Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams

Unsanitary! You can’t fix your hair with your bare hands, not wash them and proceed to touch cones & cups for different customers right afterwards. There was a rather long line and I watched this & other things happen without a second thought from two servers.
The specialty menu is very unique and they’re patient to let you try before you commit to flavors. Price point isn’t an issue either, considering they use real cream and whole milk to make their ice cream. My picks were the Riesling Poached Pear & Brambleberry which I loved.
The location is ideal but the actual space is small, and waiting outside in-​line in humid heat — or even sitting after you’ve ordered isn’t. Jeni’s is good just not worth a rave from me, but I live too close not to consider dropping in each time I pass by.

Churro and Almond Brittle are my absolute favorite. The smell when you walk in the ice cream shop, is mesmerizing. From the flavor, staff, and look and feel– overall great experience each and every time.
They let you sample whatever flavors you want and are super patient, this is great because I hate feeling rushed. I love this location because you can use the outdoor seating by JCT Kitchen or walk over the Westside Provisions bridge and enjoy your cone!

I’m from Columbus, Ohio where Jeni’s originated, so I was STOKED to discover Jeni’s over here! Beyond it feeling like home, I just love everything about Jeni’s from the light creamy texture to unique flavors to the décor. My current favorites include brambleberry crisp (jeni’s classic), sweet cream, lemon & blueberries buttermilk… Yum!

This shop is very cute! Most of the staff that worked here that day was very nice and graceful to help us to try the various and abundance of flavors that they have! But we finally decided on the Savannah Mint, Salty Caramel and Wildberry Lavender! They were delicious and creamy and went every well with the waffle cone pieces we got with our cups! I highly recommend this place!

First timers! The worker had so much patience with us as we pretty much sampled all the flavors. As she scraped the ice cream for us she explained what was in the ice cream and what kind of flavors to expect when we tried it. Even when a line formed behind us, she still helped us all the way until we paid. Excellent customer service.
The workers told us that they just switched to metal sample spoons (better for the environment)! She also said that there’s a Jeni’s in LA where we live, so we’re definitely going there!
We got 4 flavors in a cup. Salted peanut-​butter with chocolate flecks, brumbleberry, brown butter almond brittle, and it was like a honey chocolate almond one. All were so great!!!
When eating the peanut butter and brumbleberry together, it’s like a pb&j sandwich!

I’m not much of an ice cream aficionado, so I wouldn’t really appreciate entirely what Jeni has to offer. I do like ice cream in general so trying out Jeni’s unique menu of specialty ice cream is a treat.
This place can get packed pretty quickly, especially at night, with a line snaking out of the door and around the corner. I went there on a saturday morning right when they opened and encouraged me to literally try every flavor since it wasn’t busy. I settled for a salted caramel and berry concoction that I forgot the name of. I ordered a small for $ 5 of these two flavors and the portion sizes aren’t exactly generous. They do give you two waffle cone slices.
My friend got their ice cream cookie and it was splendid. The cookie itself was undercooked and gooey, while the ice cream was soft, yet solid enough to hold itself up. It was probably the better highlight for me than the ice cream itself
Jeni’s offers a unique, modern and delicious spin on a old fashioned treat. With a lot of variety and specialty flavors, you’ll probably find one suitable for you. Just be prepared to wait in line and pay a premium price for premium ice cream.

Doesn’t matter how full you are, there’s always room for this amazing, delicious, creamy concoction to fit in your belly!
Jeni’s was one of the «must go to» places in Atlanta, and let me tell you, it does not disappoint. With a variety of flavors, ranging from rich and decadent to light and refreshing, this place is perfect for an after meal dessert.
There is typically always a line when you go there (what do you expect from such an awesome place!), but I was lucky enough to try out most/​all of their flavors because I went earlier on a Saturday afternoon.
Some of the flavors that really stood out to me was their Riesling Poached Pear sorbet (light, less sweet and refreshing), Roasted Strawberry (fresh and made with real strawberries!), Brumbleberry crisp (it’s like a blueberry cobbler in ice cream form!), Salted Caramel (just that perfect balance of sweet and salty), and Almond Brittle (with a nice crunch and a lingering sweetness, this is one of the most popular flavors).
The small allows 2 scoops for only $ 5, which in my opinion, is reasonable for hand crafted ice cream and a good portion for 1 person, or even to share with another.
The place itself is pretty small, but there are some tables available to sit and enjoy your ice cream. If you want to take it on the go, the area it’s located in is just beautiful and picturesque!
On a warm spring day, there’s nothing that can beat this joint! It was so good, I went back the next day!

