A1 Automotive

Brought my vehicle in for a simple job. Was told the cost was going to be over 700 dollars. After going back and forth I got the price down to about 650… I thought everything was cool and was going to pick the car up the next day. But when I did a little research I realized the price they were charging was still 150 dollars higher than the highest end estimates on every repair website. When I called in before picking up the vehicle I called the guy out on it and he got all tongue tied on the phone and made up a bunch of reasons about how he gets overcharged for parts from their source (but only during summer lol) and then proceeded to «crunch some numbers» and in about 30 seconds the price went from 650 to about 550… which was still a little high compared to the average of most other shops but seeing as how they already dropped the price twice I wasn’t gonna cause a scene. I gave them two stars because even tho they were obviously bullsh**in me with their prices they did drop the price to fit into the high end area of the estimates I had researched… although they would never admit overcharging or trying to rip off unknowledgeable customers I’m sure that is what would have happened had I not done my research. Google your repair costs people!!!

I take my car here for all of its oil changes. You may be able to find a groupon to get an oil change for a good deal. I got one a long time ago, which is what lead me here in the first place. I keep coming back because of the friendly top notch service.
The waiting area is the most comfortable and cleanest I’ve ever been in while waiting for auto work. The manager is always helpful and attentive. I’ve never had any issues coming here.
It’s always best to make an appointment for the faster service because they get pretty busy. I wished they were open on Saturdays but they have fairly late hours during the week so it’s not a problem leaving work a little early for a late afternoon appointment.

i came all the way to Victorville this morning of june 9 and try to fix my drivebelt of my honda civic si 07 and (in high dessert) to see the service of this shop and i think its fair to say that they have a good service. they do my drive belts and oil change. whats good is i already paid the full amount and i remember that i have my groupon and nelson did personally assist me to return my payment and use the groupon instead which is i really much appreciate. i will recommend this shop for come back. ask for nelson the owner and i believe he will take good care of you and your car. thank you A1

Great job! Was given a quote, brought our vehicle in the night before and by 3p the next day it was ready to go! The gutlessness is gone! So is the cloud of smoke! It’s so nice to have my baby back!
The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because there was grease on my doorjamb and the steering wheel was grimy. Other than that, I highly recommend this place!

Called in to see if oil changes were available since the place I had an appointment at was overbooked. Fortunately they were and on top of that I got a free tire rotation! A1 was able to get my services done in under an hour, which is great!
My brakes were also almost out as well as my gas pedal being a little squeaky… over the next couple days it got significantly worse, so I brought it back into the shop! The parts were already pre-​ordered before I got there and everything was taken care of in less than 2 hours :) Upon all the fixtures, my car felt like brand new driving it. Saved $ 30 with the $ 95 for $ 125 Unilocal deal and the parts + service was equivalent to the amount my friend would have charged me for! On top of that, they were kind enough to send me off with a free oil change for next time :) Definitely coming back here for both my oil change and tire rotations moving forward as well as any other car fixtures that are in need! I can count on and trust the team at A1 Automotive to always take care of my car :)
Did I also mention free coffee, TV, wi-​fi and nice comfy couches while you wait for your car to be fixed?! Definitely 5 stars!

This company charged me $ 762.47 for repairs that were arguably unnecessary and did not resolve the issue of a sound coming from my suspension. They then proceeded to keep my car for TWO WEEKS claiming they were «trying to figure out where the noise was coming from». They claimed TWICE to have fixed the vehicle and the sound was gone. Both times I immediately got in the car and the noise was still there just as loudly as before. They were very «nice» and offered to fix it at «no cost», but they kept my car TWO WEEKS — and I had to also pay for a rental car. Don’t let them fool you with their being polite. They may really be genuinely nice people, but based on my experience they’re not good at fixing cars!

Once again A1 came to the rescue.
The wife was driving my SUV and the serpentine belt broke on her and she nearly crashed.
I had the vehicle towed to A1 and without even stepping foot in their building was able to get all the info back and forth I needed. Vince was great coordinating things on the phone with me.
Overall I am very happy with A1 again. I will definitely keep coming back.

Came in for an oil change and finished in 30 mins. Plus it have a television, coffee, and a comfy couch with magazines while you wait. Plus pricing was extremely fair.

Update. I came here for MY car after calling around and came her to get a second opinion :) was hesitant at first but I believe in second chances. These people ARE awesome and took good care of me when I needed it the most. Might be making this place my new mechanic home.

Always trust worthy and will perform their best to find solutions. I definitely recomand this place!

