Da Vinci’s Donuts

If I absolutely loved cake doughnuts, I’d give this place 5 stars. But the thing is… I like my yeast doughnuts!!! That being said, these were still delicious! I picked some up for my husbands birthday breakfast, and they were a hit in our house!
First, I loved how small they were! The smaller the doughnut, the more you can eat without feeling too terrible! So we got to try a bunch of flavors… french toast, cinnamon roll, somoa, oreo, salted caramel, caramel crunch, sprinkled, powdered, and chocolate. They were all super moist and delicious!
One notable thing, a dozen here means 16! I think they do that due to size. I tried to be good and ordered the standard 12, which I paid $ 16 for… kinda pricey but pretty yummy!

Taste of this davinci’s donuts are AMAZING.
Great taste.
However, they have HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
They close on Sunday @ 1:00PM and I was there on dot @ 1:00 PM.
I personally had to drive 25 minutes just to get this donuts, but when i got there @1:00pm, They were closed and employees would not even bother to look infront of the door when i knocked.
Also, I saw that they have already put up all the donuts away when it was there!
PURE LAZINESS OF THE EMPLOYEES!
What types of business put up all their stuff away when they were not even closed?
In their website, their moto was family like business, but what types of family like businesses do not even look at the door when there were still a customer outside?
Have that thought into your consideration.

Donuts were Ok, had a maple/​bacon and a salted caramel,. no complaints. Two donuts in a plastic box even though I was eating in. Here’s my issue, no recycling of their plastic (or paper). I imagine on a good day that’s hundreds of little plastic boxes in the trash. That’s uncool and highly irresponsible. They will sell you donuts but lack a social/​environmental conscience.

This place has made me fall in love with donuts again. Love their maple bacon glazed donut above everything else.

Cake donuts are really, REALLY not my thing, but I was persuaded to try Da Vinci’s by the many reviewers swearing they were worth taking the chance.
(Hint: OMG, THEY TOTALLY ARE)
First off, the staff — super nice. Accommodating of my little nitpicky requests (maple bacon in a separate container) and really friendly.
The donuts! While in the shop I stuffed my mouth with the Boston cream, Samoa, Tiramisu, and French toast. Haven’t yet touched any of the ones I picked up to go, but I expect they’ll be just as amazing.
Da Vinci’s won’t take Revolution’s place in my donut-​addicted heart only because yeast donuts are my real soulmate, but for a quick on-​the-​side affair? It’s ON.

Nice. Tasty. Fresh. Great coffee.
Please have some paper plates for those of us who don’t like to eat over a little napkin.

absolutely wonderful doughnuts at Da Vinci. My favorite is the maple bacon and my wife loves their salted caramel. Other favorites include tiramisu and samoa.

A little gem in Alpharetta — streamlined and unfussy décor lets the service and the donuts take center stage… which is where they deserve to be.
We popped in for the first time today, about 20 minutes before closing. In most places, a customer at closing time would get snarls and rushed service, but not here — we got warm and welcoming service, as if they’d been waiting just for us. Two coffees and a four pack of donuts — wonderful, delectable pillows of goodness — and we sat to take our first bite.
I’m a hardcore Krispy Kreme fan, never been one to love cake donuts… they’re usually dry and flavorless and require a quart of coffee to wash ‘em down. Davinci’s smashes that to smithereens.
The selection is pretty amazing. We chose Key Lime, Maple Bacon, French Toast and Salted Caramel. Holy taste explosion — loved all four. None were cloyingly sweet but all were moist and gobble-​able. So we did.
Davinci’s will see us again. Often.

