This is a really cozy beautiful place on central. Perfect place to go for threading and massage. I first went there when they first opened 3 years ago and I just fell in love with this place. Along with amazing, friendly employees, this place has perfect service. I always get my eyebrows done here and they often have promotions on a variety of services like waxing, threading and massage. Sanuska is my favorite. She never disappoints me with my eyebrows threading. I always walk out of here happy and satisfied. Really they have great threaders and sweetheart Owner. You should definitely try this place to see for yourself. Trust me! You will fall in as much love as I do.

Great place to get your eyebrows threaded. Atmosphere is very calming, comfortable chairs, and soft playing music. Staff is very friendly, attentive, and precise. I usually go on Mondays and I’ve always been satisfied.

I first came to ploy Thai spa when they first open to do my threading and I absolutely loved it. I hate waxing my brows and ploy Thai is a perfect place to get my eye brows threaded. Mimi is the owner and she is a sweet heart. She makes sure her clients are satisfied which I really like because most places don’t care! Mimi has great ladies working for her they are all so nice and welcoming. I only let Sanuska do my eye brows because she does it so nicely and gently. She gives me the shape and arch that I want without telling her and I trust her with my brows. The prices are very descent! A++++++ for the place, price and the Employees.

I went to this place twice and they did a great job on my eye brows. I am happy to find a place that does threading rather than wax.

Mimi was very attentive when I told her I just want a clean up and to make them more symmetrical. She did exactly what I asked for!
Will definitely be coming back to see her.

If I could give this no stars I would. The lady completely butchered my eyebrows and left it worse than it has looked in 4 years. I am well known for having great eyebrows however this place just completely FUCKED me. There’s no other words to put it in. I look like a 60 year old hooker who draws her eyebrows in with eyeliner. My eyebrows look like a rainbow. I am disgusted with the way the lady treated me even though its customers like me who pay her rent for the shitty service they give to their customers. Never coming back to this place.

I am normally a lurker on Unilocal but I felt compelled to write a glowing review. I studied Thai massage in Thailand and I am extremely picky since I know what is a good Thai massage. I am happy to finally find my «go to» spa which is Ploy Thai! My massage therapist, Pui, was amazing. I felt like I was transported back to Chiang Mai. I have been really stressed out with work and my shoulders and back were tight, but this Thai massage was exactly what I needed. Now I feel sooo relaxed. Ahh! Thank you, Pui! :) I should also mention that I love their threading, too.

This is my brow place! I love getting my eyebrows threaded here. They always do a good job. I have a very high pain tolerance, so it doesn’t hurt. I prefer it over waxing because I have sensitive skin. Also there is more control with threading, which I like. The girls that do the brows are very attentive and always ask what you want for shape.

I come here to get my eyebrows and upper lip threaded. Mimi is great and always does a really thorough job. I’ve also had a Thai massage before and it was awesome. Overall, the facility is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend it!

ok, did they change the girl who does threading? Today the service was not good as I used to get: slow motions and that’s why more painfully; not very satisfied with the result :(I think she is still learning, but please not on me. Won’t come back to this new girl:(

So glad I finally stopped by to do a threading eyebrow and upper lip. First time here and will definitely go back. $ 13 for the service and Bishnu did an awesome job. I’ve been getting my eyebrows threaded for years and for some reason hers wasn’t as painful as they’ve been. Sweet lady and loved that she gave a quick massage as she put lotion on my brows.

I’ve been here many times and have only been satisfied once. The girl who threaded my brows nicely usually works Monday, Wednesdays, & Thursday’s. I can’t remember her name! Everyone else doesn’t give a shit about your brows. They don’t arch it properly and the hairs grow back within a few days. (I assume there’s a technique to threading where you’re pulling the hair & its follicle out, rather than just snapping the hair in half. Trust me, I’ve been to every threading spot.)
I’ve also received a facial here. Man. It was HORRIBLE!!! The woman just rubbed all this crap on my fax for the entire hour!!! No extractions!!! And I need extractions on this face!!! I couldn’t believe it. I looked in the mirror afterwards and saw that she clogged all my pores with whatever product she used. For gods sake, she was massage my face like I was a piece of Kobe beef.
Anyway, I had to go home and extract myself!!!
Threading is just mediocre & facials are horrendous.

This place is really amazing. The service is really good and the lady knows what she’s doing. I went in here one day to get my eyebrows and upper lip threaded for the 1^st time and it turned out great. They also do massages, waxing and mani’s & pedi’s. I would for this place a try if you need to get your eyebrows done. The price isn’t too bad either. The upper lip and eyebrow combo is only $ 13 !