Bad bad customer service. Came in for an oil change with appointment. Waited for over an hour and didn’t get no service. I even heard the mechanic say out loud to the guy in front why you make appointments for me when I’m too busy. So after one hour of waiting I just left. Wasted one hour sitting there n lobby without my oil changed. Reason I came here was the Groupon deal. Will not be coming back here ever. Thanks for wasting my time and money.

I purchased a Groupon for in oil change from A-​1 I had never been to here before; I sent my boyfriend to get my oil change; he said that the staff was very nice and that he would recommend people to come back for oil changes. My BF said there was a little wait about 30 – 40 minutes and that’s with an appointment but most likely because they were really busy. The same week after my oil change I received a very nice thank you card which they did not have to do which is even more awesome, customer service is everything so I would tell them to keep up the good job!

Amazing place, family owned and operated! Extremely clean, comfy, extremely polite… 3 large leather couches to relax on while you wait, large tv mounted on wall, Wi-​Fi. Refreshments… Extremely honest, more than fair pricing for excellent work! Took my gmas car here to have a repair done to a wheel stem… Lets just say Nelson, hooked it up.
Thank you sir. I will be back for any and all repairs needed for my vehicles, and more than highly recommend to anybody and everybody I know to bring their vehicles here. The place is also «female friendly certified» (

I stumbled across this A1 a couple of years ago on Groupon. I have never been happier!!! Nelson is always so polite, helpful, and honest. I’ve been to so many places and felt cheated or taken advantage of but I have never felt this way at A1. The service is always incredible, the team consistently goes above and beyond my expectations. I refer literally everyone I know to come here.
Aside from how fantastic the customer service is, this is also the CLEANEST mechanic I have ever been to. It’s clean, well organized, FREE WIFI, and coffee. So, not only does your car get amazing service but you’re so comfortable and taken care of while you wait.
Never going anywhere else!

I found my new mechanic! Had to replace my rotors and brake pads. I purchased my own custom parts and had a hard time finding a place that would do the install because they were outside parts. I called up and came in shortly after. They took my car in right away, did the job and got me out of there. Prices are very fair! I will definitely be coming back to have these guys install any other after market parts I have and any future maintenence needs I have too!

I can’t believe that I haven’t written a review on A1 Automotive yet. I have been going there for several years and have always been extremely happy with their service.
As a another review stated, Nelson and his team ALSWAYS provide competent, friendly, reliable, high quality service!
I think that the leadership, honesty, sincerity, AND integrity that Nelson demonstrates on a daily basis is one of the key factors to my, and others, selecting A1 over all the other options that are out there for automotive service.
I have recommended A1 to several friends and family members and have never had any negative feedback!
All I can say is that if you are looking for a very reasonably priced, honorable, and trustworthy automotive shop you would be making a big mistake by not giving them a try!

Nelson and his crew went above and beyond what I could ever expect from an automotive shop. I’m always worried of being taken advantage of because I’m a woman but Nelson made sure I was taken care of. I’m at a loss for words.
I needed an oil change (like yesterday) and A1 was the most inexpensive place BY FAR (by a good $ 20), I’m one who has the mentality «you get what you pay for» so I was a little iffy about going but when you’re broke you can’t always have that mentality. in this case I got more than what I payed for.
not only did the guys give me an oil change but they fixed the upholstery on my car door that had been annoyingly coming off AND they fixed my headlight. I mean maybe they don’t need me telling the whole world I got the hook up but I really felt like they went above and beyond. I almost cried and gave him a hug but that would have been weird… kinda like how this post is getting
anyway if you’re ever in the area and need somewhere to take your car I definitely recommend this place.
remember in the beginning I said I was «at a loss for words»…oops lol

I thought I wouldn’t come back to this place for the misunderstanding but I have to admit Nelson takes so much pride in his job and business and took care of me! Whatever the issue was he still gave me a year warranty

Bought a groupon because my car needed an oil change and I put it off for a while. I was quoted 3 hours so I decided to walk across the street to auto zone to buy some air filters. I came back about 50 minutes later, and waited in the extra comfy (and clean) waiting area for my car. It was done in about an hour and 20 minutes.
+1 for a good waiting area with tons of magazines and coffee! (and A. C)
+1 for a clean bathroom…
+3 for great customer service! Whoever was working at the front desk was really nice. My car was done before the quoted time and I even got a thank you card in the mail TWO days after my visit!
Even though its a far drive from Long Beach, I would definitely come back. However, I do recommend that you make an appointment because with everyone buying groupons, it will get super busy!
