Pengyew Catering

My husband and I just had our one-​year anniversary and we are still reflecting on what a great choice it was to have Pengyew cater our wedding. He provides delicious, unique food, impeccable service, and he has a wonderful aesthetic touch. He provides the option of more traditionally western dishes, but we were very pleased to be able to choose a menu that included steamed Siu Mai, Murtabak, Kimchee curry, and Salmon with lemongrass sauce, to name just a few dishes. We highly recommend Pengyew and very much hope we have the occasion to attend one of his events in the future.

Peng Yew was an absolute delight to work with. He catered our wedding at the Garden House in Look Park (May ’14) and he helped make it look so beautiful, it was phenomenal. He decorated the interior and exterior with colorful saris and provided other valuable input to help us customize our wedding to our liking.
I would describe his food as a modern taste of Asian flavors. The food was so delicious, I wish I had leftovers to bring home. The night of the wedding, Peng Yew made the catering portion of the wedding worry-​free, and we really appreciated it. You’re being pulled in every direction during the wedding night, but not having to worry about one more thing was a major relief. I would highly recommend Peng Yew to anyone looking for a catering service. He can customize your event to your liking.

Pengyew catered my wedding last year, and he did an absolutely amazing job. I had a vegetarian and gluten free Asian menu (including an incredible chocolate moose desert). Not only was the food beyond what I could have wished for, but the whole night was perfect. I feel like he was my wedding planner, but without the cost. He arranged for all of the rentals, and his staff even took care of my self service bar, which was way above and beyond what we had agreed upon. I was planning to have a low key and possibly disorganized wedding, because my budget was minimal. But because of him and his staff, everything was absolutely perfect. I couldn’t recommend him enough!

We planned a private wedding ceremony earlier in the summer but wanted to celebrate with friends at a larger reception. We had 75 guests and wanted to talk to them and mingle. Pengyew helped us plan the perfect menu. The guests raved about the food and wrote to us weeks afterward about how good it was. One guest even asked him for a sauce recipe!
Pengyew was a delight to work with. When you’re planning a party, You want someone else to really own their part so that you don’t have to worry. I didn’t worry one bit. He’s funny, yet professional. And the bottom line is that he can wow guests!
We had passed hors d’oeuvres: shrimp on cucumber, corncakes, tuna, scallops and more. The flavors were dynamite and the presentation was exquisite. If I lived closer, I’d have him do our holiday party. He won me over.

Pengyew Catering was our caterer for our event this past weekend at the Look Park Garden House. There are lots of good reasons to go with Pengyew, and we experienced all of them. For our wedding celebration /​first birthday celebration for our daughter, we had a terrific meal served buffet style. For hors d’oeuvres the wait staff served light, tasty items such as a smoked trout spread on cucumber rounds, perfect for a summer afternoon luncheon. We had a buffet that included noodles, eight treasures duck, salmon with Asian pesto (this was inhaled by the crowd and I couldn’t get seconds…) with spicy green beans. It was probably the classiest buffet ever. Pengyew was able to please palates of all ranges, from folks who usually eat Asian style to folks who don’t have regular access to great Asian food. The venue was decorated with saris, as Pengyew is willing to help out with such accent items. Having them hang in the entrance to our party really added a lot to the atmosphere. Service was top notch from the wait staff, as it was from Pengyew the chef himself. I can’t wait to have another event so I can have him cater it. My sister-​in-​law, among other family members, declared the food perfect that day, and to have the food be perfect helps make a big event even better.

The absolute best! Pengyew catered our July, 2010 wedding for 75, and he did a spectacular job. He is calm, professional and has a wonderful demeanor. He was an absolute pleasure to work with every step of the way, and the food was nothing short of amazing. Every dish was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. So many of our guests told us it was the best wedding meal they ever had. I can’t imagine a better choice for an event caterer in our region. Oh, and he brought along an assortment of colorful silk saris and beautifully decorated our venue for us at no extra charge — a nice surprise, and a big plus.
