I’ve never had an experience like I have had before with Kevin. I’m extremely pleased. He was crazy busy when I came in, and luckily I work in service industry so I understood. He made sure my boyfriend and I’s experience was wonderful. He deserves a raise. He deserves a management position. Hell, give him his own store. Thank you Kevin. Him and I never get to go out and you made one of our rare dates one to remember. Thank you.

We had a wonderful experience tonight at Cru, thanks primarily to the two hosts, Matthew and Nicole. Patio was super crowded and busy due to the music on the green, but these two made sure we: got a great table, put in our orders, and checked on us frequently. They even stopped to chat and that’s when our suspicions were confirmed that these two were brother and sister! Very refreshing to see two employees who genuinely loved their jobs and strived to make our experience a positive one. Will definitely be coming back, mostly due to these two!

Cool little place… great wine selections and well thought out flights but entrees are over priced… good service, great location.

Ate here on a crowded lively Saturday nite. Staff was able to accomodate us with a quick seating but the waitress asked for our patience as they were very busy. This was the first clue that we’d be having a meal when Cru was a bit«off». First, our waitress worked very hard and was professional. Service was slow but considering the crowd no biggie. Salads, a Little Gems Lettuces(huge and chunk full of goodies) and a Brussels Sprouts salad were very good and represented good value. Sadly, entrees were quite another story, Lamb Lollipops, ordered medium rare, came out medium/medium well. Filet was served at room temperature with a cold glob of Maytag Blue Cheese on top with only a drop or two of the promised Rosemary Chianti Sauce. Potato Fennel Gratin? HEAVY gray and greasy. Unappealing to the max. Scallops were great. Accompanying Risotto was nothing more than well cooked Arborio rice, Risotto it most definitely was not. Its topping of «Golden Tomato Marinara» was 2? small golden tomatoes cut in two. Either the Chef needs some training on preparation or the recipes need to be burned and better ones acquired. Cru, you’ve got a lot of competition at your price points in the immediate area, i.e., Bonnie Ruths, Savour, Brio, Cheesecake Factory, and Mi Cocina. You’ve got the ambiance down pat and have hard working staff out front but fall far short in the kitchen.

I love coming here. Service is spot on. Food is fresh and made to order. We had the Fritto Misto, which had the perfect crispiness and flavor — not greasy at all. I also loved the red wine vinaigrette in my Little Gem Lettuces. We were told that the wine used varies from day-to-day, depending on what bottle is open.

We tried the crab cake Benedict for Sunday Brunch! Amazing! The Belgian waffles were delicious. To top it coffee was excellent with great service.

Wine, food, service = 4 stars Of course I’m not stupid. I know when an establishment advertises free pizza with a bottle of wine purchase… But it’s a fun experience. Our server Nancy was very knowledgeable and gracious. She only showed up when necessary and with efficiency and a quick Witt. The wine a Cabernet from Mendoza was superb. The steak pizza different but satisfying and the Choco lava cake, yes! So I say go go go

I really wanted to give them 4 stars, the lamb lollipops were great, my wife’s fish dinner was good, the desserts were awesome, but my scallops were just ok. I’ve made way better(way)! Plus for an entrée plate you only only get 3. Our waitress was ok, not overbearing but she didn’t know the wine, it’s a wine bar, kind of important. They do have a good selection of wines(Texas included) and not all napa valley. We’ll go there again but after we try some of the other restaurants in the same area. Wish Firewheel was as cool as this place.

I really like Cru and I prefer the Allen location just slightly over the Plano one. Food is great at both locations, but I find the service in Allen better and the atmosphere more relaxed. In addition to wine, here is what I suggest you order for an evening of indulgence: Goat cheese beignets — so smooth and creamy, so flavorful, just perfect Steak Pizza — great crust, just enough steak, and some spring greens to make you feel like you you’re having a well rounded meal Chocolate fondue — this is dessert perfection and enough to share for at least 4 people. The chocolate is dark and creamy and all the dippables(yes, I’m making up words) are great. My favorites are the strawberries and cake squares.

Fantastic place to dine. The service is excellent. Right on time. They give you suggestions on what might like you(and it was perfect to us!). The food is excellent too. The right amount of portions(you don’t want to go huge on any dish). I recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a nice meal, delicate, exquisite, with flavors and taste and high quality products. We are coming back!

Recently made our first visit, at happy hour, and loved it. Sydney gave a great intro to the wines and food. We tri d 4 different flights and it was a great way to find some new favorites. We tried 4 different food items which were all good. The cedar plank salmon especially so. And really appreciated them customizing our cheese platter. We will be back.

Slow service but nice ambiance! $ 7 wine glass at happy hour. You buy a bottle and pizza is on them. They don’t accept Discover. Will definitely come back.

I went to Cru last night with a friend for an after work dinner. We sat outside on the patio because the weather was so nice. At that time, there was no one else sitting outside, but most of the tables were taken not too long afterward. The patio overlooks the small grassy area and pond — there were children playing but were not disruptive. Behind us was a raised patio for another restaurant, but it was also not disruptive until we were getting ready to leave and noticed the smell of cigarette smoke. We started with the Goat Cheese Beignets because I’ve had them before and they are excellent. I know they sound odd, but the hot, melty goat cheese inside mixed with the honey is divine. The black pepper doesn’t really make much of a difference. We also decided to take advantage of «Pizza Mondays,» that is, buy any bottle of wine and get any pizza on the menu for free! We tried three samples of white wine, then decided on the Epilogue Sauvignon Blanc($ 40). It had a nice bite to it and went well with our meal and the lightness of spring. I wanted the wild mushroom pizza but my friend dislikes mushrooms and wanted chicken. Our server, Benny, said it would be no problem at all and they made the half and half pizza exactly to our liking. The pizza came with basil pesto sauce and two cheeses and was also delicious. Throughout dinner, several servers checked on us and poured more wine(which was kept chilled at the table) when our glasses were nearing empty. We stayed and chatted for a while, and Benny was unobtrusive but checked on us occasionally to ensure we were taken care of. We ordered chocolate fondue for dessert, which was a good size to share between two people. It was a simple milk chocolate fondue, sitting in a little container with a candle under it. It was brought to the table at the perfect temperature. It came with plenty of bananas, strawberries, miniature biscotti, pound cake and pirouettes. It was a nice finish to the meal. Service was good this evening and we would have no problem returning.

