Edwards Alhambra Renaissance 14 & IMAX

Went to 13 Hours today at 4pm. Awesome movie. BUT what kind of stupid walks through a movie theater while movie about snipers and attacks is on the screen with red light cone?! This Theater Management sends Employees to quote Mgr. Jens «to check if anyone is using cell phones and to check exit doors for your Security! Theater policy!» 3 people were in the theater. Can’t catch from booth if we’re on the phone? Why do you need a lite? Why do you need to walk across front of theater all way up one side, turn around and walk all the way back? First Guy only walked one way. Either way annoying as Hell. Totally distracting from movie. Shitty /​Shitty Policy!!! Go to different theater! (No refunds for employee /​management stupidity!!!)

I was here yesterday and it was nice to see armed security guards! It’s nice to see that Edwards theaters take security serious. Will definitely be coming back to this location the only thing I didn’t like was that the seats are a little on the small side!

There are many movie theaters to choose from within driving distance of the Pasadena area. I’m always looking for the one with the best stadium seating, fewest number of people and greatest access to the best restaurants. I believe that the Edwards Renaissance here in Alhambra combines just those things. This is a rather large theater with stadium seating situated within the area of Asian restaurants that I know all of you enjoy. They offer student discounts but I find that there are many times where we make it for the matinée. They have coke icee which is a plus and a little arcade area while you wait or while you finish up your movie evening. I have yet to use their IMAX theater but the rest of the theater showing rooms are nicely spaced and you never get in that annoying position of having to look over someone’s head. I did dock a point because the theater we walked into was not adequately cleaned. there was popcorn on the floor, drinks in the holders and stuff strewn all over the place. Take some pride in your theater and you can definitely earn that extra star! Plenty of parking and it’s within walking distance to many many restaurants.

IMAX 3D for Star Wars sounded so great. I’ve always had a good experience at this Edwards, so I took my cousin to see it here. It’s usually easy to get in and out of the parking structure, but with the craziness of Star Wars and the holidays, it took about 40 minutes to find a space and get inside the theater.
Once inside, I presented my prepaid ticket and we entered. I asked the girl checking tickets if we were supposed to get glasses. She looked at me blankly and said, «We’re out.» Ummm, how am I sold a ticket for 3D if you don’t have glasses. So I asked her what my options were. «I think someone’s getting them,» she said as she continued collecting tickets. Ok, so I waited. After 10 minutes, I asked her if there was some place I could go to get glasses because waiting was producing anything yet. The previews were already starting. She just shrugged, and I was just about to ask to see a manager when someone brought a box of them. All the folks in the same situation grabbed what they could and ran into the theater.
I realize that a lot of the workers are high school and college kids, so I won’t let one situation mar my previously good experience with the theater too much.

Sunday’s and Tuesday’s are $ 5! What a steal! I’ve been coming to this theater for a while now and I think its great. Parking is easy for the most part and it’s near a Menchie’s! It’s not an über crazy theater but offers a fairly good experience.

This theater is in a good location with parking and restaurants. But it can get crowded on weekends. The theater itself has comfortable seats and the staff were friendly. I usually prefer to buy from the self served kiosk so I don’t have to wait in line. However, they only have one kiosk to buy tickets. Not sure why they only have one self-​served kiosk when AMC usually has more than a few in most of their locations.

