History

Established in 1990.

what started out as a hobby in the 80’s DJing at clubs, college and high school events,…eventually flourished into a full time business. With over 20 years of experience, High Resolution Production has specialized and provided great professional entertainment at thousands of wedding receptions, holiday parties, anniversaries, birthdays,… you name it !

I love all genres of music and the ability to create a fun atmosphere for all festive occasions. I’m not an avid dancer myself but I do know how to get people to cut a rug !

Steve was our DJ and MC for our wedding on 12÷5÷15 and he did an absolute INCREDIBLE job! Our reception was a hit with his music/​entertainment and our ballroom looked beautiful with the up lighting that he had provided for us. Our reception was above and beyond what we expected and we are so happy and thankful to have Steve on our big day. It truly wouldn’t have been a dream wedding reception without Steve and High Resolution Productions. We received many compliments from our guests that our reception was the best and most fun that they have been too, even the waiters at the hotel had told us that our event was amazing and so much fun! We definitely recommend Steve and High Resolution Productions for any event! Very professional, very entertaining, and on top of that — very affordable!

I am a wedding coordinator and had recently worked with Steve and his assistant a few days ago for my client’s wedding. We hired Steve for his lighting, DJ, and MC services and he was amazing to work with. We spoke on the phone a few weeks prior to the big day to discuss the timeline I had sent out to vendors. He gave some great feedback and suggestions which helped my clients save time during their reception. He was very easy to communicate with and would get back to me in a timely matter.
On the day of the wedding, as soon as he arrived (as scheduled), he went straight to setting up the uplighting. He even made time to squeeze in a sound check for one of the performance we had planned later on that night. Although there was much to do, he and his assistant got it done without me having to nag and rush them. The rest of the night went by smoothly. He and I worked along side each other the whole time to ensure each segment started when it was suppose to start and ended when planned. My clients and I LOVE him! Would definitely refer him to future clients and for other events.
If you are reading this and debating whether or not to hire Steve, HIRE him. He is very experienced and know what he is doing. He is very open minded and will work with you to make your day special.

Steve is wonderful!!! We hired him as our wedding DJ/​MC and we couldn’t be happier. He met up with us before the wedding and helped with creating a timeline and using music we wanted. He also came to our home before the wedding to make sure everything would be amazing the day of our event. I can’t believe how great he was considering his reasonable prices.

Steve was a great DJ and MC! We had some special requests and he executed them very well. In fact, we were so impressed with him that we cancelled appointments with other DJ’s after meeting him.
He is very attentive and organized. He actually went to the wedding venue with me 3 months before the wedding to scope the configuration. His team and him showed up early on the actual day of the wedding. We had nothing to worry about!
For MC’ing, he was very good with following the schedule and was very entertaining. Our guests loved the show he put on for our reception games.
Steve has a wide selection of music and is very up to date. If he doesn’t already have the music, you’ll have to provide it. In our case, we had a lot of special Disney requests, so he didn’t necessarily have those, which is understandable. He can easily fade in and out of songs but he doesn’t have the capability to cut middle parts out.
He also offers lighting services. They were reasonably priced.
Lastly, he gave us very good advice on timing, making sure certain tasks were assigned and overall logistics to help us make the wedding smoother. He was awesome and reliable and I recommend him to everyone!!!

We love Steve!
The search for a wedding DJ can be exhausting. Most of us don’t hire MC/​DJs on a regular basis, and have no idea what to look for. I did a big Unilocal & Google search, followed by a few phone interviews with local DJs. Steve was quite clearly the warmest, most well-​spoken, and honest person I spoke with.
Not long before the wedding, I met with Steve to go over some details. He helped with my timeline, and gave me a list of songs we should pick. Oh right… it hadn’t occurred to me that we needed to pick more than just our first dance song! He also met me at our venue, so we could discuss the best set up for his equipment. This was immensely helpful!
On our wedding say, Steve showed up early to make sure everything was perfect. He played great music and everyone thought he was an excellent MC. He even set up some lights, which were a really fun surprise on the dance floor!
Hire these guys, and bring some comfortable dancing shoes!

