Mu Lan is housed in a old victorian home. It has a very quaint feel to it. First off, it was very difficult to find chinese food in Atlanta, so my colleagues and I were excited when we found this place. I had crab rangoon and shrimp lo mein and I really enjoyed it! They also have a traditional menu written in Chinese for more traditional authentic chinese food. The service was also quick and it is very affordable.

Always great food. Vegetable egg rolls my favorite. Chicken lo mein and Singapore noodles along with excellent dumplings.

Mu Lan is convenient, decent, and a little overpriced. It usually hits the spot if I’m craving it.

Don’t. Just don’t. Ordered steamed dumplings(just ok, although the best part), the chicken phở(disgusting) and chicken coconut soup(equally gross). I’m pretty sure the chicken was actually pigeon. Was hoping this could be my new spot, but it was over priced for the incredibly low flavor, gross food. Too bad.

My girlfriend and I went there for lunch yesterday and we really enjoyed it. Our waiter was great and the lunch menu was reasonably priced. The size of our meals were spot on, not too big, not too small. We got the edamame for an appetizer and that was way too big for two people. The décor could’ve used a fresh coat of paint, but other than that it was a great experience.

The food has always been good, however I ordered 2.5 hours ago and still don’t have my food… And I live a few blocks away.

As I’m reading the reviews I see the restaurant has switched management. I went yesterday for dinner and the foods was really not what it was the first time I went. It was actually disgusting and very bland. I’m so disappointed(the first time I went it was amazing). .. Even the coke was watered down. The only thing I had that was decent were my spring rolls… which didn’t come with shrimp like the waiter said!

Not only did they forget one of my soups it was the most disgusting Chinese food I have ever tasted. I ordered vegetable lo mein and hot and sour soup. The noodles were dry and the broccoli smelled old. My soup was made with black pepper instead of red pepper flakes/oil which completely changes the flavor. Special thanks to zifty for refunding it though.

Mulan used to be our go to Chinese restaurant in midtown, but they must have changed management, the quality has declined significantly! Everything we ordered was bland. So disappointing!

So unbelievable gross. Just ordered lemon pepper wings and pork dumplings. Let me say the nastiest meal I think I’ve ever had in my life. The dumplings were mushy and uncooked, just disgusting. The wings were cooked on the outside but not cooked in the center. I will never order from them again:(

Three of us tried this restaurant today. One ordered fried rice with chicken(«it’s ok» was his review) but we ordered Panang chicken and massaman tofu. I had the massaman, she had the panang. Her plate came a few minutes after the other two. Mine was awful — tasted nothing like massaman — watery and just pure spice. Painful spice. Now, I’m somewhat of a mild curry only kind of person, which is why i stick with the fragrant, milder coconut milk based massaman. When her dish finally came out, it looked identical to my sauce. I tried her sauce and it tasted exactly the same — just like spice water. My friend is the kind of girl that adds hot sauce to everything, and after a few bites her tongue was numb. After two bites my throat was on fire and it didn’t settle down for 10 minutes. The server said these were base spice — no extra spice added. I see all these favorable reviews and I don’t know if they have a new cook or what, but this was inedible.

Mu Lan is far from your average Chinese restaurant. Housed in a restored Victorian home, the restaurant is cozy and hip, with a warm inviting atmosphere. I went with my mother and she ordered fried rice and I ordered chicken masaman. Both my mother and I thought that our respective dishes were the best we’ve ever eaten. The masaman in particular was perfect: just spicy enough to make me want to eat more, and the curry was an ideal enhancer, not overpowering. The service was incredible; the waiters were constantly going back and forth to offer instant service. I don’t believe I have experienced such prompt and energetic service before We were both incredibly pleased with Mu Lan and would certainly go again with others.

Disgusting — ordered mandarin ribs, got sweet and sour pork chops instead. The hot and sour soup was awful, lemon pepper wings and fried wontons were clearly not prepared today. I will not order from this place EVER again, the food is not fresh.

