Me & my bf were looking for a quick spot to stop & eat before heading back home & came across this place on Unilocal.Literally a hole in the wall. but that’s the best kind ;) Ordered the Hangover Scramble & it was so good! Also we got our food in about 10 mins too. I would definitely come back here!

Literally a hole in the wall, this nice little café sits right in the midsole of a few shops. Great for breakfast and lunch. The indoor seating area is small but there is plenty of outdoor seating as well. Food was delicious, definitely prepared with fresh ingredients and the portions are good size. I was only visiting the area when my girlfriend and I stopped here, but I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality brunch.

Food was good, loved the papusas! Little bit of a wait for our food then a long wait and finally had to go up and get our check.

I really wanted to like this place… …but too many things went wrong during our visit and I won’t bore you with a detailed account. The biggest problem was the service — more accurately, a lack there of. We were waiting at our table for 15 minutes before any staff came to greet us and take our drink order. I was about to leave the restaurant when the waitress finally came up. This turned into the theme of our dining experience; waiting. The food was decent, but for the amount of money we paid my companions and I where absolutely dissatisfied.($ 45 for three people — before the tip)

Food is decent service is bad. Not saying the wait is horrible but the staff is unfriendly forgot our drinks remembered our drinks then forgot again and was not remotely apologetic. They are pretty much rude and not welcoming at all. I don’t write negative reviews on one experience but we had the same bad experience last year, needless to say with all the negative reviews on here and the staff being what it is we will not be going back.

Amazing! Beautiful location right near the beach. Great little building with lots of fun seating. I went with 6 friends and we all ordered different plates; each of us were very very satisfied. The Huevos Rancheros is the best I’ve ever had! The dishes there are creative and delicious. The wait was a little long but the waitress had no problem with putting on a TV channel we requested to watch while we waited. I cannot wait to go back, we’ll be driving from Gilroy =)

You have been warned. Do not come here. Service is very slow. They gave me the wrong order and told me it was for a different table. They said«you did not eat that» and I told them I did. I saw them take the meals and drop it off to the table in the front. The eggs were not over easy, they were raw. No ketchup salt pepper at table. No refills. Nothing after food was dropped off. Can’t believe how horrible it was here. Good was pretty good. Comparable to Denny’s.

Horrible, horrible service. My wife and I came here on a Saturday morning at 10:30am. No one greeted us. We signed in on their clipboard to get a table for two and waited for 15 minutes. No one spoke to us. Waitresses ignored us. No one was checking sign-in clipboard. The manager was busy doing paperwork in the kitchen and ignoring the long line of potential customers building at the front of the restaurant. Many existing customers were done with their meals, but there was no one busing tables nor giving customers their checks. There were also tables in the back that were open, but no one was seating customers. Amazing. We eventually left and went to the Red Apple Café where we were cheerfully greeted.

Best times to come in are before nine and after 12 noon. We came in right at 1:30pm and our service has been amazing and the food is delicious. There are only a few other people in here. This place is usually jam packed. The BLT is excellent. My mom had the breakfast croissant and my daughter ordered a quesadilla. All just very delicious!

Waited to be seated and no one… Not even a greeting for about 10 minutes. Servers were walking by one after another. Then we were sat at a dirty table and the server wiped it down in front of us. The rag smelled rotten and stunk up the entire space around us. My mother in law wiped the table down with some hand sanitizer. We were never offered drinks. Eventually a server walked in and asked the entire room if anyone needed anything. ENTIREROOM. We walked out. We were skeptical about food quality being that they were so far understaffed and poorly managed. Place was quaint and a hole in the wall but good service cannot be compromised no matter what the venue.

Not worth the wait. Food is mediocre and service is terrible. Waited over an hour for biscuits that tasted fishy :(

Stayed at the Best Western up the street and before leaving, we wanted something more substantial than the freebie one the hotel gives as part of the stay. Found this thanks to Siri and we got there about 8:45am. Perfect time. Nobody else was there. Overall, very good food, nice experience and the staff person was very attentive. Food looked very attractive and tasted even better. It’s not super cheap but it’s very good and the menu is quite versatile. It was a very nice way to end graduation weekend with the family as we headed out of town. Nice place to have breakfast. Their lunch menu looked good too.

Now open later — Pupusas are very good! No kids menu but a cheese Pupusas with a side of rice & beans will work. AND yes you can get breakfast for dinner but you have to ask.

Great little spot for breakfast or lunch. As others have mentioned, the huevos rancheros is a must try if you’re into that. Get it with the chorizo! I love coming here when we stay at a beach house on Beach Drive, the short walk to it, and you can run up and down the stairs on the beach several times and reward yourself with a breakfast after. I really wanted to try their lobster enchiladas also that were advertised on the specials chalkboard, but when I tried to order it I was told they were out of lobster. Boohoo!

My good friend Liz brought me here for birthday breakfast this morning. THANKYOU Liz… love you!!! We had to seat ourselves even though there were plenty of staff on the floor. There was only room outside and they were out of propane in the outdoor heaters. No bueno! The Huevos Rancheros was really good but it took us 40 minutes to get our food. Service 2 stars maybe!

Ambience is cute, but we sat next to a window sill covered in dust and cobwebs. Service was terrible. Our waitress did the bare minimum and wasn’t even good at that. I found the food mediocre and overpriced at best. I’m very disappointed because I read good reviews online and this place is very close to my house. I was hopeful that this place was going to be our new breakfast place. My husband had the Greek omelet and I had huevos rancheros. Both were pretty flavorless. He didn’t finish his.

This place really is a hole in the wall. It has about 8 tables inside and a few more in the patio. The Huevos Rancheros w/chorizo did not disappoint. The only addition I would add is some more heat(as in spicy) to the Huevos but in an effort to cater to everyone I can see why it’s neutral. If I’m ever in Aptos again I will stop and eat there again for sure.

We tried this place out on a Sunday morning just before 8 am and there was NOBODY there yet. The server was very nice, showed us to our table and when I asked for a suggestion, she told me the Juevos Rancheros. I took her advice, and ordered homefries on the side. My husband got the breakfast burrito with hashbrowns. The Juevos Rancheros were very tasty, except for the salsa. It did not taste freshmade, and was almost a bit watery(whcih soaked the rest of the food on the plate). And although I ordered my eggs over easy, one of them came out with the yolk fully cooked. Oh well. Still very good, just maybe hold the salsa. The homefries I was a bit disappointed in. There was a distinct lack of seasoning, the potatoes were not browned, almost watery, and the peppers and onions had the consistency of previously frozen veggies. My hubby’s hasbornws were much better, but also underseasoned. While I did not try it, my husband really liked the breakfast burrito. Not sure if we will add this to our normal rotation, but I might be willing to give it another shot. The specials were posted as we were leaving around 9 and included grilled plantains and coconut pancakes. Maybe next time!

I’m tempted to give this 3 stars, but the fact that their hash browns and omelette were served to almost perfection, I bumped it to 4. It’s a small restaurant, and it seems almost understaffed on a Saturday morning, but I really enjoyed how hard the staff worked. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for some quality breakfast with a great price.
