BCL of Texas specializes in business capital loans and SBA commercial real estate loans for growing businesses. Additionally, our team of business coaches provide one-​on-​one assistance to small business owners, educating them on developing business plans, marketing plans, evaluating financial preparedness and more. Crowdfunding coaching and a local platform are also available to Austinites through our new Keep Austin Funded program.

BCL of Texas also offers homebuyer education, assists first-​time homebuyers with the purchase of their first home, and offers full-​cycle homeownership counseling to help customers remain responsible and successful homeowners.

History

Established in 1990.

BCL of Texas is a statewide non-​profit certified development corporation which promotes business and community development and provides business capital and commercial real estate loans throughout Texas. True to its mission to create jobs through business development, BCL of Texas has helped to create jobs for more than 5,000 Texans.

BCL of Texas is a member of the nationwide NeighborWorks® Network, which engages in revitalization strategies that strengthen communities and transform lives.

Meet the Manager

Rosa V.

Manager

Rosa has served as CEO for BCL of Texas since 1997, growing the company’s net assets over 21 fold from $ 600,000 to over $ 13 million. Rosa manages a BCL’s $ 25 million commercial real estate loan portfolio and. Prior to joining BCL of Texas, Rios Valdez served as manager of business finance in the Texas Governor’s Office of Economic Development where she focused on business and manufacturing expansions throughout the state. She also worked regionally in central and southeast Texas as a former Director of Economic Development for the Lower Colorado River Authority. Rosa is graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Harvard University Management Program. She has 30 plus years of work and board member experience in business development and commercial real estate lending.
