The Lofts at Watters Creek

I was a tenant at the Amli and will say I regret not renewing my lease with them. I signed on here thinking this would be a very nice living arrangements. As previous tenants had stated, the place is outdated. The pool is too small. The amenities are not spectacular. The management team has a very condescending attitude about everything. The parking situation is also a nightmare. Very overpriced for a small space. This is not the East Coast folks. This is Texas.

We have lived here for about over a year and love it. A few problems have occurred but they have either compensated or fixed the issues.
I love being able to run around whenever I’m bored at home or when it snows we’re the only ones outside st night and jogging around the complex is awesome because you have quite a bit too look at.
You get some discounts at the restaurants pending which ones. You get to know the staff at the places and they remember what you get.
The facilities are nice, wish the pool was bigger so i could swim without kids near me.
Staff is very friendly and the maintenence crew are awesome!
The rent is above average. I mean you live in a high end community, what do you expect!
The floor plans are nice too. Opted for the single with the flex space because it feels much more open than some of the 2 bedrooms.
They are expanding and we are going to look at then once they are avaliable so we are excited!
There are also a lot of community events that take place here so you always get a chance to meet the residents! Also the chef at bios makes visits here to cook for the residents once or twice a month!

Do NOT move here. I just recently moved out after staying temporarily in between houses. We loved the idea of living here, walking to stores, bars, restaurants, etc. After our first month here, we regretted the decision but were stuck.
First of all, this is the most expensive apartment we’ve ever lived in. We were ok with that thinking about all the perks, and expecting the staff to treat us much better than a normal apt complex staff. Boy were we wrong. I’ll try to sum up all the ridiculous issues we put up with below:
1. Day one the cable guy needs access to the closet on the floor to install my internet. The assistant «manager» tells takes the cable guys drivers license, gives him the key to the closet, tells him I have no idea where the closet is and I’m leaving in 15 minutes. If you’re not back, you will have to come back on Monday to get your license. The cable guy left and we spent our first weekend in the new apartmetn without tv or internet.
2. 1^st week — maintenance guy comes over to look at our disposal. First time we tried to use it, it didn’t work. I’m at work, just my wife at home. He find glass (a lot of glass) in the disposal. He accuses my wife of putting glass down the sink. My wife tells him we didn’t do that, why would anyone put glass in a disposal? He continues to accuse her saying they test all this stuff prior to people moving in. He’s lucky I wasn’t home.
3. Parking nazi’s. When we moved in there was no signage in the garage stating that residents couldn’t park anywhere in the garage. Sure, there was a designated area for residents, but it would fill up occasionally, so we were parking in the customer area. We received an email from lofts «management» asking everyone to please park only in the resident section. Great, now I know. A couple hours later I went down to my car and it had a big sticker on the window telling me unauthorized parking. My wife had the same. These stickers were put on even before this email came out. I called «management» and they said «Not our problem, that’s lofts security, call them». No care at all about their residents, the attitude is just get off my phone.
4. The biggest one of all, the sewage smell. We starting getting a very strong sewage smell in our apartment about 1 month in. We reported it to «management» and they told us the city was doing some work, so give it some time. Great. A month goes by and the city work is over and we still have sewage smell periodically in our apartment. «management» tells us they will look into it. A week passes and i start reporting every incident. «Management» schedules a smoke test to check for leaks and calls me the next morning saying «we didn’t find any leaks, not much else we can do». Really? We just live with the smell? A couple weeks later they reach out to me saying the retail business below me has the same problem and guess what? The next day plumbers are on site all night long digging into the issue. Long story short, we lived in a toilet for 10 months, and only got the help we needed when retail reported teh same issue.
To sum up, the management has a bad attitude, doesn’t care about residents, and once you’re in, you are nothing to them. Retail is all that matters. We loved being able to walk to the local shops/​bars/​grocery. The residents were all nice. The management team and their staff (a reflection of management) ruined it. Incompetent.

I’m giving it one star because I have to. This place is awful!!! Great place to visit… terrible to live at. Too expensive for what you get. Apartments need to be updated. Make sure to look at a few rooms before you decide to move in. Pay close attention to the details. Make sure all your outlets work and ask if your stove is going to explode after living there for just three months. Floors are awful and you have to clean them two-​three times a day. Yes, day! The entrance of the Lofts is very deceitful. That’s why you ask to see more than one room, and don’t let them tell you they don’t have any to show you, because they do. And you can forget about working out at the gym they have, because there’s a guy who runs his fitness classes at the gym daily, and you won’t be able to get a workout there. Now if you’re 40 don’t mind paying a lot for a little, enjoy cleaning, don’t mind walking through ugly hallways, stepping on dog crap while taking a walk, don’t work out, this might be the place for you. The only reason why I stayed for so long, was work was nearby and it was a safe area. Probably should have done more research before I moved in. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Look at other places. The others Kristie A. didn’t like here so she doesn’t matter, and Shannon moved in when this place was only two years old, and Jack moved in 5 yrs later after it was built, and myself 8 yrs. later. This place has not been around long enough to have all these issues. Apartments are terrible, too small, too expensive!

To the girl and explained what me and my husband were looking for, after taking the time to explain our needs the rep who answered the phone says she would love to give me info but she’s currently in a meeting with someone else… If she can call me later. I said no and hung up. If you are busy and don’t have time for inquiries you simy say from the beginning you are busy from get go. I wouldn’t be upset and give them a 1 star review if she hadn’t wasted my time, I can see how if someone rents there this can be an ongoing thing when trying to get something resolved. No thank you, I rather put our family and money elsewhere. If you need an inquiry go to their website it’s more informative than the people answering the phones.

Lived there for over a year and I’m telling you it’s not worth the money. Poorly ran place that you will regret. Look at other places!!!

Disclaimer — I don’t live here, but my friend Shannon R does. This place is the bombdiggity, oh yeah, I just brought that word back. The lofts sit in the back of a very nice shopping area. There are restaurants like Blue Fish, Village Burger Bar, etc. And shops like Victoria’s Secret, Old Navy, etc. I noticed a Toni and Guy as well. There’s also a grocery delivery service. So you can see there’s not much reason to ever leave the area, especially if you could get a job at one of the shops. :D
The actual apartments are brand spanking new and have black appliances and dark wood cabinets with hard wood floors. Again, I can only speak to Shannon’s place, but its pretty kickass.
The pool area is kind of small given the size of the apartments, but we still managed to snag some lawn chairs on a busy Sunday afternoon.
Overall, what a cool place to live. I can’t wait to visit and explore more of the shopping. If this place wasn’t outside of the 214 I would consider moving here myself.

I just moved in and so far I am loving it! I should’ve done this a long time ago. The leasing staff is very helpful and friendly. This location is great if that’s your kind of thing. There are a ton of restaurants, shops and random things to do over here.
I can’t wait to finish exploring the area!
