Dave’s Ultimate Automotive is a family owned and operated auto service center serving Austin, Central Austin, Pflugerville, Round Rock, Cedar Park, University of Texas and surrounding areas since 1997. We have earned our place in the NAPA AutoCare program so even though we are an independent our work is warrantied nationwide. Our staff of continually trained service advisers and technicians is genuinely passionate about solving your auto repair issues and providing service and maintenance that exceeds all expectations. This has helped us win the Angie’s List Super service award and earn 100% on AAA customer satisfaction surveys. Both have been achieved for multiple years.

I have been in the Automotive industry since the 1984. I am an ASE Certified Master tech. I have been awarded the NAPA /​ASE Tech of the year twice. I am an ATI graduate and currently sit on thier mastemind council. I served two years on the NAPA AutoCare council. I have been a shop owner since 1997.

The crew at Dave’s ran a state inspection, noticing a few bulbs were out In front and that the splatter guard was hanging lose underneath the car. Not only did they promptly repair these issues, but they didn’t charge a single cent over the inspection price. What generous and quick service! Highest recommendation.

Great service here. Got an inspection and oil change. Oil change was free because it was my second visit and there’s a Unilocal special. The inspection was very thorough. They took pictures of all the things that had wear and tear and then included them in an emailed report. Will be back to fix some of the things that were listed.

Dave’s is the auto shop you want. They are very nice, honest, fast, and do not perform needless maintenance. Last year I got my whole suspension replaced on my 2001 Pathfinder and it only took one day from when I dropped it off to when I picked it up.
I don’t live as close to Dave’s as I used to, but an auto shop you can trust is like a dentist… once you find a good one, you don’t go somewhere else.

Pretty good mechanic shop. I’ve never felt cheated or swindled (yes I’m from the 1820s). Every time I look up prices or compare them with other shops, I always find that they are below or just above. A+
Bonus points: they have a shuttle, so I don’t have to Über to work.

I’ve been to Dave’s Ultimate Auto twice and both times I had a great experience. I’m actually going back Monday to have my transmission and brake fluids flushed. The first time I went was about six months ago with my boyfriend to have the brakes on his Volvo checked because from the outside they looked worn. The mechanic we talked to was honest and helpful. It turned out that the brakes were fine; they just looked old. And Dave’s didn’t charge us anything. The second time I went was to have a used car checked out before I bought it. Dave’s took me as a walk-​in even though they were clearly swamped (it was Friday afternoon before a holiday). They did a really thorough check inside and out and even had pictures of every mechanical issue to show me. The mechanic thoroughly explained everything they found and he answered all my questions. The price for the buyer inspection was really good too AND I got the first-​time discount. Both times the mechanics were nice and reasonable. I definitely recommend Dave’s.

I took my car in for a check engine light. Turned out to be the alternator. The shop made other recommendations and on repair of immediate need. They all made sense, I was expecting most of them, no surprises and opted to do sone of them. I liked the list privided of things they checked out. The repair was well done, no pressure to perform all work recommmended, kept me informed on car status, the repairs were done within a day and got discount for 1st time customer. The only concern was the cost, even with the discount. I’m not sure if a dealer repair would be more expensive.

My car broke down, and I had it towed to Dave’s. They fixed it quickly and were very clear in their communication with me. After I got the car back, one of the fuel lines got disconnected somehow and gas leaked throughout the area under the car’s hood. I towed it back to Dave’s and they fixed it quickly again. There wasn’t much mention of the inconvenience, the danger of having a fuel leak like I had, or the additional towing expense. I felt the customer service was a bit poor, and to top it off they got the inside of my car dirty the second time they worked on it and my air conditioning system smelled like gas for a few weeks after the incident

I needed to get some work done to my car before a long road trip and a friend referred me to Dave’s. They had a very detailed quote and walked me through everything that was a must. They were very competitive on pricing. I would highly recommend them.

Disappointed.
Cheap parts put on but with premium pricing attached– less than 50,000 miles ago I had Daves replace 1x Control Arm, 2x Ball Joints (upper= tie rod ends) and 1x lower ball joint.
All of the ones they replaced have now failed, the ones they didn’t touch, the original ones, are still going strong. I had another place replace these items with quality ones (Moog), not the terrible quality ones they used. And the price was far better, too. I had heard so much good about Daves I felt in safe hands– never again. I feel ripped off.

Dave’s is fantastic. I make sure to go there for regular things like inspection and oil changes, but I also highly recommend them for bigger issues. I have an older Honda and Dave’s has done quite a few updates on it. There was an instance where the manufacturer wasn’t able to get a part to them for a few days, so they gave me a loaner car for free. I highly recommend Dave’s!

Dave’s is an awesome shop. These guys have treated me very well for the past several years and through 4 vehicles. They are honest, courteous, and skilled. Also, they offer a shuttle service that is super nice and, if you happen to be waiting for your car there, they have free wifi and a comfortable/​clean waiting area. Couldn’t recommend this place more.

I love these guys! The customer service is amazing and they are always so honest about what needs to be done versus what is recommended when money is tight for me. So few body shops have the reputation of having this integrity. Thanks again guys for being so awesome!

I have since stopped going to Dave’s for a few reasons:
1. They started to find more and more things to do on my car that seemed unnecessary
2. One time, they wanted to do $ 700 worth of work. I asked about my discount (they have a loyally program). My assumption is that the discount applies automatically, as if it’s in the system or something. Apparently… you HAVE to have your keychain card in the car with you in person or you don’t get your platinum discount? That seemed very strange that I had to physically have a piece of plastic. I asked them to re-​run the invoice with the discount and they said they couldn’t. That was goodbye for me. You need to take care of the people that spend hundreds of dollars every year at your shop.
All that said, Michelle, Greg, etc… are all very friendly and helpful, I just wish they could have cut me some slack for years of loyalty. They are getting bigger, and I suspect, greedier.
