Golden State Towing

Have AAA insurance and when a tire went flat in my drive Golden state was called out. The driver was frankly an ass when he arrived must have had a bad am but after he was here for a minute he became nicer and finished with a smile. I later found I thought a part was missing and the driver mistakenly took it, in fact he had not but supervisor Darren Wilkinson answered my call and even when he was aware the driver had never even touched the part he was going to replace it with out question. OMG I’m a woman, hate car things and always get screwed when dealing in auto and everything else for that matter but this guy was going to help me when it was not his problem, job or responsibility. He came over to see the truck to confirm the part needed and to both of our surprise found the part where the dealership said it was not supposed to be. God bless you Darren, your a gentleman and an excellent business man. I truly am thankful for his help, he is a kind and good human.

This is one of the worst towing company I have ever done business with. Several times they hung up on me while trying to conduct business over the phone! Very unprofessional! All of my daughters belongings were stolen out of her car, while at this tow lot! We had been working with our insurance, since the vehicle was a total loss! What a joke for a business! This company is worthless, along with it’s employees! Never do business with this tow company-​they will steal anything left in your car!

Today I called AAA for road side service. My van had to be towed. What excellent customer service I received! Thank you Bert and Curtis! I highly recommend Golden State Towing.

I had a dead car and called AAA for a tow. They send out Golden State with an ETA of 60 minutes.
Paul from Golden State arrived in less than 40 minutes, diagnosed the problem, FIXED the problem so my car would start and got us back on the road to the mechanic in less than 15 minutes.
Cannot express how much I appreciate Golden State and especially Paul!

Golden state towing is a very professional towing company I was very impressed with their dispatcher Debbie, a very knowledgeable lady. i was in distress and she was helpful, got me a nice tow truck man to come rescue me in reasonable time… never really took the time ro realize how important their jobs are… until you’re out in the road needing the help. btw i dont know what darla b is talking about might be one of those nightmare customers that want the impossible done.

Avoid them, bad experience. AAA sent this towing company out after we had an
accident and needed the car towed. Not sure of where to have the car towed,
I asked the driver if he was familiar with Gamboas body shop, as I had heard
that they were an excellent shop from some friends. He says, «no, never heard of that company», and I say ‘really, I thought that they had a couple of shops
in town”, he says «no» don’t know of them”… wish that I’d had my smart phone
with us, but didn’t, so he suggested that they tow it to their yard, and then
they’ll tow it to a body shop once we figure out where to take it… so…after
getting home and googling Gamboas, we find out that they are actually one of
largest, oldest, locally owned shops in the sacramento area, and they have
3 locations. So, it takes them over 2 days to take it to Gamboas, and it
looks like it’s going to be 100 – 150 dollars for their ‘storage’ fees, plus the
two times that it need to be towed. To sum it up, they’re just a bunch of
lying, dishonest people that should be avoided at all costs. So, what should have been just one simple tow job, ends up being a couple of wasted days of the car sitting
in storage ($$), and an extra tow job ($$).
Will also be forwarding this to AAA to let them know what kind of company that
they’re giving their money and why the prices are so high.

Golden state towing is the only people I’d trust to tow my vehicle. They have pride in what they do, all there Driver’s are trained and very respectful and helpful. I feel what’s even greater is there auto repair service. There mechanics are trained and certified and they don’t want an arm and a leg for payment very reasonable compared to competitors. There work is trustworthy and stand by their services. Once again I wouldn’t want anyone touching my vehicle besides this fine establishment.

My car broke down on highway 80 the guy came he was very nice asked us questions he was trying to figure out what was wrong with the car and he told me that it was probably my timing belt and he was correct my timing belt had broken. And I was concerned about how much money it would be he told me that there is no charge for the towing is were taking it to his yarn and they’re going to try to work on it and fix it there was going to be no charge for them holding it for however many days they were only going to charge for the inspection and how much it cost to fix it they were very nice people I recommend them to everybody because I’ve never had to get my car towed and they had excellent service. The guy even gave me his card and wrote his name on it and his name is Michael and I appreciate all the help that they did for me

I had a recent experience with Golden State Towing when my car battery was two seconds away from being dead. I knew it was on its last leg and that my car probably wouldn’t start in the morning, so I gave AAA a call and they sent out Golden State Towing to test and replace my battery.
Immediately after calling AAA, I received a call from Golden State confirming the purpose of my call and letting me know it would be about 60 – 75 minutes before they could come out to replace my battery which was ok with me since I was at home.
The driver «Paul» arrived in less than 60 minutes and got to work right away. He tested my battery to make sure it was dead and that it was the battery and not the alternator. He explained everything that he was doing as he was doing it which was very helpful.
In less than 30 minutes we found out that it was my battery (which was 4 years old and they usually last 3 – 5) and that there were no other problems so he replaced it with a new one and we were done! I love AAA because all I had to pay for was the battery, everything was so easy and didn’t require a ton of work on my part.

