This place was o.k. Great drink selection, although a little pricey. We had a $ 180 bar tab between two people, and only $ 20 was food. Ouch. The food was average at best. Nothing fancy for sure, but o.k. for bar food. All in all, it was a decent place, although I wouldn’t make an effort to go again. This was on a Thursday night, so maybe weekends are better?

I’ve been here ones when it was still a different bar. The reason why it took me a long time to comeback and visit is because, yeah, it was boring. There was nothing going on. Now, they have dj’s and band during the weekend which is better than just sitting around while drinking your brew which some would think a perfect place but not for me. Whenever I go out to have one or two brew I always like the atmosphere to be busy and a lot going on. It makes me giddy and happy. We returned here to see a a local band that I really like. Lion and Crown please invite them back I’m sure I’ll be and some of my friends will be at attendance as this one we can consider our neighborhood bar(we live very close) They have a pretty extensive beers and I’m surprised of how much local beers they have available. I get to try Karbach Love Street which is from TX and Franconia Dunkel which is also from TX. Both different types but I like both of them. The bartenders are attentive and chatty which I think makes a difference as well. It feels good that they like it when you are at their bar. Another star maybe in the near future when we come back to try their food.

I have lived in the lofts for 3 years. I was beyond thrilled that a new bar was going to come to the area. I have been here 5 times since it opened. I came when it first opened: the staff was not very nice, food was horrible, and beer tap was always broken so the beer was warm. I tried a few months later and the staffed changed and they are MUCH friendlier and the beer tap is fixed. However, the food is not why you want to come here. My chicken fingers were burnt one time and my burger this time was over cooked. The onion rings came out with the wrong dipping sauce. A lot of little things they could make better.

FYI: This place used to be The Londoner. This is probably old news, but we were not aware when we went so it’s important information for me. My friends and I don’t frequent the Allen area when we are going out for a drink, but this is a nice place. Granted on a Saturday night, there was only about 3 tables(us being one of them), so I didn’t really think they needed to play the music so loudly. That is probably my only complaint. The music was so loud we could barely hear each other! Other than that, it’s a nice place to relax with your friends. There’s an extensive beer list, darts, and live music. It’s not a happening place, but I think it’s nice for a chill night out.

A solid, commercial Irish Pub experience. $ 3 drafts on Tuesday nights and open mic night music. Good service. Good fundamentals.

Not much change since The Londoner! Bartenders were lifeless and not friendly. Maybe they should be reminded that is a pub, you know a pub with a friendly bar staff. Beer was cold, not much beyond that to look forward to. My first beer was served foaming and pouring over the glass, asking for the bartender to wipe it up please… Guy next said that the food had declined from previous ownership. Management advice… Train your bar staff! I will give it a second try, hope to see improvement. Allen needs a good pub!

My guests had a good experience with heaping portions. My chicken club was less chicken and more club. The only upside was a pint sized Temptress vs. 6−8oz pours offered at other establishments.

Give me the Londoner back! The food was sub par at best. I don’t think it will kill you, but will leave you questioning what you ate. Over priced for a fast food style taste. The service would have been better if a toddler waited on me me. I have been a server before and can tolerate some stuff, but this guy did not even try. I will never be back!

All I can say is that I can’t wait to come back! We went on a Tuesday and were pleasantly surprised to find out it was $ 3 draught beer night. It’s not very often that I can find a Lakewood Temptress or a Peticolas Velvet Hammer for only $ 3! Around 8:00 p.m. a house band went on to warm everyone up for the open mic night. Typically I’m not about these things, but I thought the band was really talented. Fried green beans are delicious and reasonably priced. My husband had the roastbeef au jus which was great. My only complaint was that my chef salad greens were bitter and on the verge of going bad. The other things in the salad were great, and I’d probably still order it again. If you’re looking for something in between a dive bar and an English pub in the wonderfully cute lifestyle-community of Watters Creek, I would definitely recommend this place. We had great service and we’ll be back(and with friends!)

Open seating. Great ambiance with lots of TV’s. I had the bangers and mash. The bangers were tasty and had a lot of flavor the mash had a good texture and tasted like real potatoes My partner had a chicken sandwich that was really good. Their chips are also good. They have a great beer selection and the service was very good for an open seating pub. I felt the prices were reasonable and portions were large.

Had a great time, good live music on this day. They even supported an event for DogRRRs, which you should look up is you’re an animal lover. The Black & Tan was perfect, my tacos were the star of the table. Onion ring appetizer as expected, dinner friend enjoyed the burger but can not remember what hubby got so I would have to guess it wasn’t special. Service was spot on at the beginning but was spotty at the end. My only complaint would be the sound system, need to invest some money on that!

