Donnie, Junior and the rest of the crew have taken care of Maintenance needs on all my cars now for the past years. Didn’t realize I never gave them their fair share of review here in Unilocal.These guys do an outstanding job to all the service they have provided me. They not only give you excellent quality Maintenance but their shop labor and prices are fair to a customer like me. I 100% recommend these guys for all Maintenance work. If a car guy like me who owns 4 cars and gets help from Donnie and his crew all these years, that should tell the average non car person they can trust these guys. :)

Thanks God. I think I find the most trustworthy auto shop in Austin. Big thanks to Thomas and John for taking care of my black swan. They don’t talk much but work professionally. I love them. So relieved.
Last time I wrote the comment above was one year ago. They are the best technician in town. I recently took my car back there for a diagnostic since I thought there was some problem with my starter. They checked it and said it was all right. Since there is nothing wrong, no payment! Can’t believe it happens in the real world! Strongly recommend Auto Stoppe

Had a screw in my tire and tony got me in and fixed up quick and easy. Great service and very friendly. Plus his dog ranger in the shoppe is great:)

The work was honest and efficient and the bill was straightforward. Not sure what more one can ask. I am going to start coming here for all my service needs.

I took my car there thinking i was going to need to replace the whole wheel. They guy at the front counter looked at it and told me I didn’t need anything done and explained to me what I was seeing.
I am not good with cars at all and I am so glad i found such an honest place. I will definitely go there in the future if i need anything done.

I was referred to The Auto Shoppe from a couple of guys in my office. I was pleasantly surprised at the professionalism, fairness, quickness and everything else that this team brought to the table.
I will continue to use this team of experts knowing I will get a fair price regardless if I am a woman or not. So glad to have a shop like his close by!!!

If any of these brands are familiar to you then you know how expensive, lightweight and delicate these wheels are. Autostoppe does too, thankfully, and they’re the only place I trust with my expensive and overly fragile aftermarket rims. A rotate and balance (FANTASTIC balance job, btw, with not one but two dinged rims) was $ 40.
They’re honest, smart and do the work on time and on budget.
Give them a try — you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Quick honest service

I can highly resommend this auto repair shop. It is wonderful to know there are still honest businesses with integrity! I took my Jeep to them, as they indicated in the phone book that they did «electric repairs». My brake light has never worked right for the past 5 years, no one could fix it. The Auto Stoppe worked on it for over 3 hrs, replaced the problem items by tracing down the electric malfunction. All that and only charged me under $ 150! Everywhere else I had checked, was going to charge me $ 85/​hr labor alone. Estimate of 3 – 4 hrs.
I am so glad I happened to go to this business. I will from here on, take my car to them for all the little repairs I have left to keep my now paid off vehicle running for a couple more years.
Women — trust me, you can depend on this business to be honest with you.

Not a ripoff, which is the most important thing you can say about an auto repair service. Parts cost what they would’ve at O’Reilly’s or wherever, and the labor was reasonable. Tony was a really nice guy. I would’ve given 5 stars, but the turn around was a little slow – I brought in my car on a Saturday, they’re closed on Sunday, then I was supposed to get it on Monday but didn’t til Tuesday; not a huge deal, though, still a positive experience.

I was sent here by the manager of a muffler shop, who said Tony (owner of Auto Stoppe) is honest and reasonable. Car repair can spiral into an expensive disaster easily, and since I know very little about cars, I can’t tell if the price is fair or if the repairs suggested are even necessary, so finding someone you can trust is key. I’ve also noticed some mechanics talk down to women in a way that would never happen to a guy, which is an automatic dealbreaker (goodbye, Leonard’s!).
Auto Stoppe is nowhere near where I live, but they’re affordable, professional and polite. Zero sales pressure, which I appreciate. In fact, Tony is one of those easygoing, soft spoken people who have a calming effect on others. Nice trait in a business where your customers are often stressed out. He did go to the trouble of writing up an estimate on a procedure I’d asked about in passing, which I appreciated.
The shop looks like 1982 inside, with a lot of bright yellow, so don’t be put off by the low-​tech décor. Fortunately, if you don’t want to wait, there are a lot of shops around to check out. They’re super busy and it’s first come first served, so get there early.

This is the only place I take my car to get anything done with my tires. These guys are friendly, understanding, and honest. For me it’s a HUGE plus that they are open on Saturday!

I like these guys. I’ve used them regularly for tire service. Around $ 15 to get a nail/​screw in my tire fixed up. Fast service most of the time, or at least they will give you an accurate estimate of how long it will take if they are busy.
The last time I went in with a leaky tire problem — actually on my full-​sized spare tire — they could not repair the tire since the hole was in the shoulder of the tread. Instead they sold me a reasonable looking used tire for only $ 10! Cost me less than fixing the hole in the old tire. Awesome!
I also used them recently to install some tires I bought online from
. Installation was $ 17 per tire including tire disposal. Saved about $ 30 – 40 total on the tire replacement over ordering the same two tires from one of those big tire places.

In short, this was the crowning example of the swarmy auto shop. After first trying to radically overcharge us for a basic repair, the guy on the phone threw a fit when my girlfriend had the audacity to ask for an itemized price breakdown of three (yes 3, not 3000) items they wanted us to purchase. When we asked why they were quoting $ 119 for a part that costs $ 41 from AutoZone, he grumbled that he didn’t have time to bargain shop. He ended up calling AZ, or so he says to find out they would have taken 3 weeks to deliver the part.
He wrapped things up by angrily throwing out the «you’re welcomed to take it somewhere else then!» We thought that was a great idea.
When we walked in to pick up the car, he didn’t say anything of note, didn’t try to recapture our business, nothing. Just handed us the key. Maybe we caught them when they were having a bad day, but service like this, overcharging, and little interest in retaining the customer relationship really makes me wonder how they got such an overall positive set of reviews here.
If my girlfriend’s experience is at all common, this is the type of auto shop women want to avoid. Or anyone that doesn’t like to be overcharged. Or anyone who enjoys not being yelled at for asking questions.
We took the advice and took the car to Yost Automotive, about a mile away. The folks there were incredibly pleasant and came in at half the cost for the EXACT same work. Oh, and my guy Mark was totally cool about what we could/​should do and was more than happy to answer my questions.

This review is about getting a flat tire fixed.
Fast, quick, and friendly for $ 15.
I bought power steering fluid, but the auto man (I am sure that is the technical term) told me I didn’t need to. So I didn’t. I like someone telling me things like that without making me feel like I know nothing about cars.

I’ve been taking both of my cars there for a few years now. It’s hard to find a good mechanic who is also honest. I feel like I’ve found one.
Tony is very friendly and easy to work with. Their prices are fair, and they’ve always had my car ready quickly.

I’ve been driving around with a screw embedded in my tire for at least a month now. Upon my annoyance of the slow leak, my lunch buddy suggested I come here to get it removed and patched up… on the cheap!
Dropped it off, gave my name, and headed down the street to Billy’s for a quick beer (we’d already had lunch). By the time the beer was done, so was my tire! It cost something like 16 dollars and makes a HUGE difference!
The guy at the shop had been working on a «small car» (read: riding lawnmower) but quickly abandoned his work to help me out. He was congenial and friendly, cutting right to the chase, not trying to upsell me or feed me any bs.
Steve says (in helping me complete my review), «so, if you need a tire fixed up… these guys are okay.»