I don’t write too many reviews… but when I think something is absolutely awesome I make it a point to stop everything I do to write one.
Shopping for a DJ/​MC for my wedding was a big stresser… we had a small, but very mixed group of close friends and family. There were «mid-​westerners» «ABC’s» «full on Chinese» «kids of a wide age range»…you name it, we had it. I was very concerned about everyone having a good time. We are not the bar-​hopping club-​visiting group so to say I was nervous was an understatement.
After meeting Steve it was obvious he had a lot of experience. He had ideas for games that would have the whole group excited. He helped me put together a timeline that made sure I planned for things that I didn’t even think about…(When/how were we going to do the grand entrance? How long/​short did I want the dances to be? When were we cutting the cake?) After our meeting (which by the way I showed up for on the wrong date and Steve still literally dropped his dinner fork for and sat right down with me.) I was less nervous, but nervous still.
Day of the wedding: Everything went as smoothly as a baby’s butt! Everything went according to plan and nothing felt rushed. Game time was awesome! Everybody was laughing and enthusiastic.
You can’t go wrong with Steve and his team. He has great ability to read the crowd, make everyone comfortable and ensure a good time.

We found High Resolutions through Unilocal thanks to the great reviews! We met Steve at his house and booked with him right away. We worked alongside with Mike and he was just as great as Steve. He was very flexible with his schedule to meet up with us and listened to everything we needed since we were so picky about the timeline.
Mike was a great MC/​DJ for our wedding! He literally kept the floor dancing all night long! And you know they’re good when people are dancing all night long.

It took me forever to book the DJ for our wedding – think I waited 3 months out to finally commit. We only had a few concerns when picking someone yet I was being very picky about who it would be. I stumbled upon Steve on Unilocal here and thought I would send him an email. We never got to meet Steve before the wedding because we were in Chicago planning a destination wedding, but I can’t begin to say how easy he was to work with and how he was one of our best vendors on our day.
I got numerous raves and compliments about Steve. EVERYONE loved him. He was professional, funny, and knew what he was doing. I sent him a brief list music list a week before the date and he was flawless with executing the music. I was so nervous about people not dancing at our wedding and worried if they would have fun and the dance floor was packed ALL night.
He kept things moving and was a fantastic MC. High Resolution Productions is very reasonable in cost and you definitely get way more for your money with their talent and professionalism.

I don’t remember how we exactly found High Resolution Productions (it may have just been a search for local DJs for our wedding). Mike was the DJ for our wedding as Steve was already booked for another event. They were pretty reasonably priced and were flexible with us in discussing a second sound system because we were have live music for the ceremony (keyboard and viola).
Pre-​wedding contact — Contact was easy and prompt. Mike offered some great suggestions for our Father Daughter/​Mother Son dance. Professionalism was one of the key items we were looking for in a DJ/​emcee and from beginning to end we felt very confident with the professionalism.
Wedding day performance (including setting up on time, appearance (equipment), assist as needed (mic for officiant, PA for musicians and audio hook-​up for video presentation), coordinate events with venue coordinator and photographers) — Mike did an excellent job on our wedding day. Everything was in place on time, Mike was flexible with changes and needs throughout the event especially with our last minute changes with amplifying our live musicians during the ceremony, Mike and the equipment was very professional and he did an excellent job moving our reception along. The only thing we were hoping for was a way to subtly get our best man to cut his speech shorter (but that’s not entirely his fault). Mike also had a great demeanor and sense of humor.
MC duties — Mike was great, he kept everything moving along and most importantly did a great job entertaining our guests.
Music — We were happy with all the music played. It was entertaining and we never felt that there was any inappropriate music played. I also think Mike did a great job with the loudness of the music. Loud enough for everyone to have a great time but not so loud that our older guests could enjoy too.

Steve was recommended to us by a friend and we couldn’t be happier! He spent time with us well in advance of the wedding to go over the timeline and flow of our reception. And when some of it didn’t go as planned (as you can expect from almost any wedding) we had some last minute changes. We must have called and emailed him at least 20 times in the last 48 hours before the wedding, but he was accommodating to all of our last minute requests and was well prepared to even back-​up as MC at the last minute!
Steve and his partner (can’t remember his name) were absolute professionals and stayed calm and worked out issues we had with space and with the some of the less than courteous personnel who worked at the church where we had our wedding.
Having a quality DJ with good equipment is crucial to any event with a lot of people and High Resolution really set the atmosphere and made our reception go as smoothly as it did.
Hire High Resolution and you’ll have one less thing to worry about on your big day!

