Nice apartments.
The smell in the building is real bad
Takes too much time till the maintance take care of problems in the apartments.
The staff from the managment never answers on the phone. Never return phone calls.
They are very nice when you sign, after that you dont exist.

I moved-​in April 2015.
Resident «quality» is going down fast… they don’t care about keeping their pets from peeing or pooping in the hallways and parking garage. They don’t pick up their poop with the plastic bags that are provided in the park.
I actually found a crack pipe within the apartment community if that tells you anything about the type of people moving into these apartments.
There have been several break-​ins that I have heard of, of apartments and cars, and the fire alarms have gone off 2 or 3 times, just since I moved in in April.
Noise is a problem if living somewhere with outdoor courtyard or pool views. People don’t keep quiet after the areas «close» at 10/​11pm.
Noise inside apartment is normal apartment noise… can hear phone vibrating in apartment above me. Can hear footsteps from upstairs AND from the hallways (my floor and the floor above).
Parking garage gate is constantly breaking and allowing cars to move in and out freely. The speed bumps entering/​exiting the garage are a pain– something I didn’t notice when touring.
The door beepers are often broken, either not letting you in at all (even if you use your beeper), or remaining completely unlocked, allowing anyone to enter.
The call boxes at the glass entrances were broken for a solid 2 months right after I moved in.
No security cameras around exits doors or in parking garage. Lights in parking garage have been out on several occasions.
Maintenance is absolutely great– get most requests done next business day. They give you the option to select exactly what the problem is, and even a section to explain in more detail.
Online payment option is convenient.
Package receiving is nice and convenient, but the office closes at 6pm M-​F.
Indoor hallways are nice and remain heated/​cooled depending on the season– but they don’t vacuum nearly enough.
The gym is really nice and seems to never really be packed.
Great quiet location, with the park surrounding the apartments, but I’ve heard there might be construction in the near future for more buildings.
I will be moving out this month and not renewing my lease. The final decision factor of that being they were going to raise my rent over $ 100/​month for an already overpriced 1 bedroom apt. My experience is far from what my first look gave. Great first impression. Downhill quickly after that.

I’ve been at Savoye for 4 years. The property has gone down down down hill. There is always garbage in the elevators and common areas, to the point I check the elevators and hallway before I invite anyone over because it’s embarrassing. There has been dog fecese in the elevator for 2 days now. The front office is not even worth trying to talk to, they won’t look at you while speaking. Needless to say I won’t be resigning my lease.. The walking trails are beautiful and the Christmas lights are pretty but It comes with tons of traffic and NO parking for residents, regardless of what you’re told the «secure» parking is always broken.
It’s also extremely difficult to end your lease.
These apartments are like a cheap hooker in a fancy dress.

After living in my own house for 12 years, in 2012 I decided to sell my house and move into The Savoye. That was over 3 ½ years ago. It’s been a great decision. The lifestyle is easy for me – my office is seven minutes away and I can get to DFW International Airport easily for my almost weekly business trips around the country. My rent at The Savoye is half of what my mortgage was and I certainly enjoy not having mortgage debt, annual property taxes, and all the other headaches and surprise expenses of the supposed American Dream of home ownership. The money and PITAs I’ve saved over the years by moving out of a house and into The Savoye have been huge.
Sure, I’ve had some problems at The Savoye over the years, but certainly no problems big enough to whine and blame-​complain about like others have done so dramatically here on Unilocal.The Savoye is a big apartment complex set amidst a public park and two bars serving alcohol to sports fans of all ages in a big city made up of millions of hugely diverse people with thousands more moving in from around the country every year. Surprise! We’re going to often hear a neighbor’s loud music, talking, or walking; occasionally hear a bunch of drunks yelling and screaming at each other as they leave the bars at 2 AM; and sometimes deal with some undesirable people in the park or on the property. This isn’t boring, sleepy, safe Zurich, Switzerland. This is fast-​growing Dallas, Texas in the good ol’ US of A. What exactly did we expect?
Anyway, all these complain-​able kinds of things are much worse in Chicago or New York City than they are at The Savoye in richie-​rich North Dallas. We’d all be paying a lot more in rent, city fees, and state income taxes in Chicago or New York City than we are here at The Savoye. Plus, in those cities, we’d be hearing police/​ambulance sirens all the time and taxi drivers honking incessantly right outside our windows. Let’s not even mention all the foul, cold weather for months on end up there. Let’s count our blessings that we live in The Savoye in North Dallas where the living is pretty darn easy, the rent is relatively cheap, and the A/​C works well even when it’s 105 F outside in Summer. Yes, The Savoye undeniably has its problems just like any other large apartment complex, it’s true, but in the bigger scheme of things, many of the complaints about The Savoye here on Unilocal are small when put into the greater context of life and living. Oh no! — One of the Starbucks coffee machines pumping out FREE coffee to us every day is «Out Of Order» for two days straight — how will we survive??? You get the idea.
In short, if you’re considering moving into The Savoye, understand what you’re getting into, keep your expectations realistic, take problems in stride, and enjoy the beautiful amenities, the friendly Texas people, the relatively low cost of living, and the great value of what you get for the relatively little that you’re paying. In so many ways, it beats home ownership. Come 2016 I’ll have been here at The Savoye for four years. So far, so good.

