Highly recommend this company! Was able to call and get a next day appt to get our home re-​keyed! Got a call before to let me know the locksmith, Anthony was on his way. He was quick and was also able to fix our mailbox key as well. Definitely recommend if you every need any help with locks/​keys!

I think Anthony is some kind of magic worker. When I phoned, Michelle, too, said the magic words: «Would it be convenient for someone to come this afternoon?» Then Anthony showed up *exactly* on time. I left him to fix not only the two locks I’d called about but one that I noticed was acting up when he got here, and I went off to do some work, but it seemed like as soon as I got settled he was calling up the stairs to say he was done! These locks are now working so well that you can almost hear them clicking their heels and bowing as they welcome you in.
Dealing with lots of companies teaches one that «pros» don’t always behave professionally. This is one company that does.

This place is the BEST! We called Michelle late Thursday afternoon because our key was just not working in the front door lock — all from a telephone description of our lock, Michelle determined this was an «older than dirt» lock that was presently only manufactured by two key companies. It also came with a very hefty price tag to replace. Michelle gave us some hints to try to resurrect the old lock (involving WD-​40) to no avail. Luckily, she was able to slide us into a canceled appointment on Friday afternoon. Joe came out and determined our front door only needed a new cylinder, so he fixed that and the latch so that it would smoothly bolt when closed and provided us with as many keys as we needed to get our front door in business! Michelle was super clear about helping identify, possibly fix it ourselves first and then super flexible about getting someone over to look at the lock when everything else failed. Joe was prompt, super nice, informative, clean and efficient in assessing what we needed and making the actual repair.
Not having a key or a malfunctioning lock can be super stressful. Michelle & Joe, through their professionalism, went above and beyond the call of duty to make our key problem manageable, easy and ultimately, a quick fix. The Key Shack has made me a fan for life!

We call The Key Shack to fix a panic bar on an exit door of our business. Michelle called me right away to go over the details of when they would come, what it would cost, etc. Great customer service. After the appointment, she called to let me know the final price and the details of the job. Not used to such great service! I highly recommend them. Reward local businesses that do the job right!!!

The young guy is great. The gal is ‘all business’. Then there is this middle aged guy that stinks to high heaven of cigarettes, can’t wait to add on to add on’s and who not only charged over twice the price for a deadbolt of mfr’s recommended price, charged for installing it (at a rate of about $ 200/​hr) didn’t install the strike plate, just ground out the old one so it has a tiny wire left on the plate that wouldn’t stand any effort to kick in the door, and was just ‘all business’. I will be going to another locksmith from now on, if I’m going to get screwed, it ought to be at least from someone that doesn’t stink and is at least friendly.

Joe picked, fixed and rekeyed the iron fence gates at my house that were bashed in/​broken by previous owners.
It was not an easy/​standard job, but Joe rolled with it and got done what I wanted.
I intend to go back to key shack.

They really lived up to all the great reviews! Good service, on time. They fit us in as the last call on the same day we called, since they could tell we were in a pinch. The office even called back the next day to make sure everything worked! Really great experience all the way around.

Locked my keys inside of a cabinet. Yep. That’s the kind of thing I do. Took photos to a locksmith closer to where I live and they said they couldn’t rekey the lock because it was «foreign made» (aren’t most of them?) leaving me basically SOL. Found the Keyshack emailed them photos. It took a while to get a response, no bad thing, they are just super busy. They came out the next day and rekeyed the cabinet! Super fast, professional and affordable. And yeah, I have copies now!

If you need keys made or need to change locks or whatever, these guys are the ones to go to — hands down They are super fast, professional, friendly and have great prices too. Great job, and excellent customer service!

I have an old door buzzer system that failed. The first company I called said it could nt be fixed and tried to sell me an expensive new system. Key Shack then was called. They found the loose wire and fixed it in about 20 minutes. Prompt, courteous and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

I went there to copy my keys. They make it done within one minute. The new keys are very easy to use. And they used different colors which made it very easy to tell them apart.

Just can’t resist adding one more (unnecessary) rave for Key Shack. They have unfailingly been great, and I’ve used them over many years whenever I needed lock stuff done. I live in Richmond – no, dammit, Richmond is NOT a war zone, it’s a very pleasant place with an undeserved bad reputation and some crime problems like every other municipality in the Bay Area including Piedmont – and Key Shack is perfectly happy to drive from Albany to Richmond to help me out.
They’re superb in every way – reliable, über-​competent, nice, competitively priced. Why use anybody else unless you’re fifty miles away?

I needed 4 locks on 2 doors re-​keyed. I called Wednesday afternoon, hoping to get them to come on Thursday. No problem — the tech would be there between 9 & noon. I received a call at 9:45 that he was on the way, and he arrived around 10. The job was done within 30 minutes. I was charged exactly what I was quoted on the phone, and he even fixed a problem with one deadbolt not fully engaging; I had no clue.
I highly recommend them — very pleasant people as an added bonus.

Called them yesterday. Booked a visit for this afternoon. Called them again beforehand to clarify a few things. Got some advice and recommendations for avoiding being locked out by my toddler. Technician came on time, was courteous, professional and friendly.
Job Done. Don’t go anywhere else.

Had some keys for my apartment made here. They are soooo much better than the keys made at Home Depot! No more jiggling to get it open.

I have used this businesses services many times and I highly recommend them. The quality of service is excellent, there hours of operation are convenient and their prices are very reasonable.

The company I work for has used The Key Shack on a few occasions. We had our doors re-​keyed a while back and the company that had done that was going to charge us an arm and leg to fix a loose lock. So you know how sometimes you get a key made and it just doesn’t fit right. You start to jiggle, push, shove whatever. (Its not as fun as it sounds.) I’ve only had this happen to me a few times but never when I get my keys made here. A few years back a landlord introduced me to this place. She swore by it and now I do too. It’s not the most convenient locksmith to me but once I get there I can usually just pull up in front where there is enough space for a few cars.
