Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel

The location and amenities were great. However, our room was very dated and needed upgrades to the carpet. The room smelled moldy and we had no temperature control in the room.
Room service was timely and the bartender was great. Food was okay, large portions and filling. Loved the fireworks from the parking lot. Free water bottles was nice.
Probably won’t book again unless they upgrade the rooms though.

Nice room, lots of space, comfortable bed, very clean and appears recently updated. The breakfast buffet was all fresh and such a great idea before a day at the parks. Free shuttle to/​from Disney 2x an hour.
Be careful when you are making your reservation though. I accidentally booked a premium castle room with a king bed, expecting the castle bunk beds, but the bunk bed rooms are listed slightly differently and sell out quickly. We were able to upgrade for half our stay when a room became available, but it was a hassle to pack up halfway through.
Would definitely book again.

Truly unfortunate management response… our family booked a trip to stay here for the weekend. Turns out we had a family emergency a few days before the trip and couldn’t make it. We called to cancel our fully paid for reservation and the management would not offer any sort of refund. I’m sure it was wishful thinking to assume a hotel that 100% profit’s on the «Disney» experience would respond as Disney would in a similar situation. I am in Anaheim often with friends and family and will never recommend this place purely based on this experience… sad.
Stick to Disney hotels and larger chain hotels closer to the park…

!!!Stop!!! If you love your family, don’t stay here unless you want to be lied to, stay in a room with black mold and hair in the tub and on the wall in the bathroom, and black mold in the lobby bathroom, defective fire doors being propped open with rubber door stops, open exposed wiring, bus with a bad sensor that needs to be repeatedly restarted enroute, TV with approximately 20 stations that are mislabeled without a guide, a sewage smell in the first room, and a dangerous sharp metal weather stripping door sweep sticking out from the door several inches making it so we couldn’t safely utilize that door (with an oblivious 4 year old) to get out to the pool, as well as it created a gap which allowed bugs to enter our room.
We saved for two years to take our 4 yr old to Disneyland. Unfortunately, she developed a fever on the flight in of 102*. When we checked in and told the lady at the desk the situation with my child, she said that the room we’d been assigned was on the 3^rd floor and was not ready yet (which was not unexpected as we arrived prior to the check-​in time) but that she’d ask housekeeping to prioritize it. We then requested a room on the 1^st floor close the pool so we could cool our daughter off, and she told us there were none available, but that we could utilize the pool while we waited. Our third floor room was ready early, but when we asked about the 1^st floor option, she was suddenly able to make it happen, and early, even though we’d been told there were no rooms available. We moved into the 1^st floor room, which had obvious dust in the room and grime on the back of the bathroom door which made it apparent it had been unoccupied for a time. We then began to hear construction noise as our daughter was trying to nap. Later in the evening, a rotten egg smell began emanating from the bathroom. We notified the front desk who promptly offered us the room across the hall (interesting that was available if everything was booked).
I was upset that we’d been lied to about the availability of rooms on the first floor, until we asked repeatedly for one, and one magically was available, as well as some of the safety hazards I mentioned initially. I made 8 attempts to contact K. P. the General Manager, someone in sales, or another manager. I left 3 notes at the desk, two voicemails, and left a message with every supervisor on every shift. Finally, after I called a GM from another sister community in Lake Tahoe (who was very helpful), I received a call from the GM 15 minutes later. In the meantime, the desk staff would just tell me that they would not be offering a refund, which I did not ask for until I got a less than compassionate phone call from the GM.
My whole intent initially was to talk to somebody who cared about our situation and to get the phone number for the corporate office or the GM’s superior in order to relay my concerns about safety of the property. Every person I spoke to said there was no such number for Tsubaki Hotel Collection in the United States, and they took care of problems in-​house. The in-​house response was not acceptable. I felt like I was talked in circles without any real solutions to the safety concerns I presented. I was a plant operation manager, I know what to look for in terms of building safety and OSHA standards, and I took pictures of the multiple dangerous violations I found in our room and around the building, which I intend to submit to OSHA and local inspectors.
When we initially checked in, we were not told that moving from the 3^rd to first floor was an upgrade. However, we were told later by the GM that they had upgraded us at no additional charge as the solution to our complaints (no complaints were made until after we took our first room). We did not request an «upgrade» in the first place.
Our experience had some highlights. I want to acknowledge the prompt and courteous service of the housekeeping department, the comfortable and clean beds and pillows, the general cleanliness of the common areas, and that we enjoyed the pool even though there was quite a bit of natural debris floating around in it. We also appreciated the prompt and convenient service of the shuttle buses to and from Disneyland, including the addition of shuttle runs when crowds were larger than expected, and the kind and caring service of William, one of the shuttle drivers, on several occasions.
I would suggest that you research any hotel that you are looking at staying and make sure that it is locally owned (at least somewhere in the United States), so that if there are concerns, there will be someone that can respond directly.

