I’ve been here twice and both times the brake work was done quickly, well, and at a reasonable price. The shop isn’t fancy, but they don’t have a lot of overhead to cover. The guys are clearly knowledgeable and experienced. My cars are fairly new and I take them to the dealer for most work since they are still covered by warranty, but from now on Whelchel’s is my place for any brake or alignment work.

Jim at Whelchels is great! My van broke down in Athens and my husband and I spent 3 hours working on it; after a trip to car quest on Hawthorne, they told us to check at Whelchels for what we needed. Jim let us borrow the piece we needed to fix my van for free, even though he had never met us before. It was extremely helpful, and I was very impressed with the fact that they didn’t want money out of us, just to lend a neighborly hand of help.

Another shop said they could not align my car without $ 600 worth of front end work. Jim (I believe) at Whelchel said he could do it no problem, and the alignment has been great ever since. I will certainly return for any future alignment or brake work.
