If you remember the original restaurant, you will be highly disappointed here. None of the veggies, sauces, meats or «extras» are labeled clearly.(They used a dry erase marker on clear glass and the stickers fell off the«extras» box). When you get to the suace station, you aren’t given«suggested» combinations so you are left to fend for yourself. The teriyaki doesn’t taste like teriyaki. The empty bar looks sad and the dust bunnies on the walls let you know they don’t care about general cleanliness. This makes me uncomfortable anywhere they serve food, especially raw meat and seafood. We asked the waitress for more sauce and she said we could get it ourselves while she leaned against the bar and texted. I love the concept; I have visited many«hu hot» and similar Mongolian grill restaurants. I’m crossing this one off the list.

This place is in dire need of need management. The staff appears to be under trained and lacks leadership. Once considered an upscale type establishment; it has gone so far downhill. The only way to describe the place is it looks like an all you can eat buffet. The food stations are a wreck, the labeling is so faded you can’t read anything, and they can’t even keep clean dishes available to use for your vegetables and meats. They removed the«bar» they had and now it’s a gossip station for the staff. They have a sign that says«Please wait for a Hostess to seat you» but it’s not staffed. The next available waitress just points you to a table and says you can sit there. From an outsider it looks as this place is just trying to use up inventory until they have to shut down like the Howell Mill location. Sad fate for what use to be a great restaurant.

Not even worth going there anymore. The sauces are crap. My guest had broken plastic in her dish. Just let it die a slow death. It will be permanently closed in a month Too bad. It was a great concept.

We used to eat at the other Real Chow Baby location pretty frequently and liked the layout there. We came here upon finding out that the other location was closed and I would say I don’t like the layout as much. The parking lot is a little uneven and not covered like the other one was. While it was closer to the restaurant, it didn’t feel as safe since the parking lot was dark. The food was about the same but I didn’t like how it felt like the line to get food was right next to your table. At the old location it was in a more separate area. We used some deal and I think they did some shady math to charge us more than they should have. I think we still saved money, just not AS much. Overall, I’d go back but it’s no longer my first choice as I’ve read they’ve been weird about deals to other people too.

First let me say the food was GREAT… BUT the restaurant is not clean, the floor is very sticky, and counters are very dirty. I almost wanted to leave due to the dirty floors. Once I was seated by the awesome host, no one every came to be my waiter… I’m not sure what’s going on with The Real Chow Baby, but I will not be back. The Howell Mill location was NOTHING like this, sad they are closed

Love this place the food was fresh and delicious. I give it 4 stars because the waiter wasn’t a good server. We went on Valentine’s Day and the wait for 40mins but It was good we were trying something different and we had 3 hours to kill. It is all you can eat so that’s great. I would recommend to my friends.

Would prefer to give 0 stars. Drove an hour to get here. They close at 10 pm we arrived at 8 pm. We were told they were closing. Why post hours if you don’t honor them? Won’t be back.

Great place to eat. No complaints. Great food and great atmosphere. I’ve been coming here for awhile. And the food is always great.

Overall, this place was… meh…ok. The food wasn’t the greatest, but it wasn’t the worst either. I do like the fact that you can literally prepare your own dish as far as the ingredients. I have never experienced anything like that before. The prices are reasonable.

Rough day with servers and food quality. Not professional or organized with customer orders. Customers receiving wrong items and food out of stock. Extremely warm under the outdoor tent. Horrible parking and customers walking out due to slow service. If you’re looking for good service… Try another location or restaurant choice. Spoke w/mgr and the next meal will be free but the above information needs to be addressed.

If you have been to the Howell Mill location, please stay away at least 5 miles from this place before it dashes any good memories about Chow Baby. This location has nothing but rude employees, bad service and filthy floor. My friend and I got there at 8:30PM, an hour and half before the closing time listed on the front door, only to be denied service by the manager. Her reason to not serve us was that the supply ran low due to small number of customer during week days. Yet I could clearly see trays of new supply being brought out and at least six people waiting in line to get food. I had great experience at Chow Baby before so I asked her to make an exception but she insisted that the wok was about to be closed and my friend and I should go home. How on earth could anyone tell the customer to go home an hour before the closing time? It’s a shame that once awesome Chow Baby has turned into a place like this. I would not recommend it to anyone.

