Crust Pasta & Pizzeria

My family and I go to Crust at least once a week for dinner. They have some of the best pizza and I especially love the buffalo chicken salad. The salad is huge and in the past I’ve been able to order a smaller version for a small discount. I enjoy leftovers but wilted salad is not good and therefore enjoy the smaller portion.
I experienced lunch for the first time today and ordered the smaller version as I always do only to be told that they can’t do that. I replied that I previously had been able to order this smaller version many times. The owner walks by and the server confronted him asking if they could do the smaller portion. He said, «we typically say no». After again mentioning how I had ordered this before I proceeded to just order the slice and salad. The cheese pizza was very dry and little cheese at all. I understand the pizza being cooked beforehand to serve the lunch crowd but the pizza was no comparison to what we normally experience.
It would just be nice especially for recurring customers for the restaurant to be consistent in their ways of preparing the food, and possibly consider smaller portion salads especially for lunch.

Service is awesome. Food is great. Crust which with pasta for under $ 10 can’t be beat. Nice décor. Overall a great place to grab a drink and some food.

If you think this is just a pizza place, you are cutting yourself short! The food selection and variety leans toward Italian cuisine but the flavor breaks the typical mold in a very positive way.
You will need to make several visits to fully experience the span of their offerings. One one of your trips make sure you try the fresh pasta.
A «Call ahead «option will get you seated in a reasonable time. Open seating at the bar is an option — the staff are very friendly which makes this a good option–

Crust is an appropriate name. This was our first time here. Not much to report — neither good nor bad. We had meatball sandwiches. They are served on a crust, not a roll or bread. That would be fine, but it was extremely dry hard tasteless crust. The kind that would break an incisor. To make it even drier and harder there was virtually no cheese or sauce to moisten the crust. We got extra sauce just to be able to swallow it. If their pizza crust is like their sandwich crust, count me out. The service was fine and we had only a short wait to be seated. Maybe their pasta is a better option.

I ordered lunch for pick up from Crust after passing the restaurant every day. It has a very convenient location on the corner of Hwy 9 (Alpharetta Hwy) and Old Milton; fairly close to 400. My visit was around noon and the place was packed. I heard the greeter tell a party that the wait would be 25 – 45 minutes! My order wasn’t entirely ready when I got there, which was understandable considering how busy they were. While I was waiting I did see that one of the parties that was waiting to be seated ended up changing their minds and took their name off the list. That being said, I would try and call in ahead for reservations if you’re pressed for time. The food was good, a solid ⁸⁄₁₀ if I had to put a number to it. I ordered the chicken parm ‘crustwich’ and it came with a side, all for approximately $ 9. The crustwich caught me off guard because I thought it was just a silly name for their sandwiches. In reality, the ingredients are wrapped inside a pizza crust, which was pretty unique. It tasted good and filled me up, so it makes sense why the place was so busy. I would definitely come here again and try their other options!

Been here a couple of times now… between wifey and I, we have tried the main things here: (1) Crustwich; (2) Pizza; (3) Pasta…
Crustwich…a sandwich made out of pizza crust… first time here, I had the Italian Crustwich… really good Italian sandwich! However, I could only eat half! Side item was spaghetti with meat sauce… this was the hit of the night!
The spaghetti was cooked well and DRAINED well (a pet peeve of mine is restaurants that barely drain their pasta and then throw into the sauce, watering it all down). The meat sauce was very flavorful… bringing it all together!
Wifey ordered the pepperoni pizza… another big hit… it was really tasty, the pep had just enough pep! And the sauce was excellent! Wifey declared it her favorite pizza in the area!
Second trip, we ordered the chicken parm crustwich with spaghetti… together…and split it. That worked really well. The crustwich was again really good… and the spaghetti was validated, it was excellent again.
Highly recommended place

Great food/​pizza. Nice atmosphere. Great bar and patio. Have eaten here at least a a few dozen times and have never been disappointed.