I’m a big fan of Jeni’s. I was pleasantly surprised to know that there was a Jeni’s here in Atlanta, didn’t know there were locations outside of Ohio. Regardless, I was familiar with the great selection to choose from, so it was a no brainer when it came to dessert options.
I love the array of flavors available. My personal favorite is the salty caramel — the hint of salt really cuts down on the sweetness, amplifying the flavor and taking it to a completely different level. That’s just me. You’ll probably find a flavor that you like, but look around and sample some of the others.

Bottom line — If you want good ice cream, look no further than Jeni’s.

As always, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream is delicious. It is one of my ice cream places in Atlanta. My go-​to flavors are Bourbon Salted Pecans and and Brown Butter Almond Brittle which are absolutely amazing. The only downside of this particular store is that there is usually a line out the door so you may have to wait a bit. But other than that it is an amazing place to get your dessert fix!

Waited 30 minutes in line on Mother’s Day. Was it worth it? Mostly… though I definitely wouldn’t wait in that line again. I’d advise planning your trip during the week, as I’ve heard it’s crowded all through the weekend. I do love this location though, right near Figo & Taqueria del Sol.
Many flavors to choose from, which is great, but makes it difficult to decide. I did like that there was a suggested trio of flavors (all of which I tasted and all of which were great). I do think the prices are a bit high, compared to other homemade ice cream shops I’ve been to. $ 12 for a pint is a little ridiculous. I was disappointed in that the only pints they were selling were pre-​made, so I had a limited selection to choose from. I don’t understand honestly why they can’t fill a pint with whatever flavor you want. Minus 1 star for that.
One thing I can’t deny is the ice cream is delicious! I recommend the Lemon & Blueberry Frozen Yogurt with the Branberry Sorbet.

For those perfectly content sitting on the couch and polishing off a pint of Breyer’s… Do just that!
For the discriminating palate looking for more out of their lactose and sugar, there is Jeni’s. These scoops are crafted and balanced flavors that hit your olfactory senses like an oxcart. Lemon & Blueberry sounds like an ok combo… But Jeni manages to execute a flavor powerhouse that will have you questioning the validity of Ben and even Jerry’s existence.
The «Churro» took me on a one way collision course with a Mexican grandmother with a lifetime of experience perfecting the south of the boarder doughnut killer… The «Salted Peanut with chocolate flakes» has ruined me for Reece’s peanut butter cups for life…
So hold off on the gastric bypass for just one hot second… Grab an ÜBER to Jeni’s as your last stop in. And savor her gift to all of humanity…

Scattered on both sides of the ice cream flavor displays and cashier are a couple of tables and chairs. Though it was a little chilly outside, I think during the spring and summer times the bridge area would be perfect for a view and a treat.

Fast food style — order and pay at the counter. The employees let you taste plenty of samples with out pushing for a hard sale. Hopefully you made up your mind before it’s your turn to pay as the lines were stretched past the door. Though each person was quickly taken care of.
[Food Highlights]:
I’m really big on ice cream, though my taste profile tends to aim more for chocolate /​white chocolate types. Such as mint chocolate chip or Hagan Daaz white chocolate raspberry truffle as a reference, so my review will be biased.
Browned butter almond brittle — pretty rich in taste but doesn’t hold back on it either. Pair this with something more balanced if you are going for two scoops. Maybe something more fruity or the lavender. Or even Coffee.
Wildberry Lavender — I’m trying to recall how this tasted but it’s more reserve vs the other indulgent flavors. If you don’t want the sugar rush and just want to dabble on sweets. Pick this.
Churro — I felt this tasted also rich, but a notch lower than the almond brittle. Good thing you can get samples before ordering. Worth a try if you’re a sweet tooth.

Wow a ice cream shop in Atlanta with sooo many choices you will have a hard time picking just one! They have a variety of classic favors to your more exotic flavors like the churro or Riesling poached pear sorbet. Every single flavor we sampled was delicious that we really couldn’t pick! The price ranges from $ 5 small (2 scoops), $ 6 trio, $ 7 (4 scoop) or waffle cone for $ 1 more. The scoops do come with a tiny fresh waffle square.
We eventually settled with Wild Berry Lavender and pistachio honey, Sweet Cream and salted caramel. The favor flavor definitely had to be the wild berry lavender! It was so unique yet familiar it was hard to stop eating it! The interesting play on a lavender base with a hit of wild berry after flavor with each bite.
This is definitely a must try place if you are a ice cream lover and in the Atlanta area!

