Meet the Business Owner
Ben C.
Business Owner
Ben has been baking for more than twenty years, starting by learning from some of the great artisan bakeries up and down the California coast, until finally starting his own bakery in Ashland, Oregon. He is committed to the craft, science and art of baking, producing beautiful breads and pastries that taste delicious as well as nourish the body. Caring for the planet as well as for people has always been important to Ben and he spent several years studying organic farming and permaculture. Supporting local farmers has been an important priority for SunStone from the beginning. Every year, Ben takes on one or two apprentices, teaching them what he knows, in hopes of creating more great bakers committed to sustainable practices and good food. Ben is a devoted father and husband who shares his love for his family and friends through the bread and food that he serves them. Owning a bakery has been his way of sharing that love with the world.