I love this place! The idea of american stir fry is cool. You can make anything you want. So if your food is back, it’s your own fault. I recommend sitting inside, unless is warmer out. Also, beware of reaching over the ingredients underneath the glass. I’ve gotten ingredient on my sleeves. But that was because people are messy and the glass is a bit low. Any who, a unique experience. Enjoy! Tip: Prices went up and add up fast. Can get a bit pricey. Be mindful of adding extras or seafood. Also, don’t expect to carry out anything, unless of course you don’t finish your first try. But if you go up for seconds you’re billed a takeout charge. Ain’t worth it. Do what you came to do. Eat all you can eat.

No menus, the server clueless and the food is below average… seriously hurt my love for Chinese food. Never again!

Just average stir fry but the sauces are good. Be warned as other reviews have mentioned THEYSTOPTHELINEAT8pm!!! We arrived at 7:30 and the server came up to warn us and said the time on the website was created under previous management and they are unable to edit it. It is also annoying that they have a drink sign but haven’t served drinks in a year. Very interesting place.

Oh, Chow Baby. I’ve had amazing experiences here in the past, and the food is still delicious. I love how you can design a meal that is always exactly what you’re in the mood for that particular night! I highly recommend the peanut sauce mixed with the basil one. Hip place, and they serve alcohol. … however: last weekend my boyfriend and I went to get dinner a little over an hour before we had made plans to meet friends nearby(we live down the street). It got crowded right after we got there, and they seemed to be severely understaffed. It took us 30 minutes to get through the line and get our food, but they are relatively small portions and we had gotten the«unlimited» option. We got through the line again, but then waited over 30 minutes again before we decided they weren’t even that close to getting our food out. By then, the place was nearly empty, so I don’t know why we were still waiting on our food. We left without the rest of our food even though we’d already paid for it, and were late in meeting our friends. I probably didn’t need seconds anyway, but I know my boyfriend was still hungry. Consequently, he said we’re never going back(although I do still like their food!). It really wasn’t the employees’ fault and we felt bad for them running around — they just weren’t properly staffed, and the service was terrible.

I walked in, was greeted by a host, pointed to a seat and never helped again. Walked out and went next door to The Local. Maybe next time.

I really like this place as the food is as good as you make it. Regardless of the food choices it always turns out well. My only complaint is that service was very slow on s Sunday.

Jay the Manager was in the House and it was a whole different experience. The line was clean and stocked with different foods, the back of the line was quiet and running smoothly. I am very pleased tonight. No suggestions tonight. Jay takes care of business. Thank you Jay.

This was easily the most disgusting, dirty and unsanitary restaurant I’ve ever been in. Our nephew requested it for his birthday, so we brought the family there to eat tonight and he is the only reason we even stayed. The food bar was sloppy, glass was smeared like it had been cleaned with a dirty rag, floor behind the counter had puddles of water and food — and all of that doesn’t even compare to the unisex bathrooms which had not been cleaned in at least a week. The trash was overflowing and a chunk of weave was just sitting in the middle of the floor. Seriously. We saw their March health score was 59, which then turned into 89… but this place is definitely still being run at 59. Oh, and they lost their liqour license so you can’t even drink away your disgust or sterilize your stomach for what easily is going to be food poisoning in a few hours. Never. Again.

I don’t normally review chain restaurants… but when I do… It’s because there is something that stands out. For the Real Chow baby, it caters to special diet needs like paleo and vegeterians. Basically its Asian Stir fry and you create your own dishes. As someone who is currently paleo, this works out great for me. You can load up on a bowl of veggies, a bowl of meat add your sauce and seasonings and you are done. Is it fancy, no. Is it super delicous, well that depends on your seasoning skills. Also they list all their sauces and the calories/fat/carbs for all my macro counters. Also whether the dishes are vegan/gluten friendly. In addition, if you are vegeterian, you can create a big dish of veggies and tofu and have them add a white stick to cook your food seperately from the meat. That’s a lot more then when you go to a restuarant and have noclue if your tofu is fried in bacon grease. I had a huge spread of veggies, picked the Thai Cilantro sauce because its lowest in carbs/high in fats and got a nice spread of veggies and eggs. Seasoned it just right and it was perfect. Oh and you get to go back for more! So you are not just stuck with your first dish if you are not happy. And there is a $ 5 up charge if you want to take a plate to go. You can have rice or noodles or both. The meat is beef, pork, tilapia, calamari, sausage. And you can have a bowl filled with everything. Shrimp is an option for extra and in my opinion not worth it. I like that you have the option of simple menu items and flavor it up as you see fit. Parking is valet. Ambiance is okay. Service is what you make of it, as they kind of leave you on your own. Good causal spot to feed your hunger.