Still a gem! My husband and I go regularly and sit at the bar to eat. The bartenders remember our drinks. Very cool! What is cooler… one night we went to eat and there were no seats at the bar. We were waiting for a seat but there was only one. This nice woman offered her seat. We told her that we don’t want move her good seat. She insisted. And moved to the service bar and stood up and enjoyed her soup. She was very kind and happy to give us her seat.
It turns out, she is one of the owner’s wife. She had stopped in for a quick meal and was willing to give up her seat. I know this place has a great owners, managers and staff (from hostesses, bartenders, severs, chefs, food runners, bussers). But the spouse of an owner? That is very smart and classy!
Way to go Crust!
PS. The food is still amazing. We recommend our friends to try here. They love it. My kids beg to eat here, all the time. We take them regularly, also!

GREAT FOOD AND GREAT STAFF
Coming from NYC, my wife and I needed to get our pizza fix. We stopped here after a driver told us about their food and gave them a shot. I had the four meat stromboli while my wife had the pepperoni pizza. EVERYTHING WAS ON POINT!!! In fact it tasted so good im gonna end the review at that lol.

TL: DR — Good food and attentive service in a cozy and peasant environment. Best for lunch.
Went here the other day when interviewing a candidate for a role on my team. Gotta say the atmosphere was wonderful and the food did not disappoint. Came back for dinner another night, this time with my family and again, great food and awesome service. I will say they are a bit more my speed for lunch than for dinner but either way they are a really solid choice.
Food:
I had sandwiches both times I went. These are delicious in large part because they come in their pizza crust «bread». I had the mushroom and the chicken Parmesan and both were amazing.
My husband had the homemade pasta noodles and he loved them. They usually come with the Alfredo but he was able to sub them into another dish. I highly recommend this.
With my sandwich I could pick soup or salad and I decided to try the wedge since I hadn’t had it before and was always curious about it. It was awesome! I liked it so much that the next time I went I had it again!
My daughter had the chicken and broccoli meal and I gotta tell you that is some awesome chicken and broccoli not to mention it’s a huge portion (she ate it for three meals total so that was a huge win for us as well)
Finally the interviewer (current employer!!! Yay!!) had the pizza and while I didn’t get to try it (that would have been awkward!!) it looked really good and he said he liked it.
Service: both times servers have been friendly and attentive. They get you out quickly at lunch and are more leisurely at dinner, as it should be. Oh and the refills on water and soda were fast to the point I didn’t have to even think about them. I know that’s kind of silly, but when I’m thirsty and have to flag down a waiter I always feel like the rudest person, maybe it’s my time as a server, but I often judge a good server on how well and unobtrusively they refill drinks. If I never feel like I’m out of water and yet I never even realized you refilled it, you’re a ninja server and I love you.
Ever since I had a kid I’ve started worrying, is this place ok to take my one year old. This place is! It’s also nice enough to where you will feel like you had a nice dinner out. Not something you can say about many places, not even in Alpharetta.
So, if you wanna grab Italian in a casual and family friendly, yet still nice place, and you wanna do it in the Alpharetta area, this is the place for you. Order anything you like on the menu, odds are good you’ll love it.

