I got married two weeks ago and have been thinking about that wedding cake every day. Paloma’s cake was DELICIOUS and decorated exactly as we requested. It was so good that we ran out of forks and people were eating the cake with spoons/​their hands. We didn’t have any left over (but she makes a fresh anniversary cake a year after your wedding, so it’s okay).
She offered us plenty of cake and frosting types to try when we came in for cake tasting, some of them pretty exotic, and she made the top tier gluten-​free for me. I found her to be really flexible and professional, and will probably ask her to do a cake for our next big occasion.

Coco Paloma was wonderful from beginning to last bite. Her communication and tasting facilitation made this process so easy. Her cakes are magnificent as well. Our cake and cup cakes were beautiful to the eye and tasted great! People were raving about them after our wedding. She is the only baker we’ll use in Austin.

I contacted Paloma to make a cake for my mom’s birthday celebration. It was a request for a cake in the shape of a cello. She was timely in her responses and very professional. Since I live in Houston, I spoke on the phone with her and emailed her about the cakes, which worked out well.
The cello cake was truly amazing! She had painted the cake with such beauty, it looked like real wood. Her attention to the other details on the cello cake was superb as well. There are many components to a cello, and she constructed each detail masterfully. Everyone at the party did a double-​take at the cake since they didn’t think it was a cake! Her work on this cello cake was stunning and well worth the money. My mom loved it! The guests really enjoyed the cakes as well. Everyone asked where I got the cakes made, and I happily recommended Coco Paloma Desserts. I hope she gets some business from the party-​goers!
We had a smaller second cake that had a small cello detail on it, which was fantastic as well. She made a miniature 3D cello to top this smaller cake, and this cake was a perfect complement to the larger cello cake.
The cake flavors were very tasty! The cello cake was a tiramisu inspired cake, and was very delicious. The one thing I would say is that I wish the cake was soaked with more of the espresso-​kahlua mixture because it was really good and I would’ve loved more of that flavor. The smaller cake was a green tea cake with almond butter cream and a layer of apricot jam, which was fantastic. Both cakes tasted wonderful and looked amazing! Paloma is a true master and artist!

Paloma did an amazing job bringing our dream cakes to reality! We brought in a few photos of cakes we liked and she created masterpieces for us! Not only were they beautiful, but they tasted delicious. Our wedding cake was a white cake with almond icing and fresh strawberries and our grooms cake was pumpkin with cream cheese icing. Our guests went nuts over both! I would highly recommend Coco Paloma Desserts!

Paloma was a joy to work with from beginning to end. We had a great time tasting the different cakes and frostings we selected for our tasting and were even able to bring home extras for a second round! As we tasted the goodies, Paloma talked to us about what we wanted. Going into the tasting, we didn’t have a clear idea, but she gently nudged us down the perfect path complete with drawings. We ended up deciding on three cakes to feed ~140 guests: a three-​tiered cake almond cake with almond buttercream, a two-​tiered chocolate cake with salted caramel buttercream, and a second two-​tiered cake with lavendar cake with lemon buttercream. Each cake was to have different types of buttercream texturing with pink cala lily sugar flowers to match the wedding flowers.
A few weeks prior to our wedding day, Paloma sent us an email expressing concern about the weather. Our wedding date was April 2, 2016 and the weather in March had been unseasonably warm. Paloma was concerned that the buttercream would melt and end up in a sloppy mess. We had to modify the design to include a thin layer of fondant with fondant ruffles providing texturing. We also added additional flowers in to add blue and yellow accents. We ended up paying a few hundred more for the cakes, but it was well-​worth the piece of mind. My husband pointed out that this was a point in Paloma’s favor because she gave us an advanced heads up rather than ignoring the problem until it became a last-​minute crisis.
When i first saw the cakes, I was absolutely stunned! They were perfectly gorgous in every way and they all three tasted AMAZING! Our guests LOVED them, particularly the almond/​almond cake. We have the top tier in our freezer which we are enjoying every Saturday until it’s gone. No need to save it a year because Paloma will bake us a new one for our anniversary as part of the package!!!
Paloma is an amazing, well-​trained, smart artist that you will enjoy working with and will not regret hiring for either the biggest day of your life or any other cake-​worthy milestone. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to one of her lovely cakes!

