Bonasso Franklin, DDS

I had a great experience with Dr. Bonasso. He was friendly, thorough, and communicative through the entire visit, spending a lot more time explaining the entire surgical process and reasons than with most medical professionals I’ve interacted with. Dr. Bonasso’s staff were similarly professional, and the whole experience was very positive.

Dr. Bonasso and Dr. Jasper are amazing! My aunt and uncle are visiting us from Michigan during the Christmas holidays and my uncle woke up with a swollen mouth. We went to visit Dr. Gutierrez in Manor and he was excellent as well. He referred us to Dr. Bonasso. This all happened on a Wednesday and Dr. Gutierrez wanted my uncle to have a tooth extracted on Thursday. About 4:30pm on Thursday while I was at work panicking I got a call from Dr. Bonasso on my cell phone. I work in Customer Service and am very picky and he was the most polite person and ‘listened’ to my concerns. I explained my uncle was in pain and Dr. Bonasso told me he had surgery all day Thursday but that his colleague could most likely do this. He really put my mind at ease. As promised Dr. Jasper removed my uncle’s tooth and my uncle was inches away from having to be hospitalized. It turns out he had been masking his pain for months. Dr. Jasper saved his life! That was just the beginning. Thursday night we got a phone call personally from Dr. Jasper asking how my uncle was doing. I can not tell you how much my aunt and uncle (and me) like these doctors. My uncle has had to go back three days in a row because Dr. Jasper wants to make sure he is ok. Now, how is that for Customer Service??? I am beginning to think my uncle actually enjoys going back because he has a beard like Santa Claus and this puts everyone there in the holiday spirit.

Last summer, both my boys had their wisdom teeth out within weeks of each other. The older one, it was just time. The 13 year old’s orthodontist noticed that he didn’t have enough teeth… one was stuck coming in because of his wisdom teeth. They took great care of my kids. We couldn’t have been happier. Highly recommend them.

My young daughter needed two back baby teeth pulled as they were fused to the bone and not letting the adult teeth come through. Dr. Bonasso was so wonderful working with her, talking to her, explaining everything in a soothing, calm voice. She felt instantly comfortable with him. He was honest about what things would be like afterwards with her, he did not pretend that the healing process was going to be flowers and rainbows, which I appreciated. So she knew what it would be like going into it.
As nervous parents he reassured us completely that the anesthesia would be safe, and that it was a simple procedure. His demeanor is absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend him for working with children, nervous adults, or anyone who needs a little positive encouragement. He really did a great job and my daughter is doing great.
His office staff was also very pleasant, friendly and helpful when I had to clear up an insurance snafu. 5 stars for the entire office!

I second Michelle G’s review. I have been dreading wisdom teeth removal since I was 18. I will not say how old I am, except to say, I have REALLY put this surgery off. Every other dentist kept saying, look we need to remove these teeth just get it done already. I kept saying, heck they work just fine, leave me alone. One consult with Dr. Bonasso and I felt immediately comfortable and said «let’s do it!» and scheduled the surgery within a week for ALL FOUR TEETH AT ONCE! While the video was disconcerting (on all the things that can go wrong with wisdom teeth removal), he instantly puts you at ease and never pushes his recommendation on you.
I am very impressed with his customer service. He really cares about the quality of his work and how his patients feel after. His staff were also great about explaining how the insurance processed my surgery and explained the fees in detail. Post-​surgery, on a whim I thought I would drop by for a super quick check up just to make sure everything was healing well. Not only did he accommodate my super last-​minute request, but he scheduled another check up the following week. When my schedule got too hectic, I asked whether I could cancel (last minute) and they were so understanding and let me (NO HIDDEN FEES).
All this to say, I am very impressed with Dr. Bonasso and his shop. They really understand customer service and have gained my trust. I will wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone that needs dental surgery.

Ok, so you’ve heard of the 6 Million Dollar Man, right? Well, as a teen, my parents used to joke and call me the 6 million dollar mouth thanks to tongue thrusts, speech therapists, orthodontists, 10 extractions, maxillofacial surgery, etc. You get the idea.
So let me preface this by saying that my dentist office has been giving me the high pressure sales pitch from the first day I walked into their offices. It’s like they took one look in my mouth and dollar signs instantly appeared in their eyes.
Luckily, I’ve been around the block long enough to know that if I were to do what they suggest, it would only be under the skilled hand of a surgeon, not them.
So today I met with Dr. Franklin Bonasso who, not only spent a great deal of time discussing why he would NOT do the surgery, but consulted with me at length about another issue and even gave me a nice referral.
I felt Dr. Bonasso really took his time with me and though I ended up not needing his services now, I’ll feel confident returning to him should my problem ever warrant surgery in the future.
The total experience was already Unilocal-​worthy enough but just in case, Dr. Bonasso sealed the deal when he asked the front desk to charge me only for the consultation (not the xrays). That was like the «5^th star» icing on the cake!

My experience with Dr. Bonasso was solid. Now, a disclaimer: I can’t speak as an actual patient — as I met with the doctor in the course of an evaluation for a wisdom-​tooth study, and only long enough for him to take one look at my crazed wisdom teeth and send me walking out the door. But in the ten minutes I did get with him, I was very impressed with his demeanor, his willingness to thoroughly review my x-​rays with me (so I could truly appreciate the depths of the weirdness of my aforementioned wisdom teeth), and his honesty with regards to risks associated with my case. Notwithstanding what I’m sure are enormous incentives to get rejects like me out the door post-​haste, he was very thoughtful and thorough in his discussion of my teeth. (And oh, what teeth they are.)
In short: he didn’t have to take time out of his day to teach me about the intracacies of my mandibular nerve, but he did. I’m very thankful for it.
