Description

Specialties

Weather permitting we practice Yoga in the park or outdoors on various Rooftop terraces. The view is great & the breeze so soothing!

The indoor Candle-lit practice is located in Bldg H, main entrance — Texas Juvenile Justice dept (the corner of Braker & Metric). We provide yoga blankets & yoga blocks.

At all the locations we practice Hatha yoga (alignment based Anusara, Vinyasa & Kundalini yoga) based in pranayama, mudra & mantra and meditation. In each class we learn to align with our highest potential to be able to express it more fully in our lives.

We also practice Mat Pilates — concentration, precise, controlled flowing movements along with the breath to strengthen our midline which is very beneficial for a good day-to-day posture and pain-free life.

We complete the class with a Restorative posture that invites a healing space for well-being.

We socialize and meet new friends.

Feel free to barter! Veggies, fruit, eggs, services.

History

Established in 2004.

Austin Peace Studio & yoga in the park were created to promote peace, health and the study of our True Nature through yoga that includes the study of the classical yoga, yoga postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama), the internalization of the senses (pratyahara) and meditation (using various techniques including breath awareness, mantra, mudra and more).

Sessions are $ 12 each. Semi-private by appointment practice; please RSVP if you will be in class. The teacher offers more attention to each individual student.

FREE class if you bring a new guest!

Meet the Business Owner

Gundega P.

Business Owner

Gundega began her mind/body studies as a martial artist when she was 10 y.o. practicing Wushu, then Taekwondo. Later she turned to more peaceful practices of Taiji and Qigong. She’s always been fascinated by the great wisdom of the eastern philosophies.

In 2000 Gundega was bitten by a tick & contracted Lyme disease that paralyzed her left shoulder. She had constant pain in all her joints & muscles. She started applying yogic mindfulness & breathing techniques. Yoga helped her regain mobility.

Since then Gundega has been actively studying several yoga styles (Anusara, Ashtanga, Vinyasa flow, Kundalini & Vinyasa krama), all of them have given her great insights. Gundega is a Yoga Alliance Registered Hatha and Kundalini teacher, certified Relax & Renew trainer as taught by J.H.Lasater and also a certified Pilates Mat instructor.
