Killer Tomato is the DC areas first food truck with a brick oven. KT pizza’s are all hang tossed, topped with fresh ingredients and baked in our wood fired oven.
This sauce and cheese was dank! I bought two at old ox brewery and they were so much better than spinfires in loudoun… BOOM!!!

It’s really great, but I agree with an earlier reviewer that it’s only great IF you get one that hasn’t been burned to a crisp. I have been there three times, first time I got what was apparently the charbroiled special, and the second and third times I specifically said that I did not want it charred. That seems to have done the trick.

Seemed like very high quality ingredients, but I would describe the pizza as very wet. It was burnt around the crust, but the rest didn’t exactly seem like it was fully cooked(i.e. cheese wasn’t melted, pancetta wasn’t thoroughly cooked). Good enough.

I give it 4 ½ stars. Tasted 3 different slices. Very high quality ingredients, perfect ratio of items vs crust, which had a terrific chew and char. I give them high praise for this. This is not an easy accomplishment in close quarters and to do it from scratch. Search out this food truck. You’ll be glad you did.

I visited the Killer Tomato food truck today on my lunch break and I must say that the food and service were AWESOME! I had a really good experience and I would recommend this food truck to anyone who loves good pizza! The guys who worked there were very kind and most importantly, FAST! Fast is always good when you are on your lunch break. If this food truck is ever in your area, try it! You won’t be disappointed!

I was not expecting it to be this good! It was my first official food truck meal and I was pleasantly surprised. This may be the best pizza of this style that I have ever had. A nice crisp crust with yummy and original toppings. Will definitely seek them out and recommend to everyone.

This truck is off the chain. I ran into them in Reston during the normal lunchtime crowding, and just happened to be in a pizza mood(of course, when am I not?). Checked out the menu, which pricing was about on par with other trucks that come through. Ordered the Big Daddy pizza and talked with the lady taking orders and guy handling the money. Turns out it was their first week on the road! Cool group of people and easy to make conversation with. Pizza was boxed up and brought it back to the office for the grand taste test. OMG this was one of the better pizza’s I’ve had in a long time. Crust was nice and crispy and bubbled on the edges, mozz was melted and natural, toppings were awesome(olives were unbelievable). A pinch of salt and olive oil added to the pizza was a nice touch to add some zest. The pizza did have a slight smokey taste, but that’s the nature of wood-fired pizza. Previous review must have caught them on an off day. I must confess this visit was NOT my last. I have almost been a secret stalker, following them on Facebook and hitting them up every time they come around the Dulles area. Last time I tracked them down I made small talk with the dough slinger/owner, this guy is as cool as they get. I can’t wait for them to return to my ‘hood so I can eat again, you hear that Killer Tomato? I’m getting hungry!

Pricey I can live with, tasteless and burned not so much. After I paid, I saw a burned one come out and stated that I’d like a refund if theyre going to sell that… to which lady said, they wont sell that one and they setout for sample. The lady said something to guy on the oven… the person that was in front of me in line got a bunch of char. I just didnt have it in me to request a refund. However, Im not going back to these people and hope YOU check your pizza for inedible char before walking away.
