A Tow, Inc. was founded nearly 50 years ago when Val J. Porter discovered he could launch a company to provide the answer to the towing needs for his service station. Starting with only one truck and his wife by his side, his humble beginnings developed into a corporation operated and managed by his four children. A Tow has nearly 100 employees, over 40 truck fleet, in-​house fleet maintenance and the most efficient dispatching system in the metro Atlanta area.

A Tow is a member of the Community Associations Institute and the Atlanta Apartment Association to support the homeowners, board members and management companies with their towing needs. We meet with various groups of people to listen to the needs of their community and suggest solutions that may help. A Tow provides education, as well, so the public understands their obligations and our limitations as an industry. The towing industry is regulated by the Georgia Public Service Commission setting the standards by which we can operate.

A Tow is a member of the Towing Association of Georgia, Midtown Alliance, Parking Association of Georgia, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce so we are intimately involved with the developments that are happenings around the greater metro Atlanta and the surrounding areas. We are also involved with the laws and ordinances that govern the towing industry.

Established in 1964.

A Tow has more than 75 employees, over 45 truck fleet, in-​house fleet maintenance and the most efficient dispatching system in the metro Atlanta area.

A Tow is a family owned 2nd generation business. I have the benefit of working with the best team and my family to provide a needed service in the greater metro Atlanta area. I was promoted to CEO in 1999. My approach for success is to build my team while partnering with the local community, city government and state representation.

David P and Michael P are my 2 brothers that I work with to help pull it all together. We are proud to be a leader in the towing industry.

A Tow strives to lead the towing industry in professionalism and integrity.

Oh what an experience! I didn’t get towed, but my guy did. So I took him to pick up his car. Wasn’t so easy though. He called ahead to get the details about his car. The person on the phone was not very clear in communications. Also, failed to tell him an important fact. We get to the business and they tell him that there was a boot fee that needed to be paid to another company before they released the car. Ummm, what? So then we had to LEAVE and meet up with that company to pay the boot fee and return later. So we wasted an entire trip down there. She could have told him that on the phone and we could have taken care of it on the way. Also, it was very confusing on where to park when we got there. I went to the gate, but you don’t park there. You just park against the fence opposite the building. I was having trouble understanding where the guy at gate was telling me to go. Anywho. BUT his car was in perfect shape when he got it back and once the boot fee was paid, it did not take long to get his car.

It is a dark stormy Christmas Eve. We’re from Ohio, staying at a rental house. Got the rental car hung up on a retaining wall while backing out. Woman on phone was kind and reassuring. Tow truck driver prompt and careful. Clearly knew what he was doing. No damage to car or wall (whew). Fair price. Thankful.

My car’s front lower ball joint snapped leaving my car in the middle of the road in my apartment complex. Samuel from A-​Tow came out and hooked my car up in no time, towed it to my building and impressively backed my car (around a corner) into a parking spot (keeping it between the lines) all within about 20 – 30 minutes. Samuel was friendly and knew exactly what he was doing. If I ever need towing services again I’ll call A-​Tow and ask for Samuel.

The ladies that work in the building behind the glass are as nice as ever. The guy that towed my car was very very unprofessional. HE THREW THE FLASHER AND CORDS ON MY HOOD and then dragged them on the surface of the paint as he set them up. I was standing on the phone and heard this loud thud and looked over and he didn’t even act like it was a big deal. Now my hood has multiple scratches on it and my car is only a few month old. His demeanor was of the kind that you don’t even think retraining would help.

The company I work for has several providers we use for tow and other vehicle services. A Tow Atlanta Inc is not one of our providers and that’s a shame. Speaking to Carlton tonight, he rescued one of my customers after I called all of our network providers and even escalated his call. My customer had to find this provider on his own and that’s not right. I think it’s great that despite not having a contract with us, he was willing to help my customer get his vehicle to the dealership in a timely manner. I’d also like to add that he had the option to ask us for a lot of money, but he did not. I even tried to give him more money just for helping, he would not accept. You want someone honest? Call them!!!
Carlton is a very nice guy and was beyond helpful. If you need a tow, and you are in their area, call them. Tell Carlton that Kathy sent you!

I was outside their tow zone, but since a truck was in the area he was directed to my house quickly. Tow truck operator was very friendly, even killing a wasp nest for me. Price was good and exactly what I was quoted over the phone.

A long time ago, A Tow replaced Midtown Towing as our condominium’s towing company. As many already know, parking can come at a premium in Midtown and unfortunately, that is the case in our community’s parking deck too. Over the years, I’ve had the unenviable task of towing cars from my owned parking spot. I’ve tried leaving notes and waiting several hours for folks to move their cars, but when time’s up, I’ve got to tow.
Over roughly the past decade, I’ve towed three, maybe four, vehicles from my spot. Each time I called A Tow, someone was quick to answer the phone. All I needed to do was verify ownership of the parking spot, give a description of the vehicle, and a truck was dispatched right away. It’s amazing how fast the trucks arrive from the time you place your call. A couple times, they were on the property within 30 minutes. One time, the truck took nearly an hour.
I’ve never had any interactions with the tow truck drivers, other than to buzz them into the garage. They are in and out in a flash. The staff I’ve spoken with over the phone are, for the most part, polite and efficient.
On the flipside, one of my friends had her car towed from the property by A Tow and I had to drive her to the impound to pick up her car. Retrieving the car was a quick, mostly painless (except for the $ 125+ impound fee) process. The car showed no signs of damage from the tow.

If I could give zero stars I would. From the first telephone contact to driving away with our car… this business doesn’t comprehend the words, «customer service.» The clerk was inordinately rude, considering it IS her job to give people their vehicles back. I won’t be using this company ever again!