Steve was the DJ for our wedding on 9−10−11! Steve was definitely our best vender. He met with us several times to go over the day of timeline and provided very good recommendations on the sequence of events as well as good suggestions for the games. Even though we were still working on a lot of the details up to the night before the wedding day, Steve was patient and helped guide us through. Still, we had no idea how the day would turn out, but we were pleasantly surprised at how well everything turned out. The games really got our entire crowd of 250 guests excited and the best part was, the music was able to get everyone to get on the dance floor and really get the party going. Everyone was so into it we had to extend the party till 10:30. Several of our guests came up to tell us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to and we have to credit Steve for making it happen.

Mike was the point person from High Resolutions for our wedding. Cool guy. Easy going, flexible, and full of suggestions. Both Mike and Steve were very good at being accessible, either via phone or email.
They have a varied music selection. They had all the songs that I wanted to hear at our reception! Also, they do a great job blending in the background. These aren’t DJs that will hog the scene and be the center of attention.
I absolutely recommend High Resolution to DJ your event.

My husband and I got married three weeks ago and we both agreed that High Resolution Productions was the BEST VENDOR at our wedding!!! Not only was Steve professional, he was eloquent, smooth, experienced, detail oriented, and gave us many great suggestions! We had two lengthy meetings with Steve and he is very prompt and very responsive to our e-​mails. Our wedding would not have been a success without Steve.
Steve also offered many valuable insights for our wedding, and facilitated our games without a glitch! His suggestions about timing as it relates to table visits during our reception and other items were valuable, and he played all the songs we have requested for our grand entrance, cake cutting, and etc.
When we first met Steve, we knew he was a genuine and honest guy! I would like to add that his prices are extremely affordable. A lot of other MC’s and DJ’s would charge a lot more! The MC is so important at any wedding as they set the tone for the wedding! Steve has done over 3,000 weddings!!!
Our reception was seamless and friends and family are still talking about how much fun they had at our wedding and what a blast it was that night. THANK YOU STEVE FOR MAKING OUR ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT AN UNFORGETTABLE AND MEMORABLE ONE!!! You are truly the best!!!

The best way to describe High Resolution is to compare them to local radio stations.
They’re a lot like MyFM or KOST, contemporary adult hits. They «enhance» versus «being» the event.
Some DJ’s are more like Power or KIIS where they are «the life of the party», telling jokes, doing embarrassing gags, and being over-​the-​top. While other DJ’s are like the WAVE, saying almost nothing at all but play music. All are fine, really depends on what you’re looking for.
With that said, their style is more mature, a tad refined. Aside from music, they keep the event moving along without being obtrusive. Call it a «gentle hand» that guides, almost like an event coordinator.
I’ve been to several weddings where they were a part of, always a positive experience. A Unilocal-​er called them «calm and collected», I agree. Twenty years in the business says a great deal.
Quick notes; they are professional, fees were fair, they dress formally, insured, and they keep to an itinerary (perhaps it explains their impeccable timing during my event).
Again, you won’t walk away saying, «That DJ was great!» You’ll walk away saying, «That EVENT was great!» If they did their job, you almost won’t even know they was there.
Thumbs up, I’d hire them again.

my wife and I really like what High Res did for our wedding. We were recommended by our other two friends that have utilized their services before. Calm and collected are the two words to best describe Steve and/​or Mike. For our wedding, we had Mike, but I’ve seen Steve do his thing at a wedding too. Price is great and reasonable. Don’t bother negotiating… it’s going to be a good deal.
Definitely recommended. i didn’t give them 5 stars because it was a tad hard to meet up in person.

Steve is the MAN! Our wedding was AWESOME thanks to his expertise and professionalism. I don’t know anyone who has more experience in weddings than Steve since he’s done over 2000 weddings. He knows exactly what to expect and when it should occur.
Prior to our wedding, my wife and I had a one on one meeting with Steve to go over some of the things we wanted at our reception. We didn’t know what to expect and Steve patiently guided us through every step of the way and provided us some valuable insight to our planning process.
The DJ at your wedding or any party is the heart and life of the party. Every beat must be timed perfectly to set the mood for the events to follow such as the first dance, cake cutting, etc. Steve did a marvelous job in setting the tone for our reception by gauging in the crowd and adjusting the music accordingly.
His Icebreaker really got the crowd loosened up and everyone had a blast at our wedding. By the end of the night, the dance floor was packed! Still getting plenty of compliments from family and friends.
