I have been here twice with co-workers. The atmosphere is nice, and the food is good(I ordered something different each time and would eat both dishes again), however the service and business practice leaves something to be desired. On both occasions, the server(a different one both times) didn’t seem all that familiar with the menu, however they took the order without writing it down. They then had to come back to the table to ask more questions. While the food is good, the descriptions of the food aren’t entirely accurate, coming with different toppings than what was described. The servers sometimes seemed confused when asked for something that was clearly listed as an option on the menu(such as green vs red sauce). The really weird thing though is that they don’t keep change in the restaurant. They keep bills, but not coins. So if you pay in cash they are unable to give you exact change, however they don’t tell you this. They just short you whatever the loose change would have been. This happened on each visit(my co-workers have gone more often than I have and it’s happened every time) and it wasn’t until we asked about the discrepancy that they said they don’t keep change. I have never heard of a business knowingly giving incorrect change with no acknowledgement of it. I don’t know how they can keep accurate books this way. If you tend to pay with a card, and don’t mind slightly annoying service, the food really is good. If you pay with cash, make sure you don’t actually want to get back change.

Best oysters. Amazing tortillas. Not your typical tex Mex. Amazing quality and worth the price and the wait. Please keep this place open. Antioch needs more places like this. #nosonics

I think the restaurant looks very nice and is very cute inside. The service was good and the food didn’t taste all that bad. I enjoyed my short visit here. I had the sizzling chicken and it tasted pretty good. Chips and Salsa were plenty so no worries there.

We were starving and decided to give this place a shot. We just decided to order one of each taco and split them. Each taco was amazing. The tortillas were fresh and the meat and sauces were all great. Service was good. Prices were reasonable, but definitely higher than your typical«Mexican» restaurant. I’ll gladly pay a little more for the better quality food and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We came here early on a Friday night craving carne asada. Our wishes were fulfilled. Overall the food is pretty good. Not some place we’d write home about but good enough to try again in a year or so. The steaks were cooked to order and the sides were decent.

I’m here as we speak and it’s horrible. Service is ridiculous. I need a refill and I can’t find my server…

I think this has been the worst food I have gotten in some time. The chicken tenders were underdone and not seasoned. The fries were shoestring which mean cheap. The guacamole was just OK… gave me the traditional chips nothing original. Don’t stop… keeping driving.

Tasty food, great service! The fresh tortillas are a nice touch. We’ve been here twice and have left impressed both times. Great to see some nicer options here in Antioch.

This might sound odd, but I heard about this place because the local news featured them a month or so ago. They’d recently opened & then that crazy guy did what he did at the 2 dollar movie theatre next door. I thought to myself, ‘we should try them out’. Anyway, I found them on here & bookmarked them. We were in the area because I wanted to see if global market was stocking Asian food(they’re not & I think might be closing down). Back to the subject at hand, Mexican food. We stopped in a little before noon on a Sunday. The hostess was a younger girl wasn’t too friendly, didn’t seem like she was happy to be at work. I get it, but a fake smile goes a long way. We were sat at a large, U shaped booth in the bar area. We had only been seated for a minute or so when a live band started playing. Wow. It was so loud that we both looked at each other & said we had to move somewhere else. We asked the hostess & we moved to the far corner of the restaurant. I think it’s great they have live music, but it’s a little jostling before noon on a Sunday morning. I think they might’ve had an amplifier on the guitar that wasn’t needed. Even in the far corner it was loud. Later on during our meal, another couple with baby moved next to us because of the noise. The menu. We had a lunch menu to look at, along with a brunch menu & a cocktails menu. I decided on the nachos al Carbon with chicken for $ 9. Phillip ordered the combo fajitas for $ 14 bucks, but when the bill came it was $ 13. Our server was friendly & attentive. The chips were warm which is always a plus for me. The salsa was okay, the spices in it tasted a little burnt or stale. I couldn’t put my finger on it. As with most Mexican restaurants, our food came out fast. My nachos were hUGE(as Donald Trump would say). Lots of chicken & cheese on it, peppers, black beans & corn. The Pico de gallo, sour cream & guacamole were on the nachos too. The portion of that stuff didn’t really equal out to the size of the nachos. The fajitas had an even smaller portion of pico, sour cream & guacamole. The chicken & steak in the fajitas were pretty dry, & the tortillas didn’t come warm or in a little box to keep them warm. The fajitas did come with 4 large shrimp, which is pretty good, usually places put those little ones that you’d find in a Red Lobster salad. Who knew shrimp could be so small. Overall I enjoyed the meal. It didn’t blow my socks off. The music pretty loud & left me with a headache. I wouldn’t have an opposition to coming back here, but I don’t know if I’d ever say ‘I gotta eat here again’.

