Fiesta Grill & Cantina

I usually are not big fan for Mexican food, but I would say this is the best Mexican food in America.

I have passed by this restaurant many times on my way to work but circumstances allowed me to stop in for lunch. I’m glad I did. First off, the building appears plain from the outside but this deceiving. It kind of reminds you of a magical Harry Potter building. There are vaulted ceilings, full sized tropical broad leafed plants, it’s quite dramatic. On to the food: it is standard faire, well prepared with adequate portions. It is not the most complicated menu but from my meal, chicken mole, and what I saw of others, no one seemed unhappy certainly not me. I’ll be back again for a visual and gastronomic feast.

The staff is nice. I ordered nachos with fish. I then ran to bathroom and vomited. Fish was rotten. Don’t order the fish.
They replaced my fish nachos with veggie nachos, and reduced ticket price. Two more trips to porcelaintown.
I’m not sure why the lady that that wandered back with the veggie machos was laughing, but it kinda bothered me. Maybe I’m sensitive because of the wracking pain in my guts right now.
I left. Received no ‘hey, sorry buddy.’ From them. Sooooooo they get this review. I’m home now, alternating between typing and running to dry heave in the loo. I suppose I’ll polish this up and be more scathing when I’m well again.
The other peoples foods looked good. Water was never refilled at table.
If past-​consumable food and professional disinterest in your well-​being are your thing, eat here.

I really enjoy this restaurant it has really great costumer service the owner is really friendly and awsome food and drinks. I recomend this place 100%.

I gave this place two tries. I honestly do not see what everyone is raving about. Bland, boring food and lackluster service. My «crispy» chimichanga was a soggy mess. Sorry guys.

We are a family of 6. We went in and ordered our dinners. It was seriously the most plain and blah Mexican food I had ever eaten. My kids usually devour there food and even they were not satisfied with the food. I have never ever gone back and don’t ever plan to.

The service extremely attentive and sweet. The food ultra delicious. I’ve actually never had heard of warm ceviche but the grilled cod was perfect! My coworker ordered it so I didn’t have to; even better he gave me his fresh avocados. That paired excellently with my camarones (shrimp). I’m happy waitress said I could choose half garlic /​half spicy (boy was it spicy) sauce. This was VERY VERY tasty! The rice was cooked perfectly and and the salad was crisp. They are generous w the amount of shrimp & limes. Fresh is hard to come by for shrimp around here. Still they were a good size & cooked well — had it been fresh it’d be A+++ and more plump. I still rate this high. I also appreciated how this place stayed open past 9p for guests. In cities they’d lock the door at 845 and rush patrons still eating to finish.

it is no wonder why you never see this place busy. its only saving grace is their margaritas. customer service was great, and that should be expected being one of only three customers in the whole place. the layout is nice, but I don’t think they’ve ever been full and leaves me questioning how they stay in business nor how they keep «fresh» ingredients. I was disappointed after I ordered a cheese enchilada and chile relleno which came with rice and beans. enchilada– o.k. nothing special, sauce tasted caned not homemade. relleno– bland, egg was gross and couldn’t even taste the pepper. beans and rice– unappetizing, bland except overly salted in the beans. after eating only ¼ I felt sick. went to the bathroom to reject what my body didn’t like. cant say if It was food poisoning or that the beans may have not been veggie friendly. would not go here again unless it was only for a drink.

I really want to give this place 5*‘s bc the food was really yummy! But our waitress was kinda snooty, she even seemingly ignored us @ one point! The Latina who took our $ was very nice though & like I said the food was REALLY yummy so we’ll definitely be back. And I could be wrong about her ignoring us, maybe she was just busy? (although it didn’t look that way). Overall though she wasn’t so bad that we wouldn’t come back. My bf & I both said we wish we woulda found this place sooner (thanx Unilocal!) & we’re looking forward to eating here again.

I came in with a work party of 27. We reserved the back room so it could be a little more private and the manager set up a buffet-​style dinner for us. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We felt so at home and the food was delicious. We have done group parties there before and will definitely do them there again. I will be going back for the food. Some of the best Mexican food I have had since I have been in Humboldt!

My favorite closest Mexican Restaurant. I like it better than Carmela’s in Arcata and McKinleyville. It also helps that I get a discount because I am a resident at Mad River RV Park. I really like their Chile Verde, their pork tamale is good, and Sopes are very filling. Good proportions, and pricing.

My family and I decided to try this place since it was not far from our hotel. We were looking forward to good, authentic Mexican food but we were very disappointed. The waiter was nice but the food was not good at all and the Horchata was too sweet. It was not even made with real milk, just powdered sugar and water. Go to the Mexican restaurant Valley Azteca, located in the shopping center down the street. The food there tastes so much better!

This restaurant can be considered a true hidden treasure for the lucky residents of the Eureka-​Arcata area who are fortunate enough to have discovered it.
Upon checking into the adjacent Quality Inn, we spotted the Fiesta’s sign and the reviews on Unilocal were enough to lure us in. The 5 stars are justified. I am a big fan of Chicken Mole’ and without doubt this was the best I can recall having. Two generous sized breasts, rice, beans, and a hand made tortilla, and that was the lunch size serving. The chips are home made as well, and you can make mix the salsa to your optimum octane level. Add a margarita from their impressive cocktail menu and Life Is Good. I WILL make Fiesta a «must stop» whenever on the coast.

I love mole and I have say this had one of the best Chicken mole’s I have had in the US. The mole had amazing flavor and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I also loved the fact that they were open to offering lunch portions at dinner.
The tortilla chips were fresh and not greasy at all. The hot salsa is really hot, if you can handle it i would recommend putting it on top of everything.
btw Unilocal doesn’t have the timing for this place, it looks like they are open till 10 pm and closed on Sundays. We really loved the place and were looking forward to going back the next day only to find out that they were closed on Sundays.

Can’t say that I can accurately rate the food or drink at this establishment, as I was never waited on. As a party of one, they sat me in the back bar area. After 7 minutes, there was no welcome from the bartender or wait staff. The place was at about 20% capacity, so that wasn’t the problem. Never saw the menu, but the drink list looked great!

My family has been eating at Fiesta for more than 10 years and, in my opinion, is the best Mexican Food in Humboldt. The service is fabulous, the salsa, both hot and mild is very flavorful, the meals are always fresh and hot. #23 with chicken is my personal favorite and they are always willing to bring extra tomatillo sauce. There are always never ending chips and salsa.
The ambiance of the Fiesta Grill & Cantina is quite lovely as well.

Finally a Mexican restaurant in the area with ambience and great food. The service is friendly. When you walk in the restaurant you feel like you’re in an upscale place but in very cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Great place for family gatherings. The lunch specials are well priced and serviced quickly. Serving sizes are appropriate for the price for both lunch and dinner. The food taste so good I’ll be going back.

My coworker got food poisoning, rice and beans taste like they came from a box and a can. Nothing was fresh, interior had a weird smell. Don’t go, the Mexican food here in Humboldt is not the best, but there is better than this…

I tried this place because I saw good Unilocal reviews… And I was pretty disappointed. $ 16 for shrimp fajitas, only 4 shrimp in the entire plate, and only given 2 tiny tortillas. Crazy over priced. The waitress was good and knew what she was doing but was flustered and kind of lost. All in all just disappointing, I’ll be sticking to Carmela’s