Ok, so let me say up front that I am not the easiest customer because I expect excellence. I reluctantly tried Crust at my sons prompting. I thought oh great ANOTHER pizza place. Oh was I WRONG. I have waited for about a month to write a review because after a first and second Great experience, I thought surly they can’t be this good every time. Today marked visit number 10 and guess what? They truly are that consistent. I am blown away that my dine in or take out orders have been 100% correct and delicious every time.
As far as dine in: the atmosphere is warm and rustic with a great layout and Tuscan style feel. Simple but somewhat elegant, warm and inviting. They also have outside dining which is so nice this time of year. The service has been excellent each and every visit. Your food always arrives in a timely manner, looks and tastes great. One and only one criticism: they do not offer you bread and it was only today that I discovered it was available upon request. That needs to be addressed…
Crust offers curb side pickup as do many restaurants. This is however by far the best curb side experiences I have ever had. They are at my car within 1 min of my arrival. They are polite, efferent and take care to let you know that all is just as you would hope that it would be. When I arrive home with my meal, I find it to be perfect every time.
I have tried many dishes on the menu from soups and salads to pizzas, pastas and Crustwiches. Everything was great…
There are some quick and affordable lunch specials that are offered from opening until 3pm which is great for the late lunch folks like myself.
Crust also has a bar and TVs so you can get a great meal, watch your favorite team and enjoy an adult beverage.
This is my number one spot… Give them a try if you haven’t already, you will be happy you did.

We come here all the time for lunch or dinner and it’s always good. Fantastic buttery garlic knots, crispy calamari, Caesar salad dressing is homemade and phenomenal. Crustwich sandwiches are really good, pasta dishes good, what can I say? Even the filet or pork chop with Marsala sauce and mashed potatoes are excellent.
My only disappointment is I find their pizzas mediocre. I prefer a Neapolitan pizza baked fast in a super hot oven with a nice char. These are just your average pizzas IMHO so I go elsewhere for my pizza fix like 850′ Barpizza or The Real Fix Pizzeria. Patio dining, fast, friendly staff, you can’t go wrong.

This my second visit to Crust in circa 4 months. And just as last time, I enjoyed my Crustwich… their brand of sandwiches on pizza-​flatbread, folded over into a crescent shape. There are several such Crustwiches to choose from. To date, I’ve had the buffalo chicken and the crispy chicken version. Additional fillings include crisp onion bits, lettuce and tomato bites, and some type vinaigrette sauce. I think they’re delicious.
The décor in Crust is on the order of Salt’s olé Roswell location with the blacked out ceiling and Edison style incandescent bulbs which I think it cool. That seems to be a trendy theme in restaurants in the Alpharetta /​Roswell area. Saturday’s circa 5−7PM is just crazy crowded so count on a wait. Even weekdays at lunch is crowded. Apparently they’re doing something right. I generally go circa 1:30PM to avoid all that busy-​ness. With that same, I’m a fan but have yet to try the pizza. In closing, I urge you to not take my word for it but go and have your own experience.

This is a small little place in Alpharetta that is always busy on the weekend nights. I can see why! This is a very small place with great food and great service. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with making recommendations. I ordered the shrimp rigatoni alla vodka. It was very good and had great flavor and taste. I highly recommend it if you like vodka sauce. It was cooked perfectly. Some places cook it with a heavy sauce, this one was great. Not too heavy not too light. Just right to get the perfect balance of flavor for the sauce.

This restaurant exceeded my expectations! The line was pretty long on a Friday around 7pm so we had a 35 minute wait. We sat down and the waiter took our drink order. I was looking for a sweet wine or Moscato and they didn’t sell Moscato so I got the Frisk instead. It was pretty good!
For the main dish, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with seasoned broccoli. I requested that the Chicken be made with Vodka sauce as opposed to the normal marinara sauce which was no problem. It came out perfect! Two breaded pieces of chicken breast with light sauce and cheese were all I needed to feel stuffed and satisfied with the meal. Our server was attentive and the meal came out quickly. I would definitely check this place out again.

Love love love this place. Best place to carb up for a tough workout.
And…
THE most impressive take-​out experience I’ve ever had. No sooner do I pull up than they are carside. It’s like they’re mind-​readers.
My go-​to is the 4-​meat pizza and garlic knots… which I get just to sop up the garlic butter that comes with.