I never really liked this theater growing up in Alhambra. I always preferred going somewhere else but I still go because my mom loves that they do $ 5 movies on Tuesday and Sunday.
But I had the worst experience last week and it put the cherry on top. I went on a Tuesday when they were having a deal so it was packed!
They always have long lines which is completely understandable but their workers move so slow. I use to work at the theaters and we always worked fast to avoid long wait times, especially at the concession stand.
While I was in the theater I lost my wallet and I didn’t realize until I got back home (I live almost an hour away near my college and had work in the morning). When I realized that I lost it I called my mom and she said I probably left it at the theater. So I called the theater but no one would answer! I called about 5 – 6 times until I finally got an answer. The manager told me there was a movie in session and that I wouldn’t be able to go look for my wallet until they got out at 11:45 pm! My parents weren’t going to stay up that late and I did not want to drive back so far. I asked her if she can send a worker and she told me that it’s better if I looked myself. After she hung up I decided to wait and call again when the movie was out, again 5 – 6 times (20 mins later) until I got an answer. She answered again and told me the time the next movie got out since it already started. I was so upset because she could have taken the time to look for my wallet or at least send a worker to look. This use to happen all the time at our theater and we made sure to look well at least once or twice. It’s a pink wallet and you could not miss it.
The next day my mom went in to look for it in the theater. Someone already turned it in and stole all my money and gift cards I got for Christmas!
Customer service I give a huge fat ⁰⁄₅ stars if I could. I’m sorry but they need a new manager, not sure if she was in a bad mood from all the people but she was rude!

The parking structure is behind Edwards. There several street entrances. We usually enter from Garfield Ave just north of Main St.
We used the discount Regal tickets which costs about $ 9.99 each. 14 theaters under one roof.
After all these years, the seats are still OK. The theater floor seemed clean and not sticky.
In general, the previews are a bit long in all theaters. Our solution is to walk in 20 mins after the start time.
We watched the Martian movie this past weekend. Spoiler alert: Matt Damon survived.
We don’t drink soda or eat popcorn. I would buy roasted peanut or roasted chestnut if they were on the menu.

This theater is still old school & it can be difficult in finding parking when there is a popular movie out. There is another parking lot you can park across the street on Garfield Ave.
The IMAX is not a real IMAX screen. I find it smaller than some of the larger formats that are out there. Not worth paying the extra money.
They have $ 5 deals on Sunday & Tuesday’s. Can’t beat that if you enjoy seating in a theater.

Overall a decent theater. Could use a physical update and more drink options. Needs more staff at ticket booth.
There were about 40 people in line for matinée. One person at ticket booth. They encourage to use ticket kiosk with credit card. Impersonal. The movie listing board in the booth does not list all the movie times. They try to push the higher price IMAX and 3D showtimes. I really dont appreciate this. Anyone walking up will not see regular showtimes for Star Wars.
At concessions, they have okay selection of overpriced food options. Drinks not so much. Only water or soda. Very 1970’s like. This is 2015, people want choices.
Free parking is a perk. Seating arrangement is good for short people without people in front blocking the view. Located in a small corner mall with other food options for before or after movie eating.

One time here and I’m a fan.
I have not been to this theater and I must say the design, color and surroundings are quite nice and friendly.
The surrounding area is worth strolling around; it’s clean and easy to navigate, even with strollers.
Easy parking and a short walk to the entrance is a bonus.
Customer service: good.
The A/​C is good; the seats are clean and comfortable and theater screen is large.

I love having a theater with IMAX near my house! This theater is always clean and the staff is friendly. The IMAX screen is huge! From the floor to the ceiling!
The concessions are good but definitely do not recommend the Nathan’s hot dogs! They are skinny, tasteless and not worth $ 6.
I do appreciate the special prices they provide on Sundays, not all theaters do that.

It gets the usual suspects for the big releases peppered with some smaller boutique films. So it should have a little something for everyone. I like this theater because the crowds usually aren’t too assholish and jabbering/​texting on their phones throughout a film. The place is clean and has plenty of free parking.
But the best part is…$ 5 Tuesdays/​and Sundays… MAAAAAAN. Even if you watched a stinker of a film on those days… it would only $ 5 for a theater experience! Can’t beat that. That’s mad value right there.

All day $ 6 dollar movies on Tuesdays!!! There are bunch of restaurants near by so it’s a perfect hang out spot on a Tuesday night if you don’t like big crowds.
This Edwards is super clean and I had a good solid experience at this location. I would definitely come back!
I just have trouble figuring out which days or which locations have this amazing deal because there is no landline to contact any locations!