It’s been over a year since I’ve gotten a massage and facial. I’ve never found the time to ever treat myself.
Memie, is awesome, very friendly… Her staff is very friendly and welcoming. My whole back, shoulders, and neck needed work badly… she suggested thai massage. Never going back to a normal massage ever again. I feel like butter!
She also did a rejuvenating facial. The products smelled sooo good. And her facial massage is well worth it! I felt spoiled. I’ve never felt soo relaxed.
Price: it’s is worth more than what you pay for. Going back again for massage and facial.

I know most people wax, but I prefer threading because it causes less wrinkles (seriously!). Mimi was absolutely amazing. She’s very meticulous and makes sure to pay attention to detail. She’ll ask along the way if the shape is ok. For $ 13 you get brows + upper lip, a steal in the bay area!

Omg I am addicted to her thai massages.
I am churned to butter every time I am worked on by her and leave feeling like a refreshed new person.
So so so amazing and so worth it.
Can’t wait to go back, every time I leave and so sad to go every time the massage is over.

Attention To my fellow ladies, I’ve only came in here one time and let me tell you that after all the good reviews I’ve read in here I am completely D I S S A P O I N T E D. For threading; this place is only good for if you want your eyebrows cleaned, but if you want them Shaped or Arched, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. They will ruin it for you.
Early morning at 10 AM right when they opened I called and set up an appointment for 11:30. I arrived there right on time. Right when I walked in, I wasn’t greeted, I was greeted with a girl yawning in my face. I sat down as there were a couple girls that came in first and not once did she ask me if I needed help. (bad customer service) I had to walk to the desk and said «Hi my name is Katy I have an appointment at…» and I was completely cut off and she said «yeah I know. take a seat over there» ARE YOU KIDDING?
Here’s where it gets worse, I am a girl with thick eyebrows that is SOO easy to work with especially that I grew it out to make my arch higher. (I grew it for about 2 months) I get my eyebrows done All the time and I know exactly how I want it and boy it is not hard. I showed her pictures of my past eyebrows, keep note that it’s not from google. They were from my real pictures. The girl who didn’t have no type of customer service at the desk was the one who did my eyebrows too. I said «Keep the thickness, I want my arch to be higher» and she said, «k».
As she was doing my eyebrows I know that she was doing it WRONG when she started threading, as a girl who gets her eyebrows done for YEARS now there’s a certain weight on the thread youll get and know. She did my right eyebrows SO THIN and left me with a bald spot on top of my right eyebrow that she said was there already. I grew out my eyebrows my two months, and my eyebrows are Thick, there are no bald spots!!! After I told her that she messed up my eyebrows there were no apologies, I was so pissed off that I told her to keep doing what she was doing. This girl who worked there came up to me and did admit that girl # 1 (rude girl at the desk was wrong) and she started talking in their language. girl #2 said «You come back next time we’ll fix again, you grow it out again»
I will never come back to this place ever again. Bad customer service, bad with threading eyebrows, Management should hire better employees that will provide them good business. To much mediocre employees for a beautiful Shop.

This place is definitely a gem .
I have some past sports injuries that have been catching up with me, the worst of which was a shoulder issue that was really impacting my mobility. My doctor suggested I give massage a try in addition to mobility exercises. After trying different places and styles, i finally decided to give this place a go.
The first time I did the 60 minute thai massage sans the secret herbs and spices and the next day I noticed a HUGE difference in my shoulder mobility. Yay for less pain! Plus i think the price is fantastic, considering that I’ve paid close to twice as much for a massage that ended up not doing much for my shoulder issue
This time i did the massage again with the herbs and spices and they smell so good and definitely helped with relaxing the muscle. I also got the threading which I would highly recommend and will go back to get.
I havent tried any of the other services like mani/​pedi or facial but i probably will in the future
So TL;DR: This place is fantastic for athletes working with mobility issues and women who want their eyebrows and upper lip to look less like a mountain man and more like a cute girl.

Great price for the eyebrow and upper lip combo — $ 13. Quick service and great shaping. I am glad to have found a place in Alameda that does threading! I was going to wax since I was already here, but they were unable to accommodate me because the waxing lady was completely booked. Appointments recommended for services beyond brows.

I found a new threading place in alameda! I used to drive to Berkeley to get my brows threaded. I came here on a Friday evening at 6:30pm the girl took me in and they were about to close. The girl took her time, probably about 20 minutes to do the threading for lip and brow. I like how she took her time because some places will do the threading really fast and don’t focus on what the client wants.
They had a brow and lip special for $ 13. Not bad at all. I will definitely come back. So glad I found this place.