The food here is tasty but overpriced. I keep ordering from this place because I live so close and I just want greasy Americanized Chinese food sometimes. I have made the mistake of dining in and picking up my to-go order in person a few times. The staff here are incredibly rude. If you want to have a pleasant experience avoid any personal interactions, order delivery, and you’ll be fine. I will return to this place and pay too much, unfortunately, because their food is kind of tasty.

The worst service ever! The owners had the nerve to tell me «I don’t know why we have this program?! We don’t need this program.» I was like… If you didn’t need the program then why did you subscribe to it with your empty ass restaurant! This is why you have this program!( )

I’ve been devoid of Chinese cuisine since relocating to Atlanta from my hometown! I asked around and read reviews of local store front spots and was utterly turned off by all of them. Needless to say, I was given the name of this spot and did a search for it. Parking was tricky because we weren’t sure if we would be subject to being towed because the lot machines weren’t operable. My husband had to be inconvienenced by leaving the restaurant to relocate and park directly behind the restaurant(which is a historical house turned into restaurant). Inside, the atmosphere was one of zen, it didn’t smell of strong odors(and my daughter said the restroom was extremely clean; always a plus) but, the table setting was cluttered. They use nice linens lending the overall experience to one of fine-dining. We appeared to be the only family dining due to beating the Saturday evening rush hour(although another family came in just as we were preparing to leave) which lended us having a great serving experience – attentive, prompt. I was excited to finally sink my teeth into some authentic fried rice and it made it all the better because they offered a variety that included salmon! It. Did. Not. Disappoint. The portions were beyond generous. The presentation was impeccable. Anything outside of water and sweet tea appeared to be a la carte because the fountain drinks came in their can(of course with a serving glass). The only thing that was off-putting for me was the way the food was brought out in stages instead of all of our individually ordered meals at once. It felt like we were constantly trying to organize our table growing of glasses, cans, plates as the server kept interrupting this process with more plates of generously portioned food. I would definitely have additional dining experiences here because the food tasted great!

Please do not continue to serve your pan fried noodles. I came to pick up an order and the guy came out w the bag and proceeds to ring me up. As I’m grabbing the bag to leave, someone from the kitchen runs out with the noodles. The cashier then tells me the noodles are on the«light side» so he added in some rice for free. 1) if I had wanted rice. I would have ordered rice. 2) why wouldn’t you just tell me the pan fried noodle aren’t available. 3) I am livid that I just paid $ 11.50 for 3 bites of noodles 4) don’t tell me that you are not able to waive the charge. You have my credit card information and you know who I am. I do not want a free meal next time. refund me NOW. I have been to my fair share of restaurants and I would never request a free meal if I did not like the food. But do NOT try to trick me into paying full price for something you know that you are not able to deliver. I will never be back and no one I know will ever be back.

Expensive, slow, sub-par chinese food in a dilapidated building. But hey, the location is within walking distance. The place was pretty empty and we were a group of 4, it was a solid 5 minutes after sitting down before our presence was acknowledged and the food took quite awhile to come out. When it did, it was very salty.

This is my first time here, my dad brought me here since he likes it so much(he’s a regular). Firstly, the place is pretty nice, not as in quality per se, but the look is pretty interesting and there are basically no bad tables to sit at. The hostess was kind of rude, but that’s not really that bad of a thing when you only talk to her just to walk in, no big deal. The waiters seemed like they were trying their best, very kind, The food was pretty alright, no complaints, tasty, but maybe a little overpriced. Portions worked well for me, and drinks came in a bottle. Would come back for sure, though. *update: I came home with my coke bottle top and tried to put the code into my coke rewards account and it said that it was already used…

The last few times I’ve been here the service has been poor. Came here not too long ago and the service took FOREVER and there may have been 1 other party dining in but that’s it. Today I ordered to go and the lady wasn’t that friendly over the phone. Once I arrived, I was waiting at the front counter and when she looked up and saw me she just gave an unfriendly stare. Luckily a server came to assist. I’m still waiting for my good after 20 minutes, hopefully it comes soon. They get two stars since the food is good, but if they keep it up I’ll take it down to one star.