I made a reservation here online a week in advance and even called to make sure it was completely paid for so there was no problem for my fiancees’s birthday. When I arrive they tell me I had to pay again because the payment online was only for a reservation not to actually book a room. Horrible customer service and a waste of time! I am so disappointed

We hold company events at this hotel a couple times a year and I really enjoy staying here. Its not fancy but the rooms are huge and always clean. The food in the restaurant isn’t great but they do a great job on banquets, under the leadership of Frank Alzaeim. Frank is the best!

Just returned from a 3-​night stay at the Majestic. I was worried about staying close to the park after reading so many reviews about dirty rooms or out dated plumbing at other locations. This place was awesome.
We spent a few extra bucks to upgrade to the latest refurbished rooms which are amazing for the kids. My daughter felt she was truly staying in a castle. Very clean, easy to get to, and helpful staff.
The shuttle was great. We stayed until close the first night and the first shuttle after close filled up but luckily one came in right behind it.
I would highly recommend staying here for your Disney adventure.

I was really worried after checking in and then reading the Unilocal reviews for this place.
The hotel lobby is cute. I think the thing to keep in mind is that the rooms are very very basic. Our room’s furniture and carpet was pretty stained. The bathrooms are oddly small. You can’t get in the shower with the door open, it’s odd. Even using the sink is a little odd because the toilet is right there behind you.
The staff checking in was nice. The bellman was very nice. The waiter that brought us our room service was very nice. The housekeeper that brought the crib was sweet and the shuttle driver was the nicest man ever! Everyone was very pleasant!
Rooms are a little pricey for what you’re getting. They give you 2 free bottles of water each day which was nice. The room service was overpriced and the food was ok. Not the best but not the worst.
Our stay would have been 5 stars until the last day. We are in the restaurant before checking out. Staff seemed to hate their jobs, stood around talking the entire time. I asked for a drink refill twice, never got one. Then later that night came the food poisoning (I ate nothing else that day).
Because of that I probably would not return.

What a huge disappointment maybe the Sheraton should have just done a big remodel & not sold this hotel! First off we arrived and a nice gentlemen held the door open for us…1 Star. Second the sundries store was a deli with a great selection of snacks & drinks…1 Star.
Here’s where they lost 3 stars… check in line wasn’t awful but the no Personality front desk gal who checking us in was. First off why do you charge $ 100 additional to my card without telling me until I find out the next morning??? If have my card on file & my first night on a deposit hold there is no need to charge me extra for «incidentals»!! Any respectable hotel would have charge them to the room with an open card on file!!! Then there is the air in the room which by the way you can not control if it get’s hot or cold in there just «low, mid or high on the fan part of the air. Our room was so hot and stuff & that was on high 70 but he bathroom was cold!!! How do you do that??? Any other hotel let’s you choose weather you want cold or hot air blowing in your room! Don’t feed me that crap about energy conservation because that shower head was full blast… about the only good about the room. The bathroom had paint bubbling on the bottom corners of the wall. Bed’s were uncomfortable and it was HOT in my room!!!
Sorry Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel I am canceling my reservations for May & staying else where for the Tinkerbell Run!!! Don’t think I am not going to let at least 10 of my friends who reserved a room there for the same event & have them cancel there stays too!!!
The response from Matt just proves they don’t care about the customer at all! FU is basically what he said to me! I WILL NEVER COME HERE OR RECOMMEND YOUR PLACE TO ANYONE. NO IT’S NOT A REGULAR POLICY at HOTELS IN THE AREA FOR THE DEPOSIT!!! I stayed at the Hyatt plenty of timeS and THIS NEVER HAPPENED!

Pros: much of the hotel upgraded since being a Sheraton. Room was nice and large. Disney fireworks are as close as you can get, seriously your car alarm will go off. Shuttle is 3 min door to door and runs until 1 ½ after the park closes. Pool is decent temp in the winter, hot tub is very large and open until 10pm.
Cons: Restaurant staff, had better service at McDonalds, 2 tables and the staff stood around talking while our water sat empty, and dirty dishes on the table. Hostess literally never left her chair, never seen a hostess with a chair… Bell hop clearly hated his job, also was sitting every time I saw him. Bathrooms are oddly small campared to the room, show was for a 7ft tall person, very odd.
While you’d expect this from a basic or low end hotel, the room was $ 184/​night so not worth the cost. I’ll pay extra to stay at the Courtyard across the street from Disney next time.

