They are rude and unconcerned about their customer’s time. When we were there, they didn’t do much. Talked to us, told us to take medicine that we have been on before and to come back. Then they constantly reschedule and then call us up to come last minute. No, I have nothing more valuable to do with my time then sit around waiting for their precious phone call. My pediatrician put us on that same medication last year. I’ll just be seeing him from now on.

Be weary of specialists because sometimes they are so specialized they fail to see the obvious problems we can’t. I waited a full month and a half to see Dr. Scalo and finally arrived for our appointment. After a $ 600 scripted diatribe about breathing conditions they attempted a breathing test but it was not completed. We discovered after going to our regular doctor that our daughter in fact had whooping cough. A problem these people could not detect? So self absorbed and lectured they failed to diagnose an obvious problem. Don’t wait just have tests done with your normal pediatrician first before waiting in line for this revolving door office.

Dr. Brian Kang has been treating my son for a compromised airway for about 16 months, and I couldn’t be happier with his care. After-hours called are returned promptly, and carry no additional charge(or guilt!). Most importantly, Dr. Kang is unbelievably thorough, kind, and patient. He takes his time with the appointment — which may explain the wait times the previous reviewer experienced — and you never feel rushed when he is meeting with you. He is clear, open and never condescending, and explains things in ways that a frazzled parent can grasp.(On our first visit he drew me a massive diagram on the exam table paper and then happily let me take the paper home with me!) When your child has basic breathing issues, feeling like their specialist really understands the root of their problems and remembers them between visits is crucial. My son has gone from chronic croup that was so severe that he could not even attend daycare to a normal, happy, healthy child under Dr. Kang’s care. I could not recommend Dr. Kang more highly. Incidentally, they have two locations — one at Dell and one in North Austin — and in a week they are moving from the current North Austin location to fully updated facility at North Austin Medical Center.

We had to see the doctor’s here for a service only they provided in Austin. I give them a very lukewarm rating. We frequently had to wait long periods, and the nurse was unapologetic and unfriendly about it. Perhaps most illogically, is that there is an overpowering odor of a plug-in air freshener choking the waiting room, and this is a place where babies and children come to be seen for respiratory issues!

I gave this place a one star rating, only because I couldn’t give it zero stars. Dr. Kang obviously should find a new profession. As a doctor, one should be in the business of helping people. Unfortunately that is not the case for this pediatric pulmonologist. His office totally refused to help my 18-month-old son who has been experiencing wheezing for weeks now as well as other respiratory problems. As a matter of fact, they wouldn’t even see us. Not only that but his nurse, Lauren, who I spoke with on the phone told me she would return my call and didn’t. Then when I called back the next day she told me we could drive to Waco or San Antonio(a ridiculous proposal) and see a pulmonologist there, and then she rudely hung up on me. Professionalism and integrity are obviously not part of this doctor’s practice. The most unfortunate part of the whole experience is that the person who ultimately has to pay for all of this nonsense is a little, innocent 18-month-old who can’t even tell us how he feels or what is going on with him. You people should be ashamed of yourselves and you should really reconsider your choice of profession. Oh and by the way, I will be speaking with a patient representative and I guarantee you haven’t heard the last of me.
