Dr Sanders removed my gall bladder three days ago, When I found out i needed it removed i panicked because none of my friends could recommend a surgeon. I called two doctors that I knew, a gastro doctor and my pulmonologist and they both recommended Virginia Surgeons and confirmed that Dr Sanders was very good. So I felt confident going in to meet him. The office staff was efficient and I did not have to wait for my appointment! Dr Sanders was very personable, he did not rush our appointment discussing my surgery and when I continued to ask him questions, he actually drew a diagram explaining to me what the procedure would entail ect. He was extremely detailed in explaining to me what to expect and what could go wrong and the percentages of things going wrong. He was also very sensitive that I wanted my surgery done within the week because of family events going on. I live within walking distance to Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria but he said because of scheduling he much rather do the surgery at the Mount Vernon extension in Lorton. He said he really likes doing surgery there and it is a new facility. I had no problem driving to Lorton knowing Dr. Sanders liked to perform surgery there! The care I received at the Mount Vernon Lorton extension was awesome, I had so many nurses helping me through different phases of the two hour laparoscopic surgery. Dr Sanders came in on time to perform the surgery and shook my hand right before I went back to the OR. I would highly recommend Dr Sanders!

I found Dr. Sanders through a long and tedious search for the best-​rated surgeon in the area. If you’re going to cut me open, you’d better have some good reviews.
I am now happy to report that this dude has my approval. Dr. Sanders was kind, punctual and knowledgable.
The only reason I give him 4 stars out of 5 is because he actually had another doctor perform the surgery. Not sure what the deal is with that.
But I wouldn’t hesitate to see Dr. Sanders again for any problems that might arise.
His staff at the reception desk was super friendly and helpful as well. This was at the 1800 N. Beauregard St location in Alexandria.
Three cheers (and four stars) for Dr. Sanders!