This place is the place to go during Sunday and Tuesday’s. The tickets are half off, $ 6. 3D is 10 dollars on those days and 13 dollars for iMax. Bottom line this place is as good as it gets if you are on a budget and it’s a Tuesday or Sunday.
The environment is outdated. The theater has been here since the early 2000’s. There hasn’t been any large renovations except for the addition of imax this pass half a decade. The seating is stadium style and no they aren’t as fancy as other places that offer leather seats with mechanical adjustments. This place is pretty old school, which I like a lot.
If you come on another day except Tuesday and Sunday. I advise buying tickets from Costco, your school, or where you can get discounts. The prices are pretty up there now, which I think is a rip off.
FYI: the new plaza across the street now offers new restaurants, shopping, or more. No more cha for tea though. They moved down the block on main next to smart and final and changed its name to its parent company, Ten Ren.

After dinner across the street, I came here to see Sinister 2 alone on Friday 8÷21÷15. It was late in the evening and I expected crowds. No, it was very quiet and no crowds. The ticket price was the average of about $ 12 for an adult.
The concession stand is right there as you walk in for your convenience. I ordered water. From here you just walk to the left to get into the theaters. There was a security guard here, so I think they will check your bags for outside food/​drinks? I maybe wrong. My theatre was right behind the entrance.
This was my first time here at this theatre, but not new to a Regal. This place was huge inside with a large crystal view screen along with awesome sound quality in comfy seats! I was completely amazed as to what this theatre had to offer.
Overall, I really enjoyed this theatre! I would highly recommend this place. They offer $ 6 movies on Sundays & Wednesdays for Regal Crown Reward members. I think this is a sweet deal. There is free parking in the garage behind the theatre.

$ 6 movie tickets on Sunday’s & Tuesday’s ! That is so extremely cheap compared to all the other movie theatres around this area. They have their concessions stand right when you walk in and then afterwards you show your ticket to get in the theatre.
They also have an arcade area where kids can play games on the left hand side.
Their concession stand workers are kind of mehhhh. They all look like they’re high school workers who want the day to pass by quicker.
I love how big their bathrooms are because I hate waiting in long lines to pee. This theatre isn’t as crowded as the Santa Anita mall one or montebello one which is what I like.

Movie theaters are so expensive nowadays, but I admit they are a nice place to go to for dates!
This movie theatre is pretty big! I love the location because they have many shops, restaurants, and goodies nearby! It’s actually a really nice area to go on dates! Go eat something good then go watch a movie after! And there’s dessert to top off the night!
This theatre plays standard and IMAX movies which is a plus if you like 3D movies! I personally get headaches, but kids love it! They also sell popcorn and goodies, pretty pricey, but who doesn’t enjoy popcorn while watching a movie? If you go a little early, they also have a mini arcade inside so you won’t sit there bored waiting for the movie to start.
The theatre rooms are pretty big! Their seats are comfy, and I like how you can move the seat dividers up and down! Cause you know those are in the way when you go on dates! LOL
Overall they are very clean, and they have nice workers!

I pretty much gave up watching new movies in theaters because it costs a fortune to watch movies these days. Last time I went to AMC and tickets for two people were over $ 26, which is ridiculous!
On Sundays and Tuesdays, if you have a Regal card, it only costs $ 5 to watch a movie here! This is all day with no restrictions.
This makes it way more affordable and sits much easier with my wallet.
A lot of people in the reviews complained about dirty theaters, but I didn’t notice any of that the last couple times I came. Staff is pretty friendly and parking is usually pretty easy.

Located in the middle of downtown alhambra. You can grab dinner and watch a movie afterwards! Got lots of food places around like Panda Express, Appelebees, chinese, or whatever you feel like, you are in Alhambra! Big parking lot but sometimes might not be able to find parking if a new movie has just come out.
Make sure to sign up for the Regal Card! Every Tuesday and Sunday, all days movies $ 5 with the card. But without it, its $ 6. Still you can save $ 1!!! No annual fee unlike the AMC.