Beware of Golden State Towing! My vehicle wouldn’t start today so I called AAA and they sent out Golden State Towing. The driver named Bert told me that the battery was dead and that he could either jump start it or that he could sell me a new battery. I asked him how much a new battery would cost and he said that the total cost would be $ 102.99 installed. Since the battery was about 3 years old, I decided to buy a new battery. After he installed the battery, he told me that the total charge was $ 121.99. When I asked Bert why the total wasn’t $ 102.99 installed, he told me that the prices had recently increased but that he had forgotten!
It was the old bait and switch game that con men use.
AVOID THIS TOWING SERVICE AND THEIR SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES!

Golden State picked up my wife’s car after an accident. They stored it overnight. The driver was helpful and courteous. When we picked up the car, they were professional and fair. There was a little confusion about the bill, but they set it right immediately. They took care of the vehicle and delivered to our home the next day. The driver delivering the car was accommodating and helpful.
I would use their service again.

Re call #667. Early morning tow needed to auto shop as broken hose fell apart after smog test. I called AAA and Alfred Burleson arrived shortly. He had to first back the vehicle out of a lonnnnnnnng driveway for street access. He then maneuvered the vehicle up on his tow truck.
After recently retiring from a customer service occupation, I appreciated Mr. Burleson’s fantastic customer service and cheerfulness. Kudos for a job well done and keep up the great attitude.

Javier H. was a great Roadside Serviceman. He was friendly and eager to help me with my disabled vehicle. I would hope to get an employee like him anytime I find myself stranded with vehicle issues. He was great and gave me his card so if I had any further problems I could contact him so he could personally follow up.

I purchased a new battery from AAA in January. I started having problems three months ago when the car wouldn’t start and required charging. A month later the same thing happened.
I called AAA again and they sent Jim from Golden State Towing. He gave me a boost and did a diagnostic test and said I should recharge the battery at 2 amps for at least nine hours. If it didn’t work to call his personal phone and he would come back. A week later the car failed to start.
I called Jim and it took him less then an hour to show up. He did another diagnostic and found there was a problem with the battery. He called AAA and got authorization to replace the battery at no charge.
Jim was very knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend him to anyone needing assistance with their vehicle. He commented very favorably about his employer which is an indication that Golden State is a reputable firm.

The management was nice enough to listen to my personal problem when I told them my wife couldn’t be present during the tow since she was the cardholder.
Afterwards the tow guy helped me figure out what the problem was with my car before leaving.

I called AAA to get my car towed and AAA send out Golden State Towing to tow my car home. The driver (s) broke my window trying to get into my passenger side door, which wouldn’t have been that big of deal because the driver said he was going to talk to the owner and have them fix my window in the morning. However, upon me calling the company the next day, after not hearing from them, the receptionist said that no one had told her anything and that the manager doesn’t work the weekends and that it should have been repaired the day of the issue.
After talking to her, she said that they would call me back and let me know the resolution. No one called me back and I called back to see what the fix would be and one of the drivers answered the phone and said that they MIGHT be able to fix it on Monday… 3 days AFTER they broke the window in below freezing weather.
To this moment, I have not been contacted about any resolution and I would never recommend this company to anyone. Upon looking on the BBB this company has a «D» rating… look for a different company or if AAA says they are being sent to you, tell them you’ll wait for a better rated company to arrive.

When my car stalled last week AAA sent this towing company to pick me up. They got there pretty quickly. The driver though that my fuel pump was the problem and convinced me to tow it to their shop as it was after hours and my truck would have to sit outside all night. I reluctantly agreed, biggest mistake I ever made.
After having my truck for two days they finally told me that they needed to replace my fuel pump and since it was now Friday afternoon they would not be able to get to it until Monday. I had enough of this shop, thru out the two days the mechanic never called me to give updates, I had to call every 3 hours. Finally decided to get it towed to Midas Friday afternoon to find out that the only problem my truck had was that it was out of gas. I have heard about how shady and dishonest mechanics can be and up til now had not personally experienced something this blatantly wrong.
If anyone reads this and is considering using this shop, please think again.
