Unfortunately, this place did not live up to my hopes. We ordered the brisket and the smoked prime rib. The brisket was dry, under-​seasoned, and had no flavor; though you did get big pieces. The prime rib was cold and didn’t have the smokey flavor. I did get the flavor of the meat, but the rub didn’t come through. The prime rib also came with a baked potato that went into the smoker, but for no reason as it didn’t add any flavor. For the food, the best part was their home made baked beans.
Another downside was if you wanted something from the bar, you had to pay for it separately; even though you hadn’t paid for the food yet. The bar tender also doesn’t properly pour a beer. She kept dumping the head out which is an integral part of the beers taste and mouth feel.
The décor was also very dark, and having been opened for only 5 weeks, I didn’t expect to see so much chipped and peeled paint off the wall. The bathrooms were also pretty dirty.
Lastly, and the most annoying to me, was the bartender couldn’t put her phone down for more than a couple of minutes; totally unprofessional. The owners were really nice and friendly, but sadly, we wont be back as the bad out weighed the good.
