FOR A PAINLESS DENTIST TRY THIS GUY
After years of being dissatisfied with my old dentist I came to Doc Placido on the advise of an associate of mine. For me going to a dentist has never been something I enjoyed so much, but going to doctor Placido is more like going to the barber shop; he is friendly, tells good stories but always professional. Doctor Placido always takes time to answer all of your questions— he makes you feel very comfortable– a great guy.
Six months ago I had a crown break off while I was eating and was in a lot of discomfort. It was late on a Friday afternoon so I figured I was really screwed and would have to wait until Monday even if I could an appointment. When I called the doctor’s office to ask his receptionist if I could get an appointment on Monday for my broken crown, she said that she would let the doctor know (at the time he was with a patient) but that he would call me back. 15 minutes later doctor Placido called me and said that he had an event he had to go to at 6PM but that he would come back to the office at 8PM and hook me up with a temporary crown. I was floored!!! Never have I had a dentist, or just about anyone show that kind of dedication.
I can’t say enough good things about this guy.

I have been seeing Dr. Placido for 5 years, and have referred other family members to him. He is highly competent, very accommodating of emergencies and his staff is great.

I went to Placido because of an abcessed tooth. I asked him if he performs root canal, to which he replied that he performs the full spectrum of dental services. He took a look at the tooth and handed me a prescription of antibiotic, which was filled the same day. The next day, my face continued to swell and I returned again. He instructed me to double up the dosage of antibiotics. He did nothing even though he knew I was a diabetic. By the third day, my face swelled up even more. I was unable to eat, sleep, chew because of the swelling and the pain. I strongly suggested some action be taken or I would seek help elsewhere. I even begged him to extract the tooth if he was not going to contain the infection. He wasted 2 days before he performed a much needed root canal procedure. He should have acted promptly by sending me to another dentist or take prompt action instead of just looking at the abcessed tooth during each visit. Now I learn that there are specialists for root canal procedures. His indecision and failure to take timely action causing me to suffer unnecessarily. You decide whether he is a good dentist or not. Another review said he is a good mayor. Being a good mayor does not make him a good dentist.

I’m as much of a fan of my dentist as one can be. Dr. Placido is the painless dentist. I’ve never had any issues and he’s been my dentist literally my entire life. Linda, his assistant, is fantastic. She’s super friendly and professional. Sidenote: Dr. Placido’s a pretty good mayor too! haha