This is the absolute worst wrecker service in Atlanta. Probably worst in the southeast. The ladies on the inside are rude. There is no communication between the office and the yard. All they care about is making a dollar. My fiancé car was towed here after an accident. When we first went inside they couldn’t find her key. Then they decided to look in their system and realized the driver left the key in the ignition. We go out to the car and see the key is actually in the ignition. Guess what? They locked the key in the car. So when we go to get help from them to get the car unlocked, they tell me the guy that can help just got to work but he has some things to do first. Are you kidding me!!! I truly wish I was able to give a negative rating. A 1 star review is too good for them.

Wow. Do NOT use this company. Was driving alongside one of their vehicles today and the driver sped up alongside me and cut me off to avoid hitting traffic in his lane. Nearly caused a three car accident. If they drive their vehicles while towing yours, it’ll obviously get damaged even more. The tag was BJI 2455.

My car was towed here after an accident. I was injured in the accident and couldn’t clean out my car at the scene. When I came to get my things later $ 300+ worth of items were missing. The office had me fill out a claim form and I was told someone would call me. No one did so I had to call back, and was told the driver didn’t report anything in the car so they couldn’t do anything about it.
Either their employees are thieves or the security is bad and someone broke in. Either way they should have insurance to cover things like this.

Today I had to call A-​Tow due to a flat tire I suffered while in Mid-​Town. The dispatcher was very nice, the driver arrived quickly and took good care of my car hooking it up. He explained what was going on, made sure my car could be towed and didn’t have 4×4 on — just extremely courteous. It made a really bad situation much better and I appreciate it greatly.

The guy who towed my car was a pro: after he showed up he had the car totally hitched up in less than a minute. On top of that he was very nice and helpful (I’ve never had to do this before). Hope I never need to get a car towed again, but I will probably call these guys again if I do.

2 flat tires at 3 am is enough to ruin your night. A tow makes the experience 70% less terrible. My insurance contracted A Tow to tow my car home and the service was right on time, professional and friendly. The dispatcher was patient and understanding. The driver took care with my poor battered car and even offered his hand helping me out of the truck. Great service, very polite and wonderfully efficient.

Working in property management, towing companies are a dime a dozen, or so I thought. We have had A-​Tow for over 2 years on several of our properties and they go above and beyond with their customer service. I can call and need a truck within 20 minutes and Terrence makes sure it is taken care of. Page, the CEO of the company, is professional and prompt and Charita never disappoints with impeccable reports. I have never received a complaint from anyone that was towed regarding vehicle damage, which used to happen with other companies. A-​Tow trucks are new and their the drivers are very nice. Thank you A-​Tow for being such a quality company and making my job easier.

Never had my car towed and impounded before, so I don’t have much to compare to besides the tv shows, but the people were friendly and helpful, however, it is an extremely SLOW process. They take their time, and you wait a while at the window before you’re helped, even when no one else is there.
Paid $ 135 to get my car out.
Oh, and if you’re not the registered owner, but you provided all the information to get your car back, you have to pay the $ 135 in cash.

Would rate zero stars if possible. My car has been towed there twice. Both times, hundreds of dollars in parts were stolen from under the hood and inside the car while it was there, and I had to have it towed to a repair shop. The first time I got it out, the battery was among the stolen parts and they offered to sell me a replacement battery. The fees are outrageous, they are extremely slow, the office is dingy, and you can expect to have your car gutted.
Never deliberately have your car towed here. If it is towed here, get there ASAP, perform a thorough inspection of the car, take lots of pictures, and get it out any way you can.

The below review was before I was contacted yesterday from Charita with ATow– Since. These guys are giving my money back, and all things considered it wasn’t that bad. The folks with ATow are polite, they are just human, and forgot about my $$$$. which is understandable. We all forget sometimes! I am picking the $ 105 up today, The whole matter will be resolved, ideally today.
«Recently my car was towed. I have been trying to contact Page with A tow for 12 days now. She has not returned my voicemals. My money has been set to be refunded for 12 days. Since my car was towed, and I was told that it wouldn’t be. the parking company said that I should contact A– two and Page Porter. and that she would refund my $, The President of the parking company said the issue was considered resolved, but «NOT SO FAST» I have heard nothing from A-​TOW. I wonder how long it takes for a company that has no problems collecting $, to pay it out. Now I know most business have the same issue. But if someone who owes me $ thinks I will forget, and not follow up. They are wrong. I can and will write reviews that reflect my level of customer service. which in this case has been poor to say the least.

Having your car impounded sucks. Trust me, I know. I can’t tell you how many times I found myself in line at City Hall East and then down on Harriett Street trying to retrieve a vehicle. You know what else sucks? Locking your keys in your car. I did that once while I was shopping at Publix. The locksmith I called ended up hustling me out of over $ 100 just for a lock out.
I absolutely love A Tow because they make both of those situations easier to handle. I doubt I felt this way at the time, but in hindsight A Tow always treated me fairly and honestly. They were careful not to damage my car, their prices are clearly posted, and once they even let me go to my car to retrieve some documents I needed to prove ownership that were in my glove compartment.
The company is family owned and I’ve recently had the pleasure of meeting Page, their CEO. During my company’s service project at Project Open Hand last month my co-​worker locked her keys in her car, preventing us from delivering meals. I called Page and she was able to send someone to unlock the vehicle and the truck was there in about 20 minutes. They only charged $ 35 and I knew I had to pay the fee, but I thought she hooked me up by getting the truck there so fast. Apparently they give everyone the VIP treatment because my fellow Unilocalers also report a short wait time. How awesome is that!!!
I agree with Stephanie M. A Tow changed my entire outlook and opinion of towing/​roadside assistance services. I’m glad that they are here and hopefully they can help transform how other towing companies conduct business. We need more honest companies like this in Atlanta.
