I have been living in Athens for a decade, and this is by far the most trustworthy, efficient, and straightforward auto mechanic I have ever worked with. They keep in touch with you about the status and progress of your vehicle, and make it very understandable to not only figure out exactly what you are paying for, but also how to maintain your car’s long term sustainability. I highly recommend 5* to all of my friends.

I cannot say enough positive about Five Star. We brought an older vehicle we knew had some issues to them on a limited budget. They inspected the vehicle, let us know what was wrong, what needed to be repaired the quickest within our budget and laid out a plan for the other repairs. They were polite and had our repairs done within the work day. If you are looking for an honest fair mechanic this is the place to go!

These guys are fantastic. They’ve taken excellent care of my car for seven years.
–When they fixed things, it was done properly.
–They were always up front with me about what was going on with my car, what the problems were, what it would take to fix them, and whether or not it was worth fixing them.
–I never felt like they were trying to sell me a service that I didn’t need.
–All of the work was done promptly, usually on the same day.
I can’t recommend these guys highly enough.

I recently moved to New Orleans and just had a less than positive experience with my mechanic down here. It made me miss Five Star Automotive. Aside from the fact that they are good, the thing I always valued most about Five Star is that everyone who works there is honest. This is not the sort of auto shop that you have to worry about jerking you around. They do quality work and at very competitive prices. I went to UGA for undergrad and grad school and in the seven years I was there, every single person I sent to Five Star always thought they were great. If you’re looking for a new mechanic use these guys!

I took my car to them many times over the years and they always did quality work at reasonable prices. The guys there were all friendly as well. They might be a little slow at getting your car done, but they’re also extremely busy.