So this lady is a true artist. Her designs are exquisite, probably the most beautiful I’ve seen in Austin. BUT her cake texture is heavy. I would describe it as pound cake type batter. While it tastes good overall, I find it heavy and the buttercream was overly rich. It’s totally a matter of preference, but I lean towards more fluffy texture, lighter and less rich in fat and sugar. I’m glad we tried her cake by asking her to make us a small birthday cake before committing to a large wedding cake purchase. We need to try more cake makers.

We absolutely loved working with Paloma! She is incredibly talented and goes above and beyond to make sure her customers are pleased. She made both our wedding cake and groom’s cake and we truly could not have been happier with both. The hardest part was picking our flavors because we loved so many of them! We considered many bakeries when planning our wedding but were looking for something very specific — an awesome Star Wars groom’s cake. We truly think she is the BEST! We looked at about a million options online and the Millennium Falcon cake she made us was so much better than anything we had seen or even imagined. The amount of time and detail she put into it was incredible. Before we had a chance to make it to our cake table to see it for ourselves we had heard about it from about a dozen people, it was the talk of the wedding. We highly recommend Coco Paloma and look forward to enjoying more of her tasty cake on our anniversary! Thank you Paloma!

I scheduled a wedding cake consultation with this place because it’s very close to where I live and I actually planned to book with them from the start. However, I completely changed my mind once I left my appointment because the owner was so rude and I really didn’t like the attitude she had towards me. When I asked questions, she talked to me as if I was stupid and got offended because I asked her if the cake could be baked a little more moist. Her yellow cake that I tried tasted like corn bread which is what 3 other people thought as well when I brought it home for them to try. She seemed like a type of person who can’t take criticism and I felt like I wasted my $ 25 cake tasting fee.

We’re so happy that Paloma was able to make our wedding cake. October is such a busy time for weddings in Austin, we were able to book her for our date in January. Paloma made our wedding cake and groom’s cake. Both were delicious and gorgeous. She will make you the cake of your dreams or if you’re uncertain of what you want she will be able to help you come up with an idea or vision.
The only slight fumble was that the flowers on our wedding cake were supposed to be burgundy but somehow they were purple. I did a double take when I saw it, but the only people that knew what the color should have been were my husband and I.

It is simple to recognize the passion and attention to detail that Paloma has for her work. Our wedding cakes were not only stunning and immaculate in design, they were (are– still enjoying leftovers from this weekend) delicious!!! We had a lavender cake with vanilla frosting and asked our florist to wrap it in lavender– such a beautiful and romantic look with delicate flavors! Our groom’s cake was chocolate with nutella filling (which our guests literally «oohed» over) and in the shape of an amp… awesome! Paloma is easy to collaborative with and seems to easily develop a clear shared vision– which, in our case, exceeded our hopes and expectations. If you are looking for a cake of any kind, this is your baker!!!

I recently had Coco Paloma create a custom cake for my wedding, and I couldn’t have been happier! The cake turned out beautifully, and she was able to create a custom design exactly the way we wanted. Not only that, it also tasted great! Paloma was a pleasure to work with, as well; she was very friendly and helpful during our planning/​tasting session, was very responsive throughout the whole process and delivered it without a hitch. I would definitely recommend her services!

Run, don’t walk, to Coco Paloma Desserts for your wedding cake! Our cake was seriously stunning, compliments abound on the taste, and Paloma was great to work with.
Living in Houston, I wasn’t sure if Paloma would or could deliver to us. She made special arrangements to do so and we so appreciated it. She was my #1 choice for our wedding cake after seeing her work in Brides magazine. Her cake was probably my favorite element from our wedding! I was so excited about it and she knocked it out of the park.
We had chocolate cake/​espresso buttercream, and lavender cake/​almond buttercream. Both were outstanding. Her sugar flowers are a work of art.
She also made two chocolate chip cookie cake towers for us, which were a huge hit and so fun. People were waiting outside the kitchen to get a piece. See photos attached.

UNRELIABLE! I was scheduled to meet with Paloma Aug 22,2015 at 1pm. This was confirmed twice via email and once via phone. Cancelled on me that Thursday, Aug 20,2015. Yes, she asked to reschedule for the following Saturday, but I live in HOUSTON, TX! Last minute cancellation, wasn’t able to book anyone other bakery on such LATE NOTICE.
If Paloma isn’t reliable before your wedding, I wouldn’t expect anything different on your wedding day!