I have enjoyed my time living at Savoye apartments and I’m more than happy that this is the place that I have called home for the past 2 years. Even though I had to have my dishwasher and garbage disposal looked at multiple times throughout my time there, the maintenance men were always there the next day to fix it. The response time is quick and efficient. The UDR portal was such a great tool to be able to connect with the community there as well as a way for the management team to communicate with the residents. The management team was great at communicating if there was going to be any construction going on, elevators down, etc. The staff is incredibly friendly. Like any business, when there is turnover and staff and there are some people that can affect the the business, there are times of frustration. I experienced this for a couple months but I believe that they changed that instantly. Iwona, the new community director there is amazing at what she does. You can tell that she really cares. Living there felt like I was back on my college campus. I would always see someone I knew when walking around or when at the workout center. I even met 2 of my very best friends there and my boyfriend :). I did wish there were more community events for only residents however, you can’t beat all of the events that they held at Vitruvian Park. The concerts, salsa dance nights, Addison house events, were phenomenal. If you are looking for a place to live, I recommend Savoye 100%. Get involved and meet people. It’s worth it!

Excellent place to live in. I have been living here since February 2014 and I certainly recommend this place to anyone who likes the Addison area. They have fantastic customer service, great staff and fast maintenance cover up.

I have lived in Savoye Squared for almost 2 years now and I am not impressed with the build quality in the non-​towers. There are two towers which are constructed of steel and concrete which is great for noise insulation, however, the rest of the complex is constructed of wood and poor insulation. You tend to hear anything above a normal sound level (walking, music, TV, etc…).
Also, the halls are very long and depending on where your apartment is located is a very long walk to the parking garage and especially the trash chutes! There are only two locations for the trash chutes which are inconveniently placed.
The management, overall is pretty decent and helpful. Maintenance requests can sometimes take a few days to be completed, which is irritating depending on the severity of the issue.
Conclusion:
For the price and location I would expect better construction quality. The halls are long and the trash chutes are inconveniently located. I guesstimate the demographic to be within the age range of mid 20’s to late 30’s and the general income being in the low 30k’s to about 50k.

We lived here during our first year of marriage. Carolyn, the manager was very nice and did a good job keeping the property up! This community is second to none in Dallas. I don’t think many other properties can compete with such luxury!

It’s a great complex. Having lived for almost 2 years I hardly remember any time their were big problems. The management is good.
4 stars only because you can hear your neighbors stomping. The management helps if you complaint.
I highly recommend if you are looking in the area.

GARBAGE. Smells like garbage, sounds like dumpsters.
Why avoid this place like the plague?
First, they tried to retract an offer of a free month’s rent at the beginning of my stay there. I was told (to get me in) that this promotion was valid. Then, when it came time to sign the lease, the offer was retracted. It was eventually given to me, but I had to escalate the matter. False advertising.
Second, they charged me a late fee on rent when their payment website was directing people to the wrong place. It is still doing it, weeks after I pointed it out (for Savoye 2 ⁷⁄₂₂).

