Owning a logistics company we need guys like this that we can depend on. Occasionally, we need them to help load a piece of machinery or to jump start a piece of machinery. These are the only guys my agents will use in the Austin area. They are very reasonable and get the job done in a timely manner.

Called these guys after having a bad phone experience with another wrecker. The woman who answered the phone was super friendly and scheduled a tow quickly. The tow truck driver was also very courteous and showed up during the range of availability I was cited.

Great service. I broke down just off of 183 and every tow company said it would take an hour and a half or longer.
I told the dispatcher at Chote’s I had my eight year-​old with me and we were stuck on the side of the road in 90+ degree heat.
Mike showed up less than 40 minutes later and we were back home shortly thereafter. The best part? Their rate was the best of the three companies I called.

I was excited to find this place because of the Unilocal reviews, and I called at 8:40 am on Monday when my car wouldn’t start and wouldn’t jump from another car. I was told they’d be 30 – 40 minutes. An hour later I called to check on the status, and the person I spoke to said they were confused and someone should have told me it would be an hour. Another hour later, I called again, and there still seemed to be much confusion about who was coming to help me and when. I was still stuck with my dead car, missing work and other obligations because I was waiting for them. When the tower finally showed up, she originally told me she couldn’t jump my car because her battery box «didn’t work,» which seems ridiculous for someone whose actual job it is to be able to jump cars. Once she got there she said she «found» her own jumper cables and was able to jump my car from her giant truck. I paid $ 85 to wait for over 2 hours, had to call multiple times, and then get a jump. I would not recommend this place at all.

When your vehicle leaves you stranded the last thing you want is to wait on the side of 360 for a tow truck. Well, after I called Chotes they had Mike to me in less than 30mins! The price quoted was accurate and he gave great customer service!

My car’s clutch burned out and I was stranded on the frontage road of Research and Duval. After waiting for the Kia road service to call me back for 15′ I contacted Chote’s. They had a truck to me within 10 minutes, got me to the Kia dealership easily, quickly and at a fair price. I couldn’t be happier with their service.

Full disclosure: I used Chevron Travel Club for this towing, so maybe some of the fault was on their end.
Anyways, I called yesterday at 2:25 and was told it would take the dispatched tow truck an hour to arrive. At 3:45 I called again and was told it would take an additional 45 minutes. At 5:10 I called yet again and was told that they just talked to the towing company and we were quoted another 45 minutes. I took this time to file a formal complaint about the Travel Club. I received a call from Chote’s at 5:20 saying that the driver would call me soon. By 6:00, I still had heard nothing else and finally cancelled.
It is completely ridiculous that I had to spend 3 AND A HALF HOURS waiting and still never even got my car towed. I would not recommend this service, especially if you are in any emergency situation.

My trusty 1997 Volvo failed me while I was delivering Meals on Wheels. Last time I had used a tow service was in 1974 to tow home a 1963 VW van I had purchased with a blown transaxle. Naturally I went to Unilocal for a recommendation. Chote looked like the one to use and sure enough Unilocal came through one more time. When I called I stated it wasn’t an emergency so work me in around more pressing calls. Forty minutes later I received a call saying Steve would meet me at the Volvo in 30 minutes. He arrived in 25 minutes. Great guy, very professional and efficient and he brought me up to speed on drag racing which I hadn’t followed in 30 years. Price was about half of what I was expecting.

Oil pan? Busted transmission pan leaked… pavement– all your lube belong to us. Ugh. Clean up was an oily mess.
Mike showed up fast, diagnosed that it was not in fact *the oil pan* that was leaking, but the tranny pan. Thanks dude, you just saved me days on the fix, and zen about letting me know that was an «easy fix.» Reassuring to the chi. Mike was a hoot to talk to. Skateboards, women trouble (like we all have), and cheery conversation. $ 85 for a tow from my work and a quick ride home.
Thanks again Chote, and rock on brother Mike. You can tow me anytime.

I had to use roadside assistance for my jeep that wasn’t starting. So I really wasn’t a paying customer. But they had wonderful customer service over the phone, very helpful and pleasant. When the guys showed up, of course my car started! I felt like an idiot, but they reassured me that they would still tow it because it would probably leave me stranded again. They even told me what was probably wrong with my car! Knowing I wasn’t a paying customer, they still were very nice and I would recommend!