My friend brought me here because he said it was really good and I definitely wasn’t disappointed! Sooooo yummy! I got the sweet cream and the pralines and cream which were both great! Just wish my scoops were bigger lol.

There was so much hype around this place so I had to try it. Jeni’s is located in this cute little mall (?) thing across the street from Yeah! Burger and in the same mall as Star Provisions. There was a line, but boy was it worth the wait. I got two scoops of ice cream with a waffle crisp thingy and it was so delicious! My only complaint is that I wish I could’ve tried all the flavors! They all looked so good! I ended up getting a scoop of the Brambleberry Crisp and a scoop of the Churro. Both were so fantastic. I give huge props to the staff for serving with a smile even though they were busy, and also kudos to Jeni’s for being creative with their flavors AND having them executed very well. If you’re in the area– you definitely need to check it out! It is a cute spot for a date, or to visit with friends and/​or family. Can’t wait to visit again!

After a long day of work, me and some friends decided to get together to hang out and catch. We met up at a different restaurant for Happy Hour and ended kicking it there for a while. It was time for dessert, and Jeni’s was definetly on my mind. We got there around 9pm, and line was out the door (as usual for this location), but moved rather fast as usual. Decided on the single (2 scoops) of Brown Butter Almond Brittle (delicious) and Bourbon Salted Pecan (my favorite thus far) wanted to try some more, but trying to keep a diet going here! Difficult since everything sounded delicious. Soo, if you are on the West Side and need something good in your life, try Jeni’s. Thanks me later.

I mean, what’s not to love about Jennis?!
I love the lavender flavor and the salted caramel. It’s nice to get a cup and sit outside, enjoying the weather and people watching.

I found Jenis’s ice cream shop when I searched up «macaroon ice cream sandwiches in Atlanta,» and I figured I should go check them out. It’s located in a very cute plaza-​like area and is fairly busy. Something very cool about Jenis is that they give you a free post card and pencil to fill out to your love ones and they will ship it to them for free!
I really wanted the salted caramel ice cream sandwich, but they were all sold out. However, I have no complaints about the Chocolate Hazelnut one. Very delicious!

Why has it taken me so long to come here? Perfect place to satisfy a sweet tooth or ice cream craving, even on a cold, rainy night in February! Since it was raining, it wasn’t that crowded and parking was ample. Staff was friendly and helpful in recommending flavors, and they aren’t stingy with letting you sample. We both ended up getting the trio, which came with three half-​scoops of ice cream. I had a hard time deciding, because everything I sampled was so good. I ended up getting the wildberry lavender, darkest chocolate, and pistachio honey in a cup, which was garnished with a slice of waffle cone. Each flavor was rich without being too overwhelmingly sweet, and as a fan of anything lavender flavored, Jeni’s nailed it! The seating area was adorably decorated, with a handful of small marble top tables and a longer wooden communal table decorated with fresh flowers. The ice cream is a little more expensive than your average ice cream shop, but worth it for the quality. I will definitely be back.
Side note: they had cute ice cream postcards near the register that you can fill out while enjoying your ice cream and they’ll mail it out for you. I thought it was a nice touch, it’s the little things…

Some truly amazing ice cream. It’s slightly on the expensive side, but it’s worth a visit to finish off an evening out. The staff was friendly, and I felt relaxed while trying the different flavors before deciding on the ones I wanted. They have a list of «classic» flavors in addition to season/​limited flavors. If you’re going to go, I’d recommend getting the 4 half scoops with whatever flavors you enjoy the most, so you get the most for the value. I enjoyed every scoop: brown butter almond brittle, pralines and cream, salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks (think Reeses), and brambleberry crisp (tastes like a delicious berry pie).

Not a bad choice here so let your freak flag fly. I start with the salty caramel and then add two outrageous sounding selections. Eat outside, then walk across the bridge over the tracks for a different view of the city lights, and take in the sights and sounds of this nouveau edgy part of town.

You’ve heard the hype. I think it’s all well deserved. When we visited this Jeni’s, it was not a very rushed environment. So be prepared to take your time and enjoy. There is plenty of encouragement to taste test the ice creams and find the goodness you’re craving. I didn’t see any of my favorite Pistachio Honey, but the Cherries Jubilee with some hot fudge on it was pretty darned tasty.
My only complaint (it’s more of a rant, really) is that the ice cream is expensive as all get out. One scoop will cost you more than an entire half-​gallon at the store. I know, I know… not the same quality, yadda, yadda. This may be true, but sheesh.