I purchased ($ 175.00) a very basic chocolate/​vanilla sheet cake with buttercream frosting and strawberry filling. The chocolate side was light and moist, but the vanilla cake was dense and dry. The frosting was not buttercream but swiss meringue (similar to HEB Elite frosting)…not what I was expecting. The strawberry filling tasted the same as the frosting (although it had a light pink color, none of us could taste any strawberry at all!) The decorating was, sadly to say, also a disappointment… very amateurish and sloppy. When I emailed the owner, it took her a week to reply and although she said she was sorry that the cake wasn’t what I expected, she only defended her product and made no effort to make it right. I see wonderful reviews for this business, so I hope my bad experience was just a fluke, but buyer beware!

my wife and I rushed in on a Saturday afternoon, unscheduled, even without any idea about the wedding cake. Paloma helped us and I guess she probably ran late for something (sorry!). but eventually, this award-​winning store completely got what we want.

I requested a birthday cake for my dad last minute and they were able to accommodate me… the cake had a motorcycle on it and they were able to make it pretty detailed… my dad loved it so much and everyone ate it all so it must have been great! I couldn’t eat it because I have celiacs disease, but I know they all loved it. Next time I will have to try the gluten free version =) Great service as well– super nice lady that gave me the cake.

Paloma made the most beautiful cake and delicious cupcakes for our wedding. We showed her our save-​the-​dates, wedding invitations and some photos of cake styles we liked and left the design completely to her. Our cake was a three-​tier, pumpkin spice with brown sugar buttercream frosting– amazing! My husband loves red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, so that’s what he chose for his groom’s cake. Our guests were very impressed!

Paloma created the perfect «beer cooler» cake for my husband’s surprise birthday party. She was super easy to work with and there was never any doubt in my mind that all would go as planned.
Paloma is a true artist and puts so much effort into every creation. And she’s a delightful person to boot! By the way, the cake tasted fantastic. Highly recommended.

These cakes not only look amazing but they taste even better! I ordered a cake in a cap design for my graduation and added the silhouette of a dancer (dance major) and she made it look better than I could have imagined! The cake itself was moist and not too sweet. My family who are not cake/​sweets people ate the whole thing! The ingredients are extremely fresh and make you feel less guilty about enjoying a treat :) I will definitely use Paloma for future events (my Step dad has already requested her for his birthday cake!) The payment process was super easy and secure and she delivered the cake to the restaurant, which made life so much easier for me! I NEVER write reviews but this place deserves it!

I can’t heap enough kudos and gratitude on Paloma for the fantastic job she recently did with our daughter’s wedding cake! She could not have been more accommodating and easy to work with. After a very relaxed and yummy tasting at the Coco Paloma bakery, our bride chose the vanilla bean buttercream for the wedding cake. As the couple both live in London and the groom couldn’t be with us that day, Paloma kindly arranged a special groom’s cake «take home» tasting for our him when he arrived the week before the wedding. He chose the gingerbread beer cake with espresso buttercream. His cake was decorated with a Union Jack that had a small 3D armadillo running across it, a huge hit with all his English relatives from across The Pond! I am happy to report that Paloma’s cakes are every bit as delicious as they are gorgeous!
She listened carefully to our daughter’s ideas for the cake taking in all the Pinterest photos she sent as well. Then, with her extreme artistry, made the dream come true. One of the challenges was to figure out a way to include a monogram on the side of the cake. It was challenging because the groom has a hyphenated last name. Paloma designed a really lovely blending of the two letters that we all loved so much we ultimately carried it over onto cocktail napkins and other wedding accessories.
Paloma extended a final kindness after the wedding when I called to tell her that somehow slices of cake hadn’t made it into the get-​away car at the end of the evening. The only tastes the couple had gotten of their fabulous cakes were the little bites they fed each other at the cutting. She graciously packaged up some freshly frosted slices in each cake flavor for the happy couple to enjoy when they returned from their honeymoon. They were so touched and appreciative! I’ve tasted almost every flavor of Paloma’s cakes, and they are always moist and flavorful. She has a strong attention to design details and can execute cake-​sized marvels of architectural wonder. But above all, THEY TASTE GOOD. She focuses on fresh, seasonal flavors as well as high quality ingredients. I’m getting married next year, and Coco Paloma is making my cake! It’s hard to pick a flavor, but I’ll probably go with something lemony.

After reading the great reviews on Unilocal,we decided to choose Coco Paloma for our wedding cake. I gave Paloma a picture of what I wanted and told her what flowers we were using and she created the perfect masterpiece, it was EXACTLY what we wanted. My husband had always told me he didn’t like red velvet cake, but that’s the flavor he chose and we had a lot of compliments on it. I can’t wait for our 1 year anniversary to taste it again.

