Dr. Marlene Merritt, LAc, DOM (NM), ACN

Dr. Marlene Merritt received her Masters degree in Oriental Medicine in 2000 and is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. She is licensed both by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners and by the New Mexico Board of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and is board certified by the NCCAOM. A respected educator, she was on the faculty of Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin from 1998 to 2004 and has taught Anatomy and Physiology for 13 years. She is an Applied Clinical Nutritionist, is Board Certified in Bariatric Counseling, and is currently studying for an additional Masters degree in Human Nutrition. She has a regular column in Acupuncture Today and other publications about nutrition (see her articles HERE). In addition to a full clinical practice, she lectures nationally with her husband, Dr. Will Mitchell, to healthcare practitioners all over the U.S. and Canada on issues ranging from diabetes, endocrine dysfunction, blood chemistry, nutrition,

I spoke with Olivia Honeycutt about issues I was having with my acne and told her briefly about my eating and exercising habits. She immediately recommended a supplement and explained to me the benefits. I tried it for a few weeks and noticed an enormous difference in my skin. My acne had diminished significantly. It was like my skin did a complete 180! In addition to this, I felt like the toxins were being released in a healthy way, leaving me feeling more balanced overall. I am very grateful for Olivia’s expertise, intuition, and willingness to help. I highly recommend her and Merritt Wellness Center. They are remarkably knowledgeable, thoughtful, and provide a holistic approach to health and wellness.

Love, love, love Merritt Wellness Center!
Over the past few months I’ve worked with Olivia Honeycutt fine tuning my diet and over all well being through muscle reflex testing and supplementation. Her mindful guidance, keen knowledge, and intuition have meant the world to me. While my program has ended I’ll continue to see Olivia for acupuncture for as long as she’ll have me. ;)
Merritt Wellness Center is truly a holistic practice. You wont just be given a taste and left wanting more. You’ll be taught to fish.
Not to mention the staff is as sweet as can be.

I always thought I was «healthy», I was a strict vegetarian for years and regularly exercised. But I still started to have chronic illness signs and symptoms. MWC showed me how to really have fullness of health. Nutrition is key, and I have more energy and decreased symptoms. Knowledge is power and MWC not only helps healing happen, but also teaches and empowers individuals to take charge of their health.

The practitioners at Merritt Wellness Center and amazing! They have helped me and my family with our health for several years. Everything from nutritional counseling, weight loss, pain management after surgery, and my 6 year old sons migraines have all been improved with support from this wonderful team.
They are committed to people’s health and well being and making a difference in the lives of their patients. We rarely get sick anymore thanks to them! Their appointments run on-​time and the staff is on top of things.

Merritt Wellness Center has been amazing. They’ve been able to help, both in person and from afar. From diet and nutrition advice to tooth and gum care. In fact, I had just scheduled periodontal surgery based on advice from both my dentist and periodontist when, by chance, I was speaking to Marlene on another topic. She suggested I modify my oral care, sent me out a starter kit, and I cancelled my surgery. I’ve been using her recommended technique for about 6 months. I got back from a routine teeth cleaning last week and the only comments were, «your teeth look great and your gums are really healthy!» Marlene and Will really care about your well being, not just curing ills, but preventing them as well.

I love learning about nutrition and balancing what’s right for my body from MWC. While I didn’t start going to them and using nutritional response testing because I had issues, I’ve experienced that my diet has supported my life through many situations that could have been worse. I’m more aware of the stresses I go through and how to support my body during high stress periods. Ensure you’ve got the right tools in your toolbox for managing life by using MWC.

Olivia Honeycutt is amazing! I injured my elbow and she immediately put me on Vitamins to begin the healing. She also did acupuncture in my ears. This is the first time in two weeks I have been pain free. If you suffer from pain, go see her!

Erika is an amazing practitioner and along with her patient advocate, Olivia, has helped me achieve a new state of awesomeness. I started seeing Erika and getting my personalized program about 8 months ago and I’ve never felt healthier! I had bad female issues and back pain and general tiredness. I’ve seen a huge turnaround in my state of health and feel better than I have in 20 years. I’m still seeing her regularly and love the care and attention I’m giving myself. I love that my supplement program is tailored to just what my body needs and the nuturtion advice is awesome. I have confidence knowing my nutritional needs are not only being met but allowing my body to heal itself! I highly recommend Paramount Wellness to anyone looking to improve their health. We LOVE Paramount Wellness. I started seeing Erika almost a year ago to help me with my three year old child and his food allergies. At first, I didn’t like that she wanted ME (the mommy) to be healthy as well as my child. After lots of discussion, I agreed to try this out with my child. I am so thankful I did. Unexpectedly I am now able to control most of my Austin allergies via food. In addition I lost the last couple of «baby weight» pounds that were hanging on. I am grateful I have crossed paths with her and would highly recommend her to those wanting to help control those AWFUL Austin allergies.