I have to say, I am pretty disappointed that I have to write this as we go down to Anaheim every 3 – 4 weeks and have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the last three months. We’ve always had an enjoyable experience but our last experience may have made it the last ever.
One night we were exhausted and the wait for the restaurant downstairs was an hour for a table. So we thought, we’d order room service. I call to place the order and the guy taking the order tells me that they don’t do pitchers of iced tea. Funny thing is, we’ve always ordered a pitcher of iced tea with our meals there, and it has never been a problem. This guy felt the need to argue with me adamantly instead of just run it by his manager. I asked for his name and he said he was new. I asked for it again and he hung up on me.
I called down to the desk twice to talk to a manager on duty and they left me on hold for at least 10 minutes each time, leaving me to call back and have to wait again. So we decided to go out for dinner and I called again when we came back.
I spoke to the front desk manager about our experience and she said she was talk to the food and beverage manager and get me a copy of that particular managers card and leave it under our door, as we had to leave super early in the morning. She did not follow through at all. Shows how much their managers care about their frequenting clientele.
The issue of iced tea in a glass or a pitcher isn’t an issue at all. It is about customer service, and at this point, I feel that they are truly lacking that. The front desk staff are truly hit or miss. Sometimes you get someone who is super personable and other times you get someone that appears to have something uncomfortable large lodged up their backside.
The shuttle drivers to Disneyland are all so gracious and accommodating as well.
Management and their lack of care really is what killed this experience for us. We wont be back.

Seems this place is a hit or miss from the reviews. Our experience was fine. I booked last minute due to changing plans and my normal hotel was sold out — we opted for the newly renovated rooms — which may be one thing you NEED to do here, since people seem to complain about the older rooms on this property.
The bathroom was small, but other than that everything was fine.
They are located right behind Disneyland, so when the fireworks go off, if you walk out front, you are standing right under them, its closer than I’ve seen them even when I worked Fantasmic. so that was cool. The kids liked that part and we totally caught them by accident.
The on site dining was good and open late and the service was good. They offer a free shuttle to the parks (we weren’t going to them, but that is always a plus).
They have a large parking lot, that looks like you are going into a private area — but look for the lit up row of trees. They will give you a card that gets you in and out of the property each day — there is a cost for parking, but it’s not over priced considering the area and its secure and convenient. I didn’t have issues finding a spot either night.
I would say its a good hotel for families going to Disneyland.
I should add that my niece and nephew LOVED the hotel, they walked around and enjoyed the lobby and the big tree and the little shop and my nephew said «I could live here.»
The Castle décor is very cute, they did a good job with the updates. Very comfortable. A good value.

Not going to lie, I wish I read the reviews before my boyfriend booked a non-​refundable premium king sized room for $ 97 (great deals on

reviews about this hotel made me super skeptical on having a great experience all because of such negative reviews!
I wish I took pictures of how huge my king sized room was and cannot forget how CLEAN it was. I did a bed check (Just like I would at any hotel) and it was free of debris, dirt, etc. The floor was exceptionally clean (I brought a pair of sandals just in case and ended up not wearing them). The water flow from the shower head came out perfectly fine, disregarding a previous Unilocaler stating water barely came out. I do not understand why so many guests had such horrible experiences here, my stay here is 8.5÷10 would stay again.
Only two cons I ran into during my one night stay here.
1. Upon checking out front desk tried giving me only $ 86 cash back deposit, even tho deposit was $ 100 and I did in fact give them $ 100 cash!
–She tried to charge me for $ 14 parking even tho we had already paid for it. I was not leaving until I got the exact amount of deposit back– which I did :) So for future guest I highly recommend doing cash deposit as oppose to card just to be free of any hidden charges.
2.Wi-Fi did not work for me

This is a gross substandard hotel with tons of things that will really hurt your Disney experience. First the check in experience was a nightmare — it took 2 clerks 25+ minutes to check in the 3 people ahead of us. Then there are basically NO SIGNS so get out your GPS. The rooms themselves are okay, beds were good (again once you found the room).
Buying the tickets at the hotel was fine but actually getting to the park is a nightmare. They invariably run out of room on all of the shuttles and don’t bother asking the clueless driver when the next one is.
All in all a bad experience. I am also going to file a complaint with Disney — this hotel is really hurting their image.

Very friendly staff at check in, gave us great tips on what to do at Disney, we didn’t have have to pay for the parking fees after the staff noticed my husband is in the military.
Rooms are big and nice &clean.

