My new doctor. Total like! Clean bill of health except I probably need to eat a few more salads. See ya next year!

Doctor Chris is actually a terrific doctor but his support staff is some if the worst I’ve ever encountered. They are difficult to reach, generally unresponsive, and don’t seem to care. Things were better at his prior office but the experience at Inova is awful. If you want a great doctor who can’t be reached, go here.

Dr. Chris has been my doctor for several years now, before and after his move. He’s a doctor who listens, answers questions, researches and generally does more than others do. In other words, he forms a doctor/​patient relationship with you. I can also say that he cares about the whole person, not just the immediately treatable condition. When I was diagnosed with cancer, he didn’t just work with me to treat what he could, find the oncologist, etc., he also made sure I was mentally coping, and offered a reference to psychological support if I needed it. It’s little things like these that make a great doctor, I think.

I’m surprised to read reviews have been filtered which seem completely legitimate – and as one of them states, yes – he has moved his practice to Alexandria from downtown.
I think that everyone has a different relationship with a doctor, so I hesitate to write «reviews» of this type, but suffice it to say that he does take the time to listen, and he definitely brushes up on your history before you sit down (or he has an amazing memory!).

Dr. Z is an intelligent, thorough MD. He takes the time to listen to one’ symptoms, asks specific questions and recommends but the best if he is unable to assist beyond his capacity. He referred me to a neurologist who was able to pinpoint my problem after having wasted my time with 6 previous MDs who were quick to prescribe me with the wrong meds and misdiagnose me for a year. He knew the root of the problem, acted upon it quickly by ordering the right exams and told me who to go to see.
He’s also VERY easy on the eyes. Hello!!!

I have mixed feelings about Dr. Chris. On one hand, his office staff seemed pretty phenomenal; the onsite-​lab is terrific (they gave me a shot and I had no idea the nurse had even started). On the other hand, I’m a little weirded out about the prescription business. Dr. Chris wrote me a prescription that was a slightly different formula prescription than I usually receive. It ended up being a much much more expensive brand-​name pill. I didn’t want to go through the hassle that others have indicated to get it fixed so I just threw down the extra cash. But still, I wonder if he has a deal with some drug companies.
I’d say 2 stars because of the drugs and 4 stars for general office manner and the fact that he does listen fairly well.

Dr Chris has been a good doctor for me over the past 5 years. I haven’t had any major issues, but the practice is convenient, well run and Dr Chris is very responsive, calm and competent. I agree with the other poster that the charge for phoning in a prescription is annoying – they will mail you one for free however.

I love Dr. Z. Chris, located at the Washington Internist Group. He is very knowledgeable, understanding, and has been able to recommend good specialists for my needs. I have recommended him to other friends, and they have all raved about him.
I never had to wait in the office for very long, the staff is helpful, and I even saw some of the other doctors come out and personally greet their patients prior to appointments.
One caveat: Washington Internists Group’s billing office is a bit of a money-​grubbing set-​up. I have been billed for calling in to have a prescription faxed to my new pharmacy, after I started a new job. I have never heard of such a practice — getting billed for having a prescription faxed or mailed. Am I just being naïve? It seems rather stingy.