Service was quick and friendly. Bangers and Mash hit the spot! Glad to see the location back open after the Londoner was closed for so long. Manager walked around making sure everyone was taken care of. It appears that they have same or similar English Pub style menu as the Londoner. Definitely recommend giving them a try

This review is not for the restaurant, I have yet to experience the dining at the Lion & Crown Pub. I’m writing about the pub experience. So to put things in perspective; after hours, on your average weeknight, you can have a cocktail at the Lion & Crown Pub. From what I’ve experienced, it’s a great location to wet your whistle and have great conversation. B+ I’ve come here alone, and I’ve come here with bunch of friends, I’m always greeted by the same friendly cute bartender Kristin usually. If she is not there, there is still always a smile and good attitude from the bartender. They are always nice, always smile, and always make you feel welcome while not being obtrusive. B+ There are lots of TV’s, so you can always catch the game you want. A There is a nice selection of beers here, if you don’t know what you want, the staff is knowledgeable and ready to share information. I’m a fan of teh Hefi. B Blah blah blah blah blah… now to the good part! They have street tacos. — A+ Yeah I like to have a drink or two, yeah I like to talk and laugh… but after a few cocktails, I want a snack. The tacos are FANTASTIC and always hit the spot. Two chicken and two beef is my normal order. My neighbors that I come here with feel the same. We’ve actually left our house a few times just to come down and get the tacos. I tried the jabanero salsa with my tacos once… won’t do that again… HOT So to wrap up the experience, I think this is a very«pub» like place with a «pub» like attitude. Some may not love the feel since it’s not so much a «bar», but more of a «pub». Some don’t realize the difference in meaning in pub and bar. Think of a pub as a central town location with beer and good food. A pub typically is a more long term relaxing feeling than a bar, and is more community based. Anyway, if you’re bored one night, drive down with a couple friends and make a few new friends at the Lion& Crown Pub, it’s a great place to have a pint.

Full disclosure — I’m a fan of the Londoner pubs, so this review is going to be in relationship to that. When you walk in you’ll notice very little has changed since it was the Londoner(a good thing) with more TVs added, a small area for live music, and some fresh paint. The ambiance is about perfect for an English pub /restaurant. The beer selection is great — domestic, import, local craft and the prices are reasonable about $ 5.50 or $ 6.00 for a pint of Temptress(great deal). The food prices are also reasonable, with the fish and chips being about the highest entrée. $ 10.95 Fish-n-Chips vs. $ 7.95 Cottage Pie. The quality and taste of the food is a step down from the Londoner, but otherwise it’s fine. The wait staff is friendly but otherwise uneducated in the beverages and entrées they sell. Overall — it’s not perfect but nice to see the space being occupied by the fallen Londoner.

No happy hour specials on beer. The menu doesn’t even list prices for mixed drinks or beer. It’s almost like this place is trying be out of business within six months. Too bad because Watters Creek deserves a great bar. Try it out and see if you like it. If not, Village Burger is right around the corner and always has CHEAP beer.

Very clean inside with plenty of big screens and room to spread out. Lots of choices for beer /ale and food to boot. Friendly staff and plenty of big screens to watch your game or multiple at once. Prices are more than reasonable, especially for Watters Creek in Allen. I’m here on a Sunday afternoon and surprised it’s not more crowded given the amount of big screens and level of good service compared to other Allen establishments like Pluckers who truly lack in the customer service area. I don’t believe the word is actually out about this establishment. So if you have a chance, spread the word so we can keep this good business here to stay. This location used to be The Londoner and when closed down stayed vacant I believe two years. That left Allen folk without a unique venue such as this. Food was really good. Quick and hot straight out of the kitchen. So much so that I had to let my fries cool down a minute so I could eat them. Windows open out to the patio so on a nice afternoon or evening like today you can sit at the bar outside on the patio and enjoy the weather, scenery and a nice beverage with food. I will be back here frequently to enjoy watching football or just to get a adult beverage on the patio and enjoy a good meal that’s more than reasonably priced.

I live in the complex and I’m all for trying new places but when a place opens on a Friday a week after«gutting» out the previous place(the londoner had been closed for over a year), it better be ready! It’s been a few weeks and still no actual sign and it looks very bland. We didn’t know what to do when we walked in the first time, we stood there for a few minutes before someone told us is open seating. Food is still not great. It’s good but it’s very mixed. The first time we went here our server had no clue about the menu. we ordered drinks and the guy forgot about it and asked if we wanted drinks. He looked stoned. We tried to order dessert and 6 minutes later he comes back and tells us they don’t have desert. How can a place be so ill prepared? I have never been to a place where they have opened so early with nothing prepared and most of the wait staff does not know what’s going on. I felt bad for the employees because they are the ones that have to deal with the owners mistake. I’ll give it another chance but not any time soon.

Went about 5 pm on a Friday and here’s a summary of our experience: 1. Was way to hot in the building 2. Our table was sticky like it had not been cleaned 3. Ordered a draft beer and they came back 5 minutes after ordering to tell me it was out. 4. Ordered another draft which came back almost completely flat and not very cold. 5. Server was new but doesn’t seems like they were trained very well. 6. On the third attempt for a drink I ordered a bottled beer which came out after our food came out. Don’t waste your time with this place… What a joke.

They closed the Londoner and replaced it with the Lion & Crown pub, located in the same spot in Watter’s Creek. If you’re familiar with this shopping center, you know that parking and driving can be a nightmare, so I wouldn’t attempt to go here on a Friday or Saturday night if you want to retain your sanity. This place is definitely having some grand opening issues. Service was slow and inconsistent. The waiter did not seem to be very familiar with the menu or what was going on. One visit and one server does not define a place, so we will re-review upon returning. We do plan on returning since there simply are not many british pubs around, and this is basically the only option for those of us up north. It’s a little pricy for what it is, seems like a better place to enjoy a cold beer than get food. The food is very hit and miss. Some of our entrees were decent and some were just not good. I’m giving the third star since I enjoyed the shepherd’s pie and my order wasn’t the one that got screwed up. I’ll update the review after a few visits. Be warned, this place isn’t really ready to be open for business quite yet. I’d let the dust settle for a few more weeks(9÷22÷15 at the time of writing this) before you attempt a visit.