Very disappointing. We booked a «standard» room because we didn’t need a suite for our small family but apparently standard also means not renovated, not maintained, and not clean.
When I brought my concerns about our sheets being dirty (literally we had dirt in our sheets– not on top of the comforter but made up inside) she said she would talk to her supervisor while we were at breakfast. The supervisor (Karen, supposedly) wasn’t willing to speak with me directly because she was «busy» and when I came back after breakfast I was told by the front desk agent «Sorry, we will let housekeeping know so they clean it well». Disgusting. That’s not even taking in to account that the carpet and walls are stained, our window was covered in some white film and the bathtub was filthy.
Overall the only decent service we had the entire time was from the restaurant staff who were very friendly and gave us great service every morning.
They must have a great PR/​Marketing department because the hotel looks wonderful on paper. Too bad they don’t follow through. Also very telling to see how much their reviews have changed over the past 6 months. With so many options in the area, we won’t be returning.

Stayed for two nights for my birthday this past weekend and absolutely loved this hotel! I found it through Hotwire and was weary based off reviews but I’m so glad I ignored it and had my boyfriend book it. The room was HUGE! It actually looked better than the pictures. We were greeted by the nicest woman at the front desk (she was Hawaiian I believe, I wish I took down her name). She gave us so much info and was so helpful when we told her our plans for our stay!
The room was extremely clean and quiet. Keep in mind that a majority of the people staying here have Disneyland plans so expect children running up and down the halls in the early morning excited to get to the park. Not surprising.
Parking is $ 14 a day which is fair since parking elsewhere could get pricy. You can have them bill it to the room after you check out.
Another plus was being able to buy the tickets in the lobby! We weren’t sure whether to get a two day park hopper or a single day and the woman helped us explain the best option (one park each day). I am so glad we listened to her!
I would 100% recommend staying here if you’re coming for Disneyland bc they offer free shuttle rides to and from the park and we never had to wait longer than 15 minutes for another shuttle.
Will be staying here again next time we come to Disneyland!

We checked in 2 days ago and still have another 2 days left. So far our experience has been wonderful! Our room is clean, and comfortable (we have a 2 queen bed room). We dined at the restaurant on the first night (great food, fast service), and had room service last night (again, super fast and very friendly).
Today is really why I felt this place needed a review. Most hotels can be clean, comfortable, and have good food. But the staff is what makes the place a great experience. We got back after a full day at Disneyland. We decided to grab dinner at McDonald’s and on our way back to the shuttle area we saw our hotel shuttle leaving. We weren’t fast enough to catch it, so we sat and waited for the next one. Out two little girls were so tired, and we started seeing more and more people lining up for the shuttle. When the driver arrived I thought we were going to get run over by the crowd. He got as many people as possible on and was super polite, even after some woman chewed him out saying she was the first in line and deserved to be on the shuttle; he even called his back up driver and instructed them on where to pick up the next crowd.
When we got back into our room we found the sweetest note from the housekeeping staff. It was signed from Bee, so hopefully that’s really her name and she gets recognition. My girls had filled up the notepad with their drawings, and Bee left a sweet note and extra notepads to fill with more drawings. It seriously made their night.

I have to revise my Previously bad review of this hotel. The staffs treatment, and our experiences since a few months ago, have more than made up for it.
The important thing is we never gave up hope. We loved this hotel when it was Sheraton.
The only thing that changed was some
Of the offerings but not the staff.
I should have not blamed the owners but focused on the staff, as they are the reason we feel so at home at the Majestic Garden Hotel.
This review has been a long time coming, for the simple reason that we have been visiting the hotel, from time to time, during the past several months since we wrote the first negative review. This was after the hotel had changed from being Sheraton to a different hotel.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel for a wedding that included the ceremony in the garden area (beautiful set-​up too) reception and stayed overnight in a queen two bed standard room. We got the Majestic promotion room rate which was $ 119 plus tax including free parking, free breakfast, and free WIFI. Great deal!
Room: stayed in room 2102 which was a perfect location because we were the first room closest to the elevator and literally just steps away from where the reception took place at, so that was a plus! The room is very spacious… could easily add two full sized air mattresses in the room and still have walking space as long as you rearrange some of the furniture around. They have sliding closets with mirrors, and another mirror on the wall which was good for me us women when we’re getting ready lol.
breakfast: our room rate including free breakast, which included cold and hot breakfast buffet: fruit, yogurt, muffins, croissants, breads, eggs, denver omelette, bacon, sausage, corn beef hash (yum) potatoes, waffles, pancakes & cereal (corn flakes, frosted flakes, lucky charms, cheerios. etc) orange juice and coffee.
location: very, very close to Disneyland and hotel offers complimentary shuttle to/​from disneyland. Also @9:30pm, you get an AWESOME view of the fireworks show so be on the look out for that =)