A micron of my Jeni’s love died after the whole Listeria shebang but I’m glad to see the company has bounced back in a classy fashion. Now, if Jeni’s could only re-​offer one of their coffee flavors, I would be set.
The Westside Provisions Jeni’s is more cramped than the Decatur Jeni’s, with limited seating flanking the ice cream, but the folks scooping are just as good-​natured. We lucked out and there were only two people ahead of us. When we left, the line snaked itself outside, and I dunno, was around 30 – 50 people long? Yikes. But definitely a testament to how popular and delicious Jeni’s is.
Jeni’s just released a new series of ice creams that honor the classic flavors of yesteryear, like cookies and cream [Black & White Cookies], mint chocolate chip [Green Mint Chip], and cherries jubilee [Luxardo® Cherries Jubilee]. Eating the green mint chip made me feel like a kid again, and unlike the Baskin-​Robbins version, no stabilizers, Blue 1, and Yellow 5! Just high-​quality ingredients put together by a B Corp. Got the study for $ 7, four respectable sized half scoops (with waffle wedges) that are perfect for sharing and noshing on different flavors. Salty caramel and black & white cookies were tasty, but I highly recommend the darkest chocolate. It’s damn near perfect. I don’t know how Ms. Britton Bauer does it, but her ice creams are always super rich and never disgustingly sweet. Amazing.
Housekeeping: I didn’t go to town on the samples because there were a lot of folks after me, but you’re always welcome to sample to your heart’s content. Complimentary cucumber water is located behind the cashier. There are parking spaces nearby, and valet’s an option if that’s your thing. Bathrooms are right outside the scoop shop.

Awesome ice cream. Very clean shop as well. They have great sundae combos up on the bird and some cool flavors. Me personally, I’m a cup and scoop girl. I don’t really do toppings but, the ice cream is good enough to stand by itself. Got 2 pints, one of Sweet Potato Praline and one Brown Butter Almond Brittle. The latter is phenomenal, very apparent butter flavor, complemented beautifully by the sweet salty crunch of almond brittle. MUST try! Stays open til 11pm as well which is awesome!

Overwhelmingly sweet. The first taste of the churros was a blast of cinnamon. They also gave generous portions even though the menu said «half scoop.»

Love love love their ice cream! The staff is super patient when you want to try new flavors and really helpful at making suggestions. They seem to make everything in-​store and always have a decent variety of ice cream. The building is small and the line gets long, so prepare to wait if you come on a weekend evening.
Parking is also a hassle, they have expanded it recently but there is construction so its a bit cramped to get in and out.

Splendid indeed! I am a very big gelato fan, but Jeni’s has brought me back to the land of ice cream. Creamy and flavorful, this place makes a great dessert stop. Overall, I enjoyed the uniqueness of the flavors, and think this place is worth a try. Best come with a sweet tooth prepared: some of the flavors were too sweet for even me!

No matter what city I’m in I love to stumble up on a Jeni’s!
Premium ice cream salon with all the tastiest, unique and assorted flavors. Options range from dark chocolate to lavender and of course seasonal blends. Try pairing a couple or become a student and sample 4 different flavors. You can’t go wrong at Jeni’s.
This particular location is in the Atlanta’s classy, chic West Provisions area. Surrounded by upscale shops & eateries it’s easily accessible. There’s seating both outside and inside depending on your mood. Not sure what to get… sample whatever tickles your fancy. The crew is very pleasant and knowledgable.
Lastly, don’t leave without a conversation cookie. The house-​made waffle fortune cookies are sure to get some dialogue going.

This is the only ice-​cream I will eat nowadays, because it made think everything else is trash. I’ve also slowly converted my mother and boyfriend to Jeni’s as well.
This is a cult people; and the addiction only gets worse when experience a Jeni’s store in person.
It’s a whole mother beast accompanied by the sugary innocence of freshly made waffle cones floating throughout the air.
When you are willing to spend $ 24 on two pints of ice cream, and you justify it because you can explain their entire process is sourcing the ingredients, using grass fed cows, and hand-​crafting the flavors… there’s an issue there.
Problem is-​is that I’m fully aware of
this, and I’m still over here willing to throw all my sense out of the window for a taste of their ice cream. I’ve even placed online orders…
Once you taste it you’ll understand. That’s the purpose of the stores-​enticement and induction into the dairy abyss!

My daughter and her fiancée recommended this place, and I am glad they did. Wow! Delicious. Even though there was a line, it moved swiftly and efficiently to me making my order for some magical concoction that was probably made from ground-​up unicorn horns and the dreams of small children. It was a definite treat, and the friendly staff there lets you try as many of the flavors as you like until you get the one you want. I wish they had more outdoor seating, though… but that is a small price to pay for a great time with some outstanding ice cream.

