Established in 1995.

Owner Haim Levi says his old world charm and creative craftsmanship have endeared him to The Glass Man’s broad clientele base, which includes homeowners, property managers, contractors, realtors and more. Mr. Levi has more than 20 years of experience installing and repairing glass, mirrors and windows, and he says his wealth of industry knowledge allows him to accommodate clients’ schedules and ensure each job meets his high standards for quality.

I called the Glass Man at 8:30 this morning to replace a section of my window that was cracked. By noon Jamie had the old piece removed and the new section in. The work is done perfectly, Jamie was awesome, as was the guy I spoke with on the phone. I chose The Glass Man because they were close by and locally-​based in Alameda where I live. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and would be happy to work with them again in the future. Thank you!

The Glass Man installed a very rigid and great quality commercial glass front door at our business about 7 years ago. Just last year, we had them install another one at a different location. Both top notch quality work and great price points. I tend to be very picky about where we pass out repeat business but the Glass Man deserves it.

These peoples prices are outrageous and their business practices are very questionable! I had a window repaired by these guys that was a warranty job (a widow they had installed the year before split). They agreed to replace the window if I paid for the glass (about $ 200). The bill they sent for the job was over $ 800 minus $ 250 for the glass which they said they were paying for. The exact opposite of what they said. When I called to discuss the bill they denied ever agreeing to provide the labor. I told them I could have installed a new window for the price they charged me. They said there was nothing they could do about it and that it was alot of work to install glass. So I called an other company for a quote for the same job. That glass company said they would do it for about $ 160.
Boy do I feel stupid! My advice is do not even think of using the glass man in Alameda.

If i could give zero I would. A replacement mirror cost $ 60.00. The actual mirror costs $ 10.00 however they charged another $ 50.00 for labor charges of putting the mirror in, and the item back togehter. I went to pick up my item. They put it back in the box for me… I took it home, took it out of the box only to find out they didnt put the item back together after putting the new mirror in. Since the item was heavy I didnt want to deal with bringing it back, so I tried to put it back together myself… only to find out they stripped the screw holes. this pissed me off. They did not mention anything to me about this and nor did they try to offer me compensation. I will never return and hopefully no one else will go here since their service sucks! Go to the glass company in Oakland. Way better prices and services!

I’m sure these people do great work, but their quote for re-​glazing 2 large windows was insane! Economy Lumber recommended them for re-​glazing; quote was over $ 4000 for 2 8′ x 3′ insul. glass, ½ story up, no big deal to do, we were just trying to save the old frames. SO, instead, we ordered vinyl new windows from Economy, $ 450 for the pair! Install took ½ day, tearing out the old, about $ 500 labor w/​Rent-​a-​Hector. UNDER $ 1000 instead of $ 4000? C’mon, is there no competition in California? I winter here, from MINN, this is stuff we DIY every day… Glassman must have a kid in college!

It was hard to fine a place to put glass into my new cabinet doors. But then I found The Glass Man. I was totally happy. They are very efficient, open early and at lunch time for convenient drop off. Reasonable prices. Because of them I got to save by buying Ikea cabinets for my kitchen remodel, yet not have to live with the stupid frosted glass Ikea chose to include.

Not recommended for quality polycarbonate fabrication.
Presented us with rough and sharp edged unfinished product.
Even broken where they drilled holes in the fabrication.
Had to send back to the shop to smooth off.
Told us polycarbonate was difficult to work with and its not what they like to do.
Did not make the deadline they agreed they would, so had to return the following day.
At least they discounted the price of their sub standard work.

I never realized how hard it is to get a house window replaced until some punk kids decided it would be fun to celebrate the end of school by breaking the 5 foot x 5 foot window pane in the front of our house.
After the police took the report and left (not much they could do), they told me to get an estimate for repairing the window. Sounded easy, but it wasn’t. Do a web search for ‘glass replacement’ and you’re set if you need to replace a car window, but it was really difficult to track down someone who could come replace our window that day. A lot of places didn’t call back, some called back the next day, but The Glass Man totally delivered.
They came by to take measurements within the hour, went to go pick up the glass, then came back. They were efficient, cleaned up after themselves, and were polite and friendly. They were also mindful of our 1-year-old’s safety while they worked. And, they were affordble.
Too bad they can’t get Seinfeldian ‘GLASSMAN’ license plates for their trucks.
