other than knowing our initial phone call had no mention of setting up only an estimate.)Based
on our attempts to take care of you yesterday and it being turned around like we are crazy for assuming you actually wanted us to do what you
requested, we do not wish to proceed with a bid at this time.
We have been stood up once for this work I do not wish to send an estimator at this time!

When my house was inspected, I was informed that I needed to have my gas line bonded. I was not sure how much this type of thing would cost. It really sounded expensive, but I also did not want the house to blow up, so I decided to call an electrician. I couldn’t even get a return phone call from most of the companies I called. Very frustrating. Dunman Electric came to my rescue. They called me back within minutes of my call. The lady who answers is pleasant and knowledgeable. I’m used to most receptionists being clueless, so this was a great impression. I got my appointment for the day I needed and I met Craig. He arrived right on time. He was also considerate of the fact that I had to leave for an appointment shortly after, so he worked quickly. I like to know about the work that is done on my home. Since I don’t have much knowledge in electronics, I had a lot of questions for Craig. He was so patient and was happy to oblige my curiosity about the work he was doing and other things that were off topic. Before he left, I asked him for an estimate on putting up security lighting for the house, which he was again more than happy to do. He quoted me a good price for 2 lights and wrote it on the back of his card and initialed it, so that I could have it for future reference. The gas line was bonded in less than 45 minutes, the price was half of what I expected, and I made it to my appointment on time. Looks like I have a new electrician. No complaints about this company from me. I received A-​1 service.

In my opinion, Dunman Electric took advantage of the fact that I was selling my house and way over charged me for the work they performed. The work was done well, but the bill was 3x what I was expecting!
The owner was extremely rude to deal with when I called to discuss the bill.

Do not use them for network cabling
They sent electricians, not network guy, to network ethernet at our house. The technicians are clueless how Ethernet routing works and thought that if you tape wire of port A to wire of port B, Ethernet will flow through like electricity does and don’t know that will require a router!
Then the technicians left the job unfinished and still charge us $ 600 for it!
Oh btw, my work order included wiring the surround sound speakers and guess what the technicians say «just get wireless speakers»

Craig is a class act. I came back from vacation with an odd outage… half the house had electricity and the other half didn’t. But no tripped breakers or sign of trouble at the box.
I called up on a Sunday and left a message. I got a call in about 30 minutes to arrange a visit and Craig showed up shortly thereafter. You pay a premium for a weekend call (I expected that on a Sunday) but many places aren’t even open so I happily paid it to get power back.
Craig was here a few minutes, we discusses some details and after 2 minutes on a ladder he found the problem. A few parts and some work and we were back in business. What impressed me is that he knew exactly where to look after our Q&A.
What I want out of an electrician is promptness, expertise, and integrity. I would happily use Dunman again based on this experience.

We received great service with Dunman. Craig is the owner and master electrician. He’s very skilled and honest. His prices are competitive and he provides good quality work. His wife, Becky, answers the phones and handles scheduling. She’s a pleasure to work with!
We used Dunman on the recommendation of a friend and were very satisfied with the work: recessed lighting in the living room, a couple of exhaust fans, and a couple of new outlets. The recessed lighting installation was tricky but the results are great!