Davinci’s was a delightful surprise for this doughnut-​o-​holic! What can I say? I have a problem, I’m addicted to doughnuts! So after having lunch at a Mexican restaurant a few miles away, I searched Unilocal for doughnuts and found Davinci’s. When we got there I thought the place was really cute inside. They have an entire wall painted in chalkboard paint where you can leave messages or draw a picture, some kids who came in the same time we did had so much fun drawing on it. They have cute little tables and chairs for sitting while you enjoy your desserts and the overall vibe of the place is just very… sweet. See what I did there? ;)
But, when it was time to order, I noticed that Davinci’s serves strictly CAKE donuts and my heart kinda sank. I’m not the biggest cake donut fan but I knew my wife who was with me, REALLY doesn’t like them so I thought we’d both be disappointed. But we ordered four anyway. We got the French Toast, Oreo cream, Cinnamon roll and the Maple Bacon. Since the bakery was so pretty inside we decided to sit and enjoy our doughnuts. (They also have coffee and cold drinks on sale.)
Well, we were pleasantly surprised by the taste. Even though they were «cake» doughnuts, they weren’t dry at all. They were moist and very tasty, with my favorite being the French toast. They reminded me of yummy, little muffins. I’m still a yeast doughnut fan all the way but the cake doughnuts at Davinci’s are the exception.

Saturday around noon I finally tried Davinci’s Doughnuts after driving by it for so long & seeing the high star rating that it had received on Unilocal.I was super excited and my mouth was ready for a party, but I have to say I was so disappointed!
First off, I was thrown off at how tiny these doughnuts were. I almost felt like it was a joke. I said to myself «You’re here now so you might as well get something».The staff was friendly and patient as I tried to determine what I wanted. I chose the maple bacon & cinnamon sugar as the staff stated those are the amongst the top 3 flavors sold. I also got a birthday cake in case I didn’t like either and needed a fallback.
I got home and bit into the Maple Bacon. It wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t good. I liked the flavor of the icing and bacon but the doughnut itself did not taste fresh. It was very dense and dry. So I then tried the cinnamon sugar which I enjoyed even less. It practically gave me cotton mouth since it had no icing on it whatsoever. I saved the birthday cake for last and it equaled with the maple bacon for me. Not bad but not good.
I was so disappointed & I’m very confused. The staff appeared to have just made the batch that morning so I’m not sure why they tasted so dry. I’m not sure how this place has received such a high star rating. The doughnuts literally taste like plain munchkins you can get off the shelf at a grocery store with icing plopped on top.
Though the doughnuts were small I thought the concept was cute. Unfortunately, taste wins over concept so I will not return to this establishment.

The family and I stopped in on a Saturday morning, and I’m so glad we did. What a tasty treat! We tried the strawberry shortcake, caramel crunch, salted caramel, coffee smores, cinnamon roll, m&m, and sprinkles doughnuts (yes, we have a toddler!). All of them were excellent. The strawberry shortcake was my favorite, and my husband thought the caramel crunch was tops. The basic doughnut was a cake doughnut, and the ratios of the toppings were perfect in terms of not overwhelming the flavor of the doughnut. The doughnuts were on the smaller side, so you can try more flavors without filling up. I loved my cappuccino, as well. Service was excellent. A great weekend family stop!

My friend bought me these as a birthday gift and I must I say, that was an amazing surprise. They come cute and small and in a wide arrange of flavors. They are your basic plain cake donut with toppings. as most reviewers explain, no glaze. They are tiny, about palm sized which means you can eat more than one without feeling guilty! The maple bacon is my favorite so far.
I love dessert shops and I’ll be stopping by this place to get more. It doesn’t top my favorite donut shop (Sublime Donuts) but this place has charm and flavor of it’s own.

Mmmmm donuts… On a sleepy Sunday morning after a boxing match (I shall not name this awful fight) that I was forced to watch the night before. My coworkers and I were treated to donuts by our boss. The owner of Davinci’s came to show us what goes on behind the scenes and we even watched one of the workers fry donuts in their awesome little fryer.
I must say what a nice shop this is and the chalkboard wall is awesomely cool…
The donuts are delicious right after they’re fried… They do become a bit denser after they’ve sat overnight but they still taste good. It would be a good idea to consume your donuts the day of. They also need a bigger togo container for the choice of 4 donuts… I ended up with two containers for 4 donuts but they were still leaning on each other, pretty much mixing the flavors around on each other… Not sure if they still have the small plastic containers, but something where they’re sitting flat not leaning or stacked on each other would be great.
I side tracked back to donuts… We tried several flavors while we sat around the bakery and talked about work, this is a nice thing for small businesses to do. Sit down and have a donut with your workers… my boss is cool like that.
Some of my favorites were the salted caramel, strawberry and cream, and dulce de leche… Donuts make great hangover foods.
I will definitely be back to try more of their gourmet flavors and perhaps to even concoct something of my own… but other than that… this was a great experience… It’s always nice seeing small businesses doing well… and well after I destroyed my kitchen making donuts… I have super mad props for businesses that can do it everyday and make it look easy. Here’s to that perfect round food the donut… now go get your own…

