We specialize in Pies, turnovers, muffins, and scones, cakes and cupcakes, a variety of cookies. We also serve delicious organic quiche and sandwiches, coffee and tea in house.
Their pastries are excellent and are not overloaded wit sugar. We particularly like the fruit pies and turnovers. Lots of fresh fruit and perfect crust. In this new location sandwiches are also available I got a nice little pan sandwich a few months ago but now cannot remember the details.

Today I woke up thinking of how I could excuse my one-track mind, in thinking about getting a Marionberry hand pie from this Bakery. I had a cherry one last time, but my idea of cherry pie and any kind of a tart is with sour pie cherries. The owner says sweet cherry is the one most people want, and so it is. The counter gal asked if my friend and I(he had apple) wanted our hand pies warmed. Oh, yes! They had run out of half and half for their Noble’s roasted coffee, so we made do w/milk. It was okay, but my favorite coffee is Longbottom’s roast served at Organic Grind in Talent. I am willing to try different coffees, etc., but we are all so individual in what constitutes a good cup. My criteria is 1. organic, 2. taste 3. hot and rich-usually a mocha. Noble’s drip coffee goes great w/the baked goods, though. My friends come visit from Portland and enjoy the Ashland area with me, known for their supply of organic and natural. At Four and Twenty you can watch the gals make the cookies and pies, etc. Fresh and wonderful! I love bakeries. I kept checking the small place on the same street, but they are rarely open-maybe just the weekends I think. Then the owner at 4&20 was closing one day and was so gracious to a Senior who needed a place to rest for a few minutes, that she won my heart. One of my Portland friends fell in love with the marionberry scone here. The Ginger cookies are good! Everything so far has been excellent, and I’m headed there now to determine my favorites as I keep sampling… As far as fillings go per one review, prune, rhubarb, strawberry, etc. are not necessarily for us ‘old’ folks. Tastes are acquired, or come from what your Mom and Grandmother baked, but I appreciate the usual half a dozen flavors to choose from. Great place!(The owner cares so much for her product and your health, she refuses to use the microwave to warm your baked goods. Good for her! To me, warming my hand pie in the oven was worth the small wait. It made that butter crust taste really fresh out of the oven. Flaky and flavorful!)

Super duper nope from me. Pastries and baked goods are my favorite foods, I won’t lie. I’m picky about them but at the same time, I love so many. I’ve had treats from this place from both the location itself and purchased from grocery stores. I have never really enjoyed any of them. I can’t really put my finger on what it is. it is likely a combination of factors. The flavors aren’t my favorites from the get go. They also emphasize the crap out of pie, and pie is probably my least favorite pastry/dessert treat. They also over-emphasize the whole organic vegan gluten free whatever free trend, which I realize some people need(well, some of that), but what about everyone else? The bottom line is, these restrictions affect taste. Especially for people used to eating butter and eggs and gluten. Anything not the real deal is going pale in comparison, no matter how hard you try. The last time we were in here, we walked in and I checked the pastry case and didn’t see a single thing I would enjoy eating. It was all gross flavors like rhubarb or prunes? and other old lady«fruits.» Yes I’m being a tad hyperbolic but still. ewwww. This is a very RARE experience for me in a bakery. SUPERRARE. But it was one of those awkward situations where no one else was in there and the cashier woman was super nice, so we bought things out of guilt. My bf ate one of the pastries while we were there, and said it was OK. We took the other one home and it didn’t end up getting eaten. This bakery is just boring compared to the many other choices in town. Deux Chats is literally next door and blows this bakery out of the water. La Baguette is a block away and is also just amazing. I find it kind of hilarious they recently changed locations and picked a spot across the way from Deux Chats, which is legendary in this town. I have to admire that«CHALLENGEACCEPTED! spirit but, they are probably not going to win. Haha.

Bought a Dutch apple pie for $ 16.99. Thought it would be excellent since it was sooo expensive. Not!!! Don’t waste your money. It wasn’t bad or anything just nothing special for the price.

Stopped here for breakfast in Ashland, Oregon. Had a cherry turnover, a strawberry rhubarb turnover and took ginger cookies and an Apple turnover for the road. Everything was so yummy. Nice people working there.
