History

Established in 2015.

Millicent Boen graduated with a business degree from The University of Alabama, and her husband, Randy Boen studied music at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. After being a touring musician for 20 years, Randy took a break from the road and together they purchased a bar. Residents of South Nashville, they wanted to bring a unique experience to that side of town. A music venue and club where the atmosphere and relaxed vibe provides a gathering place for those who appreciate music in all its forms. Bringing rock, soul, funk, blues, jazz and even a little classic country to an area which has been starving for great entertainment for years, The Night Owl is a place where the very best in local entertainment gather just to see what is next. Come see what the buzz is all about!

This is walking distance from my house, and my buddy plays the Jazz jams on Sunday nights, so I’ve been several times. First, the ONLY reason it’s not 5 stars (wish I could do 4.5. That’s my actual rating): NO DRAFT BEER. So so so sad. The second that changes I’ll be a much more frequent customer. For now I get a PBR tallboy because it’s dirt cheap and even the bottle selection offers nothing worth spending more for :(
The plentiful good things: chill place, good variety of live music, always cool bartenders, and FOOOOOOD. The garlic Parmesan fries are a must. The wings are excellently prepared, with custom designed sauces mixed up individually for each order. (The «kitchen sink» sauce is fantastic – a bit of everything). Great selection of burgers for a full meal if you want, and happy hour drink deals 5 – 7 M-​F.

Divey & fun. They serve drinks and food well into the night. The beer selection is okay. The food is a-​ight. The servers are cool people. It can be pretty loud, so don’t expect to have intimate conversations, but it is a bar that plays music, so you probably shouldn’t expect that in the first place.

If you’re in this part of town you MUST come here!
No doubt, this is one of the best dives in town. Beer, drinks, ping pong, pool, nice people, jello shots (!!), and just a rollocking good time. The DJ was amazing. The bartender was was never too far.
Some nights are made for being civilized. The rest are made for places like the Night Owl. I’m a huge fan. I’ll be back!

Great vibe, delicious burgers and wings. The house sauce «stash» is to die for. The staff is excellent and the music is awesome. Great prices on food and drinks. Only place to get a PBR for $ 2.00 wow! Highly recommend this place!

Great music, food and all around vibe. I play music there on the regular. As far as that goes it’s a treat. Very comfortable room, not too big, not too small. Great spot to go hear local talent, which in Nashville is world class talent.

Friendly, fast service and clean local bar. Delicious traditional wings and chilli cheese fries! If you are craving those… this place will not disappoint!
There’s a huge bar when you walk in and to the left is additional seating and the band stage. They have their own parking lot and we always find a spot. We’ve enjoyed the local musicians here also
There’s also a ping-​pong table and pool table in the back. Several TVs also for those looking for a hangout to watch a game. lt’s non-​smoking now which when Spankys, the smoking was deterring!
Now this is our go-​to local bar!

Our band was invited to play at The Night Owl and I have to say I was surprised. It’s a well designed space (on the small side but well laid out with plenty of seating and entertainment), regular live music, and friendly and attentive staff. Look, I’m no expert on this area of Nolensville Road-​area Antioch, but there’s no other watering hole I would send friends in the area.

Great food, great music, GREAT STAFF… although I might be a little bias ;)…Try one of our delicious burgers!!! They are all great but my personal favorite is The Carlin with the fried egg. you will not be disappointed!!!

I love the environment! The only thing I would improve in would be the burgers. I ordered just s plain cheeseburger and ended up sending it back twice due to it being burnt and having no flavor. The fries were not salted either. I think this might just be the cook’s fault as the owner is cool as hell! All in all, amazing little bar!

The Night Owl is a Hoot. The girl behind the bar was funny and served me a delish Johnny Cash Burger that went well with the cabernet sauvignon I sipped. A young and older crowd of south Nashville folks were into the rocking live music played from the modest stage by three cute wacky musicians. The Cash Burger was worth the $ 8 and above average for bar fare. I’llbe back sometime to this easygoing community bar for more drinking, music and karaōke. OMY Night Owl Bar & Grill is AOK.