Broke down halfway up exit ramp to 183 on Sunday afternoon. Ronnie picked me up and took me to far S. Austin for a very reasonable price. Great service and conversation. I now know how to use a baitcasting reel the right way. I will use them again!

I just got my car towed by Chote’s Wrecker Service today and they were great. He showed up early and even figured out what was wrong with my car. Hopefully I don’t have to get my car towed for a long time, but if I do, I will definitely be using Chote’s.

Towing a car is never fun, yet a good towing company can make the ordeal bearable. My friend’s old Jag blew the head gasket (I keep wondering why he insists on driving old British cars) and he was stranded just off Mopac. I went to go pick him up and help him out, and he was having trouble finding a tow.
Fast forward a few hours after we had gotten him to his place and he got his other car to go wait for a tow truck, and he still was having problems getting one. Everyone he called said he had to wait a few hours minimum, and it was already past 7pm. I told him go on Unilocal and start calling. He called Chote’s, and to our surprise they told him he would be seeing a flatbed in about 15 minutes.
About 15 minutes later Mike showed up with a flatbed and it just got better from there. He was super careful with the Jag, was incredibly professional and pleasant, and really eased my friend’s stress levels. Turns out Mike is a gearhead, also and that showed.
The Jag was brought home safe and sound, and Mike helped push it to a good spot, all the while concerned my friend wasn’t straining himself (he has a cane currently due to a recent injury). The level of professionalism, enthusiasm and service are unparalleled in our opinions. Dare I say Chote’s made this a pleasurable experience, and I cannot endorse them enough. If you need a tow, call Chote’s.

A tire blowing out was agonizing, but thankfully i was safe. A huge relief when Mike showed up within 10 minutes of my call.
Quick, Courteous and laid-​back. He even pleaded with the Costco tire center to get me in. Just a small tire, easy, but 20 minutes to closing.

My expectations were exceeded by the great folks at Chote’s! My car broke down about a half mile from home, which normally wouldn’t be a big deal except that I’m nine months pregnant. I called Chote’s based on the great Unilocal reviews (which are pretty darn accurate) and was first off left in stitches by the dispatcher, Carmen. She’s just delightful, and she took my info with the promise that someone would meet me with my car in about 30 minutes. Half an hour later James arrived and took care of everything from there. He loaded up my dear busted ride and drove me home, all the while being sure that this very pregnant lady was okay.
They seem to really have their sh*t together, so call Chote’s if you need a tow.

The night before Easter, my car died downtown, and we had to leave it overnight in a paid lot. Unfortunately that meant I had only until 1pm on Easter Sunday to get it towed before someone else would do it for me, and NOT to a repair shop. I called several towing companies before finding Chote’s. Rob was quick and friendly throughout the whole process — EVEN after it turned out he’d driven all the way from Cedar Park to downtown Austin with the wrong key (our fault). He put more money in the meter for us to extend the time on the parking spot while we got him the right key, and finally got the car up to Cedar Park where it belonged.
Rob was really patient and never once acted annoyed at having to drive back and forth, and the charge for the towing and the extra trips was extremely reasonable. Thank you so much!

A couple weeks ago my car suddenly decided not to start as I was leaving a date night. I didn’t want to deal with it right away, but I called Chote’s the next morning and they agreed to tow my car back to my house.
Many tow services will only tow to shops, but my family works on my car, so it was important that I found a service who would tow to my home.
The driver was not just courteous but friendly. I downright enjoyed the ride home in the truck cab. I would definitely call them again… but I hope I never need to.

Today was my first tow truck experience. I called, a nice lady named Carmen answered and patiently took down source and destination addresses. Her husband Greg also works there so it seems like a nice family business. A tow truck came pretty fast; there is a warning call about five minutes before it arrives.
It was quite fun and educational. Dave was nice about letting me take photos, answering questions, and letting customers ride with them. The task was done patiently, calmly, and smoothly under the hot July sun. Dave was friendly, thorough, organized, and skilled at maneuvering large vehicles through narrow spaces.
I used to have this impression that tow truck drivers like to extort customers but left with a favorable impression after seeing how much care, time, and patience is required when moving cars. The price actually seemed fair after that even though it’s still a lot compared to general things. I would call Chote’s Wrecker Service again.
They take cash, checks, credit cards, etc… which was awesome since I only had $ 11 in cash and none of my ATM cards would work that afternoon.