This was the third stop of my Alpharetta Lunchtime UYE series. I’d bookmarked it previously when I knew that my office was moving to Alpharetta. Who doesn’t love a good thin crust pizza?
Lindy and Jabari and I were seated at a 4 top on the left side along the banquette. I was so hungry that everything on the menu sounded delicious. We started with garlic knots, and then debated what to order. I finally chose the Penne Cieli, at least partly because I’d had pizza the night before.
The garlic knots appear to be covered in cheese sauce when they arrive, but it’s actually frothy whipped garlic butter. They are light and fluffy, and just slightly crisp on the outisde, but easily loose that crispness with all the butter and the marinara. The marinara was quite chunky and thin, so I prefered my bites with just the butter.
The penne cieli (which I got with chicken) was huge. If I hadn’t skipped breakfast, I would’ve taken half in a to-​go container right away. It’s got portobellos, sun-​dried tomatoes, parmigiano-​reggiano, kalamate olives. The flavor was great, particularly when I added red pepper flakes.
The service was great. The prices are a little high for lunch, so I suggest either taking half home or sharing with your friends.
I’ll be back!

Not just another Alpharetta restaurant…
I was welcomed by Angela M. to a UYE at this place I had never heard of. I was apprehensive up until I saw how packed it was at about 1pm.
When we sat down I noticed a decent sized bar that had quite a few patrons. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a drink and heading back to work. I keed, I keed. I opted for a Thai wheat beer of which I was petrified to get in fear of it being but to my surprise it was very tasty. The menu had many choices that were worth of being consumed by me but I couldn’t choose just one so I asked our waitress Elizabeth to decide for me. She chose an Italian Crustwich with a side of Rigatoni. The pasta was good but… The Crustwich was delicious!!! It had capicola, pepperoni, salami as the features meats with onions, tomatoes, and lettuce as the veggies. It was so good I triple dared Lindy and Angela to taste it and they absolutely agreed that it tasted divine.
A stickler for good service I am and I must say Elizabeth was great. She continuously checked up on us, kept our drinks filled, and engaged in pretty continuous conversation.
Crust will hold it’s own in Alpharetta due to it’s impeccable service, delicious dishes, and speed of preparation in my humble foodie opinion.

Crust has quickly become a popular, busy pizza place near downtown Alpharetta. I’ve only been during lunch but the parking spots fill up very quickly so people tend to park in the grass and down the street.
The lunch specials are very good Monday thru Friday with 2 cheese slices and a drink for $ 5.00, plus .50 cents for each additional topping. My pizza was good, especially compared to most pizza spots in Alpharetta, but not on the same level as an Antico. Service at the bar was quick and very good.
Crust also has a great selection of local beers including Alpharetta’s Jekyll. The atmosphere is nice and you can bring the kids. It is a pizza place after all.
Overall, an excellent option for pizza in the area. If you go for lunch, meet early to avoid a wait. I’m sure the same goes for dinner too.

Dined here for the first time tonight. It’s right around the corner from work, so I have no idea what took me so long! I had a good time. My coworker and I came in at 4:00, so we were some of the only people in the restaurant. Our waiter couldn’t have been sweeter or more attentive, and the excellent service will keep me coming back. The food wasn’t bad at all, and the three stars are solid.
The beer list is impressive for a smallish, non-​chain restaurant in Alpharetta. At least half a dozen decent brews on tap, and an extensive list of bottles, wines, and cocktails.
The garlic rolls are on point. Large and covered with garlic butter, they achieve new levels of awesomeness when you dip them in the fresh marinara that’s served along with them.
The pizza is okay. Not bad, not sensational. I wouldn’t necessarily get it again — and the crust wasn’t that hot, honestly, considering the restaurant is named after it. If you’re going to name your place «crust,» you gotta deliver on the crust! It’s just kind of bland, honestly. I’m a big fan of Mellow Mushroom’s chewy, sweet crust. If you prefer yours on the crispy, dry side, you might totally disagree with my assessment.
When we left, everyone smiled and thanked is for stopping in. That’s the kind of thing that’ll give Crust a regular place in my rotation despite being a pretty run of the mill Italian joint in other respects.
