THIS IS A GREAT PLACE! VERY HONEST
I have an old Dodge pickup that I recently installed a new engine. Showed Sangs all the receipts and a previous failed smog test from 1 week prior. Sangs told me that I had a clear case for a referee to review this and pass the truck without spending any money with him. I already had an appointment scheduled with a referee but the appointment was about 1 month out. My quickest way of getting this truck back on the road was to get a passing smog test
Sangs ran the test and the truck this time PASSED! WooHoo. Later that same day I received the plates from DMV and the truck was back on the road.
The bottom line is that Sangs didn’t have to tell me anything. The truck would have passed smog and I would still be very happy. The facts are that Sangs went out of his way to explain that there was a lower costly solution to obtaining a smog certificate since I had already spend way above the required cost limits ($ 650 per California’ s smog rules). Sang’s was very honest. Just from this fact alone I will only use him whenever I need a vehicle smogged again.
PS: DMV still sucks.

Owner is a very nice man, I was charged the $ 45 in total, it took about 10 minutes or less, I was in and out. He handed me a water once I walked in, I thought that was very nice. This is a pricate business which I am always for, good business, good service, why not. I recommend this place to nayone that needs their Smog check.

Seriously though, wtf is a STAR smog check and why am I required to go to one? I have done nothing suspicious to warrant this scrutiny by the CA DMV.
Anyway, I looked up Sang’s Smog and it is STAR certified, had awesome reviews (thanks again Unilocal!), and a decent price for the area ($ 37+$ 8 CA Fee = $ 45 total). The owner is super nice and courteous; he pulled a chair out for me to sit on, offered an assortment of reading materials, grabbed me an ice cold bottle of the tastiest natural spring water this side of the Rockies, Kirkland® Mountain Spring Water, and then I helped myself to a coffee candy. Next thing I know I have passed my smog check and my results have been uploaded to the cloud.
As far as Smog Check experiences go, hands down the best one I have ever and will ever have.

What can I say, great customer service and price! Got there right at 5:30pm and he still took my car in! I jusy had to wait for his last car :) very friendly and helpful!

It’s in a weird location but don’t let that deter you! Sang’s is quick, easy and cheap. Service was friendly and I was offered a water bottle while I waited. No one enjoy’s going to get their car smogged so Sang’s made it a little less painful.

Walked up and was immediately helped. Shook my hand and introduced himself. Very friendly. Went over it then handed me a bottle of water (ice cold) and then finished up the smog. Hole in the wall place but excellent service.

I brought my car here back in June. The service was great. I was greeted promptly and given an ice cold water. The service was quick. I was able to get it done while on my lunch break. Don’t have any complaints at all. I will continue to come here from now on and refer anyone needing of a smog.
