Legacy ER & Urgent Care

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place! No one likes being sick or visiting the doctor — but when it happens this is the place to go. I showed up, got treated and was out the door before care now called me back. They were efficient, professional and personable. I kinda wanted this hidden gem to be kept a secret but they deserve your business.

I would have loved to get a better experience at Legacy.
It was my first time at Legacy Urgent Care. Often times, trust starts from the first person and yes, first impressions matter. The clinical personnel at the front desk wasn’t friendly and wouldn’t maintain eye contact; she had her eyes on the computer most of the time and didn’t really give me much information about even the basic stuff. So I left and went to the next one.
I wouldn’t go there again.

Been to this urgent care 3 times and every time it was fast and efficient. Great peeps here. I had gone to the one in Frisco but after a move this one is more convenient but I would put my stamp of approval on both… Best of all,. No crazy bills afterwards like the ERs that are popping up everywhere

BEWARE — they charge a $ 242 New Patient Fee!!! I just received the bill — two months after our visit — to discover that they charged a $ 242 new patient fee. After all was said and done, the total bill was $ 505 — for taking two x-​rays of my son’s fractured finger and putting an aluminum finger splint on his finger — about 10 minutes total.
We will NEVER do business with Legacy ER & Urgent Care again — because they are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!!

Outstanding experience in all aspects! We took my 1 year old son for what we assumed was an ear infection. We didn’t even sit down before we were called back. The PAs were friendly and helpful, and Dr. Ford was knowledgeable and approachable. We had a diagnosis, prescription and were on our way in less than 20 minutes. Highly recommended!

Our experience in general has been good but a certain Dr. who has seen both me and my wife has not been great. It’s as if she wants to examine you standing at the door and when she does come in, she is gone in a matter of a minute.
It seems like she is afraid of getting sick but you are Dr. lady so act like it. If you do not have enough compassion or professionalism to have the proper bed side manner then you should find yourself something else to do. I have told my wife that if we are going back, we will make sure that she is not the Dr who will see us.

This place is great — I used to go to elsewhere, but since I tried Legacy ER, I will go way out of my way to go here instead. The staff is exceptionally caring, and they are very quick — also the facility is nice and clean. Highly recommended

I went in with all the symptoms of a stomach bug and dehydration. I let them know exactly how I was feeling. Everything was going fine. I got my IV. Then they started the nausea medicine followed by pain medicine. Then all of sudden after I get medicated they tell me the need to take me in for a scan and blood work. I asked the nurse if this was gonna be expensive or if this was a little excessive. This is what you have insurance for shouldn’t be more than 150 $. After all is said and done nothing found in scan or blood work. Just diagnosed with stomach flu and dehydration like I originally came in for I was taken advantage of for 700 dollars out of pocket before i left the facility. Unnecessary testing just to rack up a bill. Place is a rip off I will not be returning for any ailments

Dr. Ford was great. He was very nice and made sure I was comfortable. I was only there about an hour.
I just got a bill for facility use for $ 1500.00. The Dr bill was 400.00. My 200.00 I paid at the counter was just a drop in the bucket. My insurance paid for 400.00. Unbelievable! If I would had known, I wouldn’t had went there. Looking at it 2000.00 an hour! This place is making a killing! How do they sleep at night?

We took our son in for an x-​ray after a football game. We initially had to pay $ 500 that night. Then, they sent another bill 10 months later for $ 3000!!! after it had bounced back and forth between the insurance company. In the end, we had to go into their office and insist on speaking to someone in charge who was not there during a week day! We finally got it reduced to only $ 1500! INSANE! AND NEVER AGAIN. Total rip off and would recommend going somewhere else.

The service was great (fast, knowledgeable, etc.) but they charged me $ 242 for being a new patient. BCBS took about $ 22 off of that, but that is still an excessive amount. The other charges seemed very reasonable to me, but I doubt I’ll be returning because I don’t want to get slammed with some other absurd charge.
Ended up costing me about $ 265 (post-​insurance adjustments) for a severe sore throat… and most of that was the «new patient charge.» I definitely recommend Legacy Urgent Care for its service and its facility, but a $ 242 new patient charge? That’s exorbitant and unnecessary.

Highly recommend this place! I walked in at 4:30 today and was out about 30 minutes later. They are very nice and patient with you. I love their facility… it was very sleek, open design and clean too!

If you you need an Urgent Care, and live in the area, would recommend Legacy over the others in a heartbeat. Clean, modern, comfortable facility, super quick in and out (I pre-​registered, but still filled out 1^st-​time patient info — short & sweet), and they seem tech savey, which lukely aided in speed. Friendly, professional staff (I interacted with 6 people, including the doc), and Dr. Patel was very nice. I went in on a Sunday at 7 pm.

Fast, convenient and intelligent physician. If you are looking for pain relief, you better have your documents and story backed up. Don’t try to get pain meds without a need as you will be found out here. It took a little longer to get pain relief, but verification is important to avoid doctor shoppers. They called my surgeon and the tone changed immediately as they confirmed my symptoms and need. Know that they will check how and where you have been getting pain meds.