PAYING MORE FOR LESS
Well, I finally made it over to Da Vinci’s with my daughter in tow. My daughter is 21 years old but absolutely loves treats and sweets. When it comes to treats, we are polar opposites. She loves the extras, (sugar, toppings) and I don’t. I prefer a simple treat.
So, I walk in looking for my favorite donut, the plain glazed yeast donut. It doesn’t live here, these are cake donuts and they don’t even make a plain glazed option.
Hmmm, I’m not sure what to do so I order a naked donut. Of course he thought I was kidding until my daughter repeated the request. This is not the type of donut shop to visit if you want a full sized plain glazed donut, this is where you go if you like it tiny, super sweet and fancy.
When it comes to pricing, they are the Starbucks of donuts. What exactly are you paying for? Just sayin.
Customer service was nice and even though it was around lunch time, there was still a nice selection of donuts left. Also, they will customize the topping for you if you don’t see anything you like. But let’s keep it real…
No, I won’t return because I simply don’t like the product and I don’t care for «idiot marketing» where they assume that the customer is a mindless idiot and actually say that the donuts are smaller so you can eat more without guilt when they are really smaller so that they can make a greater profit. If they keep them small, you are obligated to buy more to feel as satisfied as you would if you just purchased regular sized donuts. Think about it!

The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The location is great and the shop was clean and inviting. Presentation of the donuts was perfect and our kids could watch the donuts come off the assembly line. Very cool experience.
The donuts are small — not regular size donuts — so you can eat 2 or 3 and try different varieties. I tried the caramel crunch and Oreo chocolate and they were moist and delicious. Highly recommended. A perfect blend of friendly staff and delicious donuts.

Maple Bacon– awesome.
Boston Crème– better than the original at Parker’s Boston.
French Toast– better than the casserole your mom makes from Pinterest.
I highly recommend their donuts. They are 2 – 3 bites of deliciousness. Will go again, won’t share with my family (again).
Coffee was fresh and tasty– much better than your chain store crap.

This was a neat little find on a nasty-​weathered Sunday. My fiancée and I came here to meet my friends for coffee and doughnuts on the way back to Nashville. Let me start off by saying I was really surprised by what i found!
The coffee was from Jittery Joes I think. They had Jittery Joes paraphenalia in and around the shop and I’m a JJ’s fiend from my time at UGA. They only have one in TN so i gorge any time I see a place that carries their delicious beans.
Now for the doughnuts… I got a cinnamon sugar and a french toast doughnut while she got a maple bacon and something that was caramel or toffee-​y. I loved mine and the good thing is that they are small enough to where you definitely need two. You should share the flavors but the texture and flavor of mine were spot on. They have a crisp, dense texture without being soggy with grease and the toppings were sweet and balanced but not overwhelming and were each fine representations of doughnut-​dom.
Pros: Doughnuts, small ones, in many flavors.
Cons: It’s a bit awkward to get to in your car if you come from the wrong direction.
Overall: I felt like Homer Simpson when I walked in and left so happy!

The DaVinci dozen is 16 donuts, and the half is 8 because the donuts are smaller than most. Although they are small they aren’t lacking at all and come in a great flavors! You can even make your own! I loved salted caramel, but maple bacon is the best seller!
Use a scout mob for half off!

I’d probably go again since it’s near me, but I mostly lament that Sublime Donuts isn’t closer, cause SD kicks this out of the water, hands down.

I like trying local donut shops. I first visited recently and got a selection of four donuts. Plain, creamsicle, strawberries and cream and Key Lime. I like the size of the donuts and the taste. The flavors were good and tasted authentic. The coffee I ordered was good also.