My how the mighty have fallen, and it makes me very sad indeed. I have been a lover of the Jeni’s ice cream for ages, but then they had all of their listeria problems and had to shut down. I finally returned after quite the hiatus for me and boy am I disappointed — this is not the real deal.
So admittedly, Jeni’s is using someone else to produce her product to make sure there is not another problem, but the quality is not the same. My favorite ice creams are missing (no Askinose Chocolate) and the Buckeye State (not even called that anymore) is just a run-​of-​the-​mill peanut butter ice cream with giant chocolate chunks. It isn’t even very peanut buttery. There is something fantasical about those little bits of chocolate that melt the second they hit your palate.
The dark chocolate was still pretty chocolaty, but was boarding on chalky. The coffee was also a disappointment. I think I will probably stay away until I know that Jeni is back to making her own product again. Sorry, Jeni, but it just is not Jeni’s when someone else is making it. It certainly is not worth the Jeni’s price tag.

After having dinner on the Westside, we wanted to have some dessert. Unfortunately, we went by Amelie’s and they had just changed their hours and started closing earlier. We had like 5 mins before they closed. Change of plans. Jeni’s it is. This was the problem. They were still ramping up after their public health issue. Therefore, not all the flavors were available. Sucks since I really just like the goat cheese & cherries. That was not one of the options and I didn’t like any of the options they had. So I opted for the gooey butter sundae.

Salty Caramel Sauce and Honey Butterscotch Sauce atop Brown Butter Almond Brittle ice cream with freshly whipped cream, an Amarena cherry, and a Convo Cookie. A cold, creamy take on St. Louis’ Gooey Butter Cake.
I chose vanilla ice cream instead. They were out of the cookies so I got none and no replacement was offered. That really bugged me. The sundae was filled to the top so the definitely don’t skimp on the serving size. In fact, the sauces were overflowing. Bad for my fingers, but tasted good.
A good visit if they are at full service, not otherwise.

Dropped by this Jeni’s location, for the second time, today. The reasons?
–I was chillin’ with Colleen B aka #bosslady, and we needed to celebrate her birthday. (Ice cream and birthdays go together like a geek that lives in their parents’ basement and Star Wars.)
–The Atlanta sun and humidity made my face feel like it was melting. (It was so bad, I got hives three hours later.)
–Because ice cream.
The space is hot dog shaped with speckles of areas for group seating. Also, there are two identical glass counters for viewing their ice cream. They provide free samples, like any other, if you want to taste before buying your frozen treat.
I. ICE CREAM
*Wildberry Lavender: When I first read the description, I thought it read like a GLAD air freshener. Then I tasted a sample and realized it wasn’t overpoweringly lavendar-​y at all. Very subtle, actually. The wildberry wasn’t tart, either. It’s something that I would definitely try again.
*Mango Lassi: On point! Not too sweet. Not sure why Indian restaurants aren’t serving this and their respective establishments, BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE AMAZING.
*Double Roasted Coconut: Smooth, sweet, and plenty of coconut — my favorite.
II. SERVICE
Homegirl behind the counter gave us a 10% birthday discount. Need I say more? Yes? She could also put up with my ridiculousness. (Thanks!)
III. ATMOSPHERE/​DÉCOR
Clean, bright, and refreshing — how an ice cream shop should feel.
IV. PRICES
Pricey — maybe $ 4.50 ish for two scoops? — but worth the money.
V. OVERALL
Not necessarily my favorite ice cream joint, but I’ll definitely stop by again in the future.

After dinner at Bocado, just up the street, I brought my Mom and sister here for ice cream for their first visit to Jeni’s. At 9:41 on a Saturday night, the line at Jeni’s was out the door and wrapped around the corner! We waited about 20 mins before we could place out order but it was well worth it.
I ordered the small 2 scoops of the Brown Butter Almond Brittle and the Milkiest Chocolate. The Brown Butter Almond Brittle is a new seasonal flavor to their current menu and was delicious! It almost tasted like a Pecan Praline ice cream because it had a great crunch. The Milkiest Chocolate is always rich and classic chocolate option.
My mom ordered the Brown Butter Almond Brittle and the Lemon Sorbet per the servers suggestion and she said that the flavors tasted well together.
My sister ordered the Brown Butter Almond Brittle (You guessed it!), the Vanilla Bean and the Darkest Chocolate. She enjoyed every last bit of it.
Next time I think I’ll give the Milkiest Chocolate and the Raspberry Sorbet a shot, either way you can’t go wrong. Jeni’s is always a good idea for desert but if you come on a weekend night be prepared to wait!