I have been to this facility a few times since the first of the year and every time has been a positive experience until yesterday. I went in yesterday morning 5÷12÷15 after being sent home from work with a fever. When I got there I gave the front office my new insurance info and they scanned it in, had me fill out a a few sheets of paper and I was called back by the intake nurse after giving me a flu and strep test I was put in a room. The doctor came in shortly after and was wonderful, he has great bedside manner and answered all my questions and made me feel very taken care of. He offered me a steroid injection for my sinus infection and said I would feel much better after a while, I accepted the injection. The intake nurse came in with the injection and I pulled my pants down for her to give the injection (I am a medical assistant and I am very familiar with IM injections, the placements and precautions) this girl lifted my shirt up and stuck me in my back no where near the proper injection site and I’m assume she hit a vein and did not check to make sure she wasn’t in a vein as I bleed profusely after wards. I have has plenty of steroid injections in my life time for chronic sinus infections. I have never had one hurt as bad at this one did. I have a huge bruise on my back from the injection and numbness and pain in my left leg. I have called the office several times today trying to get a hold of management and they keep telling me their manager is in meetings all day. I have told them I am in extreme pain and they said they would speak to the doctor. I called at 9:00am and again at 12:30pm it is 3:40pm and I have still heard nothing. I would just like to make sure this nurse is trained properly on injections so that no one else has to go thru this experience. It is extremely dangerous to have someone injecting pt’s that has no idea what they are doing.
My recommendation for this office would be to do proper injection training and make sure their nurses feel comfortable administering them and also be more compassionate when you have someone calling about a mistake made by your office. My office manager would step out of a meeting or call in between meetings to make sure the patient calling had been properly taken care of.

I was sent to Legacy ER by Minute Clinic. Registration took only a minute and a minute later I was being called back. They immediately started checking my symptoms and gave me some medication. Afterwards, I was sent to the ENT Doctor and only had a short wait to see her. She diagnosed me and I was on my way to get medication not long after. Time from registration start to walking out the door was only 30 minutes. Highly recommend going here, only Urgent Care copay until 9pm.

They are so helpful. I get in right away to see the Dr, I’m diagnosed and on my way. Super friendly staff.

I went to Legacy ER 10÷24÷14 with cardiac symptoms (sudden rapid increase in BP, chest tightness, heart palpitations) as an urgent care patient. After examination and blood work, I was admitted as an ER patient. While the staff was nice and helpful (although I was the only one there and it seemed to take FOREVER for anything to get done), I was ultimately advised to go to the Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano for overnight observation (due to a heart murmur they found while I was there), and although I was stable, was told my husband couldn’t take me — I had to be taken there by ambulance. I was admitted to Baylor that night and released 18 hours later.
I returned to Legacy ER today to pick up the blood work from that visit for an upcoming doctor’s visit, and was stunned when I read through my patient record. According to the doctor’s notes, she advised me to have the blood work done, which put me into ER patient status. This is not true. She never asked me if I wanted a blood workup, the staff just did it. We didn’t know I was an «ER patient» until the lady up front came looking for my husband to pay the insurance copay. The doctor also wrote in the notes that I specifically requested Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano. That is incorrect. I didn’t even know it existed until that night, and even if I had, wouldn’t have requested it when Presby of Allen is a mile away and I could be transported there myself. The doctor told me and my husband that based on what was going on with me, the best course of action was to go to BHH. We were scared, and tired… and figured she knew best.
I can tell you right off the bat that the forced ambulance transport down to BHH was nearly a thousand dollars out of pocket. It physically hurt to write out that check. Now that I know that I apparently had a choice in where I went, I never would’ve gone to BHH. It was too far away (and my husband had to drive back and forth several times) and in my opinion was too «much» of a hospital for what I had going on. Why on Earth would I choose a hospital half an hour away from my home for «observation»? That’s right, I wouldn’t.
FWIW, the issue was ultimately found to be a magnesium deficiency. A couple IV bags of magnesium and the various cardiac/​muscle/​TMJ/​cramping issues that had been plagueing me for weeks disappeared and I was back to my marathon training. I’ve felt great since.
I’m furious, and will be sending a letter to whoever is in charge of these facilities. The amount of out-​of-​pocket expenses we had incurred because the doctor took it upon herself to note that I had requested a hospital I didn’t…well, I won’t ever come back to this place. I felt like I was being taken care of at the time, but now? Well… I feel like I was sent to an expensive hospital using an expensive transport company so Legacy ER could get a nice kickback. JMHO.

Dont go here unless you want to pay through the nose.
I went here late on evening in june for flem in my chest. Care provided was good. But simple. I got a two shots and prescribed anti biotics. Was charge 150 dollar copay. Which I thought was high. But insurance is crap these day.
Fast forward to sept 5, 2014. When I open my mail to a 1900 dollar bill from the company and a 350 dollar bill from the doctor.
Why am I shocked???
1) I didnt fully understand this was an actual ER.
2) the price for the work done.
Why am I pissed???
Because it took almost 90 days for a bill to be mailed to me. And I didnt recieve said bill till after I had went there again aug 30.
Had I know about the first visits high cost and that it was considering itself an er. I would of never went back again. At least not for minor stuff.
My second visit was dehydration from throwing up all night. I wasnt that bad that time either. If I knew this wasnt an urgent care place. I would have never gone there. Let alone twice.
Now im stuck having to pay 2300 for first visit. And most likely another 1000 for second visit because now I HAVE actually hit my 3k deductible.
But heres my second reason im mad. I know my health provider wont pay full bill cost. They will pay a discounted rate. Why does UHC get to pay a discounted rate. But we the people have to pay full price???

I took my 10 year old daughter there on July 4^th. I was so happy to find out that they took our insurance and were able to see us quickly. At my first impression I was amazed at how clean and modern the place was. Also the front desk girl was so warm and friendly. We didn’t have to fill out a million papers everything was electronic.
We were immediately brought back to our room and met the nurse. He was very friendly as well and put my daughter at ease. The doctor came in and checked her out, we got our x-​Ray, and we finished everything within the hour!
The doctor also went out of his way to find a doctor for our follow-​up that accepted our insurance.
I will go there next time I have an emergency! It is so conveniently located.