Nice place with nice staff. The wine selection is fancy smancy and expensive. Imported beer, no Dos Equis. The flat bread was good, didn’t like the prosciutto wraps. Bottled Doctor Pepper made with Imperial Sugar!!! They were nice hosts for Paint Nite Dallas! The Watters Creek area is a nice shopping area.

Granted it was Valentines Day evening but we walked up and were immediately seated at a great table outside. We sat there for 25 minutes before the young man greeting guests came back out and apologized. No fault to him. It’s not his job. He brought menus and took our order for two drinks. The drinks arrived by our waitress. First time we had seen her. No one ever asked if we even wanted food. Waitress finally came back and brought a check. Awful experience. Avoid this place.

Just stopped in for drinks with some friends saturday night after dinner, The wait staff were awesome. They brought us chairs when more friends arrived without us even asking. One lady even dimmed the lights when she noticed my friend looking up at the ceiling several times. The wine menu was ok, prices good. Quiet enough to have a conversation with just the right touch of ambiance.

Overpriced(2 appetizers and two glasses of wine $ 54.00). Waitress was total rude, interrupted or conversation several times and even uphold me on wine saying that the next bottle she brought out had a better flavor(apparently the previous bottle had a moldy taste all of a sudden) and promptly added the difference in price to the bill. Appetizers tasted ok.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Cru… especially the location at the Shops at Legacy, but this location at Watters Creek seems to be getting worse and worse. I was looking forward to a nice dinner out a few Saturdays ago with my boyfriend. We made a reservation and as soon as we walked in, I got the impression they were understaffed and irritated. I sat at my table for about 10 minutes and no one assisted with drinks or the bread I had requested. Several people were looking around for service. Not a good situation. We got up and walked over to Bonnie Ruth’s and had an amazing experience. I will not return to this Cru location.

I’ll try to make this short and sweet. We were at Watter’s Creek over the weekend enjoying the GORGEOUS weather. We were a group consisting of six adults and three kids under the age of 3. We started off at Grimaldi’s for lunch, then ventured off to the open grassy area where the kids played for a while, and around 2 or 3pm decided the weather was so perfect and that a glass of wine would hit the spot. We got to Cru, there was a perfect table waiting for us on the patio… score…except for the umbrella was broken and the server(who mentioned she was the only server there) didn’t seem too concerned by this broken umbrella. A fellow patron sitting next to us actually helped us out by giving us a paper clip that we used to prop the umbrella open. The server was nice, but just unable to really give us quality service(i’m giving her positive intent here). My friend even had to open the bottle of champagne for her, which he didn’t mind doing, but that’s part of the service one might expect at a wine bar. Overall, weather was so nice that we enjoyed ourselves anyway, but we won’t be back to this location anytime soon. The server did the best she probably could, but it’s not enough to get us back to that location.

What is going on with this place? It used to be so good and well priced. Now it is just overpriced wine and a menu that doesn’t make sense. But it’s such a nice location and patio that I can handle the weak wine selection on occassion. However last week me and a friend showed up and asked for a table outside. They were busy but it was a pretty Thursday evening, I feel like in Dallas thay is to be expected. Well the waiter rolled his eyes at us and just waved for us to go sit ohtside. We waited for 10 minutes just to get menu’s and glasses of water. After another 5, we decided to not pay $ 15 a glass for crapy service and mediocre wine. We left and no one even cared. This placed used to be a great little. wine bar but now it’s just a mess.

You guys, this is one of the best, best-kept secrets in north dallas! $ 12 bottomless mimosas! WHA!!! Also, check out the menu. I’ma wine snob. I love wine and these folks know their wine. So even after pigging out on brunch, it’s a good place to stay for more wine. Will be returning soon!

Dropped by Cru last night for a quick flight of Cabernet with the wife. I gotta say, the wine is an added plus, the staff is the selling point. The woman behind the bar loves talking about wine as much as I love drinking it, and she KNOWSHERSTUFF. I always leave here feeling a bit more educated on grapes. I know my wine, but she knows a lot more. We discussed French and Italian wines and she taught me a lot. My flight was as normal, from OK to awesome. I again left with a list of bottles I want to buy. Hats off to Cru, I’m so glad I have this as my go to spot in Allen!

Just finished a fantastic brunch here with the husband — it was to say the least, perfect! We’ve always love coming here and have undoubtedly had the best service. I’m not sure what the other reviews are about, but Cru really does care about service and your dining experience. Becca, in our case today, was fantastic. Not once was our glasses ever empty and service was impeccable. Thank you, Becca. You made a good day great! We’ve been to all three locations but love this one the best. The Sunday brunch is superb — crab cakes eggs benedict and steak and eggs plus bottomless mimosas — to die for, really! Great prices for a quaint fine-dining experience with a sophisticated touch. I can’t say enough — try them all — the flights, appetizers and entrees, really love this place.