How wonderful to find a neighborhood place that is both comfortable, affordable and special at the same time. The décor is authentic and tasteful as is the food taste and presentations. Menu choices are extensive! My friend had frajitas, and I the ½ charbroiled chicken and potatoes. The fajitas were sizzling hot, the char on the chicken flavorable. The starter was ceviche and was loaded with whole medium sized shrimp. Guac was excellent and the freshly made corn tortillas the best. Service was excellent. Although hungry when we entered, there was excess food to take home.

The menus were filthy; crusty food spots on all of them. The chips were warm and the picante sauce was very good. Our server was sweet, but not attentive. We ordered an appetizer, gaucamole mocajete, made fresh at our table. The problem was, they finished preparing it just as we were finishing our entrée. Small portion size contributed to the terrible timing of the server. Prices are a little steep; they won’t survive in this neighborhood. Tasty food, poor execution, over priced food and a cleanliness issue. We will not return.

If I could leave negative stars I would. The portions were unimaginably small, and the entrée we ordered was half frozen. Lastly, the waiter took 45 minutes to bring us our check back(mind you… He said it was a slow day). Someone would have to pay me big bucks to return back, and even then I would spend my money elsewhere.

Really happy to see some nicer restaurant options popping up in Antioch. Joselitos is right next to the cinema on Bell Road. Really nice décor and ambience. We sat at the bar. Our dining partners had some oysters and said they were great. The chips and salsa were good, the chips were a bit greasy but could have just been this batch. We tried a sampling of tacos and enchiladas and were overall impressed. First and foremost, they make their own tortillas which are vastly superior to the normal Mexican restaurant fare. Of the taco varieties that we tried, my favorites were the chorizo and the barbacoa tacos. The chorizo was smoky and just spicy enough without being overwhelming. The barbacoa was very flavorful and tender. The carnitas taco had really good flavor but was a bit too greasy which promptly turned the tortilla underneath into a soggy mess. Bonus points for the pickled onions though which really offset the rich carnitas. I ordered a side of rice which was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. House margaritas were pretty good. Not cloyingly sweet like you’ll find in some restaurants. Service from our bartender was friendly and prompt although the bar was not that busy. Pricing was just about in line with the overall experience. There were some pricey menu options but also plenty of reasonable ones. Definitely more than you would pay at Casa Fiesta down the road but the experience is also more upscale. Joselito’s is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the Antioch area and craving some Latin cuisine.

We found this wonderful restaurant by accident and really enjoyed every bit of our meals. The top shelf guacamole, made fresh at our table was out of this world. All of our entrees were very good, but the seafood stuffed pineapple half was especially tasty. We will be coming back to savor some more of their selections. Welcome to Antioch Joselitos!

So I’ve been craving oysters all week and decided to try this place out. The five of us ordered 5 different entrées. The shrimp taco was as if they’d popped a tortilla in a George Foreman grill filled with two pieces of shrimp and a slice of(maybe) craft cheese. Tamales had a few pinches of chicken and I would’ve preferred a taco truck. My daughters order was forgotten. Oysters! They were the size of baby clams served with a red sauce, maybe cream cheese, and some other side that resembled diced beets and vinegar. I asked the server for cocktail sauce and he brought back the sauce it had already came with. So I tasted the sauce which was red and watery, like hot sauce. It was watered down cocktail sauce! The restaurant décor looks neat and clean, inside and out, but we won’t be back. If you’re looking for Spanish food in the Antioch area, don’t waste your time. Head to Casa Fiesta and Camino Real.

Nice addition to the Antioch/Hickory Hollow neighborhood. We were seated right in view of the kitchen, so can actually say from our view, it appeared to be very busy and clean. Friendly staff and overall clean restaurant. I love fish tacos, so I had to try them at Joselito’s and was not disappointed at all — grilled tilapia was season perfect & the slaw with the chipotle sauce was awesome– loved it. Husband order the taco salad with chicken looked really good, but not a fan. Great cocktail and beer selections. Overall a nice experience and would return.

Went with a friend who is native to the cuisine and when we entered, I noticed every table had at least one latin occupant. That set a lofty expectation and Joselito didn’t disappoint. Amazing service, generous portions, delicious fare, all with live music and an upscale latin but comfortable setting. One hiccup, the drinks were so-so. Tried their mojito and it was pretty bland. Top shelf margarita was next and it was tasty but didn’t have the punch I’m accustomed to for a premium drink. They’ll get there though. go give them some practice.