For our wedding we worked to select vendors who did quality work but who we also felt we could communicate with professionally and on a personal level. We wanted them to understand our vision and maybe even improve upon it. Paloma was all these things and also makes the best damn cake I have ever tasted. I found out after selecting her that I could no longer eat gluten. Thank goodness she didn’t even skip a beat when I told her! She regularly makes gluten free cakes. Highly recommend if you want personal service and not a wedding cake factory.

To me, the cake is one of the most important parts of a wedding party. No one remembers what food you served. Everyone remembers if the cake was good. So, when I got engaged, I knew I wanted a cake that looked beautiful but also tasted amazing.
From the first phone call, Paloma was sweet and accommodating. She asked a lot of questions about our wedding and what we wanted, and took what we had in mind and made it even better. Our cake was beyond amazing, and we couldn’t have been happier.

My wedding is coming up in March, and nothing excites me more about it than Coco Paloma’s cakes!
I’ll admit, I’ve never been a huge cake fan — pie and tarts were always more substantial, flavorful, and moist. But during my multi-​month long quest to find who would make my wedding cake, I have turned into a bit of a cake junkie, all thanks to Coco Paloma.
I checked out a lot of cake bakeries before choosing Paloma to do my cakes, but it was probably one of the easiest decisions I had to make, because basically, in pretty much all categories, Paloma reigns supreme over all the other places in Austin. Here’s why:
1. Style — Paloma has an architectural background, which makes her cakes dramatic in presentation and beautiful both in extravagance and simplicity. Her cakes don’t just look like cakes with really gorgeous decoration. Her cakes look like sculptures you’d see in a museum or mansion!
2. Service — Paloma is a one-​woman force of expertise and servitude! She’s downright delightful and embodies everything about Austin that I love. She’s diverse, low-​key, creative, and down-​to-​earth. She has ethics behind her baking that I am proud to support, and she participates in the community. There’s no pretentiousness here, nothing but straight-​up amazing cakes.
3. Flavor — Above and beyond the things I listed above, all that could be gone and I would still choose here, as long as she doesn’t change a THING about how she bakes! Her cakes are made with the best of ingredients, and it shows. Going in for a tasting you are given a generous helping of any four flavors you choose — is there a flavor you want that you can’t find on the menu? Ask! One of the flavors we’ll be doing for our cake is Earl Grey — and Paloma rose to the occasion. It was so excellent that she’ll be adding it to her regular menu! Yay!
I have tried several flavors — almond, coconut lime, green tea, and vanilla with her butter creams, custard, and fondant — and everything is sublime. Oh, if only I could have her cake every day!!! We’ve decided to go with almond cake with almond custard with fresh strawberries for the bride’s cake, as well with the Earl Grey cake with vanilla buttercream and apricot marmalade for the groom’s cake. Aagh I don’t want to wait until March!
Do yourself a favor and try her cakes — for any occasion, just find a reason and go! You won’t regret it.

I’ve tried to write this review several times and I just don’t know what to say! Paloma is just the most amazing person/​cake artist ever.
Not only are her cakes delicious (white cake was amazing and the chocolate with a liquor filling… ahhhh), but they are gorgeous and so much more affordable compared to all the other boutique bakeries in town. She uses the freshest, most natural ingredients and it totally comes out in the flavor.
I asked Paloma to make an additional cake for my wedding (groom’s cake) last minute (less than 2 weeks before, I believe) and she did an awesome job. We did a chocolate fondant cake in the shape of our dog, Maggie. It looks just like her… it was definitely the talk of the wedding reception. It all came together so beautifully thanks to Paloma!
Book Paloma before her name blows up all around Austin. It certainly won’t be long now!

Woohoo! As good as it gets!
My wife (then fiancé) and I attended our friends wedding in August. He had an incredible cake made by Paloma of a cheese wheel with a mouse sitting on top of it. The detail was fantastic and the cake was very cute. We decided then and there that she would make our wedding cake. Fast forward to March…
Our wedding cake was amazing! Paloma made our cake exactly how we wanted it. We had godzilla and mecha godzilla fighting on either side of the cake! The flavor was fantastic, the design was extraordinary and she was a joy to work with!
If you have a wedding coming up PLEASE use her! Paloma’s the best hands down.