. Then, they refused to refund the late fee and did not return any phone calls.
Third, they threatened me with continued rent charges after I turned in my keys.
Fourth, they refused to refund my deposit stating that the carpet needed complete replacement. The carpet was not shampooed or cleaned, just replaced. They said it was because of excessive pet hair. I can attest that this was completely unnecessary. They collected a non-​refundable pet deposit from me for matters like this, then stole the rest of my deposit. I have a 7 pound cat that is declawed, so if you have a pet that sheds at all, prepare to LOSE YOUR ENTIRE DEPOSIT.
Fifth, the place SMELLS LIKE TRASH ALL THE TIME.
Sixth, the place is loud as hell. Especially if you are lucky enough to live in one of the towers facing the other tower. PREPARE TO BE SERENADED BY DUMPSTERS TWICE A WEEK (it goes on for hours)!!! Prepare to be woken up by gangsta rap echoing throughout the complex as well. I could literally hear people’s music and in-​car conversations in my apartment.
I hope this review has dissuaded you from signing a lease here, as doing so was one of the biggest mistakes of my life.

So we have lived at Savoye 2 for just over a year (renewed annual lease about a month ago). As with all apartments, it has it’s pros and cons.
The Cons:
1) Your neighbors: Being that the complex is upscale, the tenants are mostly arrogant, and entitled. If you smile and say «Good morning» in passing, they will act as if they didn’t hear you. Of course you can find some very nice people (mostly the early morning gym goers). However, there are many young 20-​somethings that have obviously never really put in an honest days work. The most annoying run in was the neighbor that allowed his/​her dog to defecate in the hallway or urinate in the elevator, and left it… on multiple occasions… for someone else to clean. This happened maximum of 5 times over the period of about a month, and then stopped.
2) Thursday nights: Thursday nights during the summer and up through December, the amphitheater holds concert series, and there are food trucks… definitely an awesome thing overall. Unless you live in the units right next to the amphitheater, or even close to that side of the building. We live in the center of the complex, and can hear it loud an clear from our unit. A friend lives facing the amphitheater, and the music plays until at least 10 – 11 those nights, and is loud enough to rattle her windows. If you have to work early on Friday, it’s not the best situation. However, the venues overall are a major pro for the facility.
3) Package delivery: The front desk collects UPS and FedEx packages and is supposed to text or email when you get a new package. There have been at least three instances where we were NOT notified. We contacted the suppliers and the delivery to be told they had been delivered. As a last resort, we ask to check if any packages have arrived and sure enough they had. We learned to track our orders on our own, and not wait for a notification after three instances.
4) The speed bumps in the garage… HATE them.
5) Lack of retail: So I understand they are still relatively new, but the «potential» for retail on the ground floor was a big reason we moved here. It seems like it’s developing much more slowly that they expected. We were supposed to have a market on the ground floor by the spring, but it is not July and nothing has even started developing there. There is a bar, and there used to be a restaurant/​bar that closed. We also have a doggie day care now… so it is developing… just VERY slowly.
6) When we first moved in, the service had MUCH to be desired. They were essentially non-​responsive to questions we had. Additionally, on move in day, you are supposed to be given access to the freight elevator for at least 2 hours. Because some snotty neighbor (see #1) didn’t want to use the stairs, or walk to the other side of the complex to use that elevator, he complained to the management, who then came and took the elevator off of freight. What would have taken us two hours to unload, then took us a couple days to gradually take one thing up at a time. That being said, the management has become MUCH more responsive, and they are usually much more accessible than when we first moved in.
The Pros:
1) The units are beautiful. Seriously. I couldn’t be happier with the apartment itself. Minimal noise issues (although you will hear a neighbor from time to time, but we have had no major issues), never a problem with appliances or heating/​cooling.
2) Maintenance: Schedule and appointment online, let them know what needs to be done… simple as that. They are very fast and respond without issue.
3) The amenities: Particularly the gym. TONS of cardio equipment and really everything you need for lifting (free weights and several machine options). It is definitely the best apartment gym I have ever seen. They also have gas grills dotted throughout the complex, amazing pools, fire pits etc. The rent is high, but if you use the amenities, it beats any other complex in the same price bracket. I was paying over $ 300/​yr for my gym membership at it’s base. That in and of itself was worth it to me.
4) The location: Addison is fantastic, and I feel completely safe in the area. You’re very close to Belt Line, tons of restaurants, grocery stores, shopping… seriously so much stuff going on. We can even see Addison’s Kaboom Town from our balcony! You also have very easy access to 635 and the DNT.
5) Parking garage: Secure covered parking allowing you to park on your floor. No need to take the elevator or the stairs… I still hate the speed bumps, though.
6) Free high-​def LG TV in the unit. Nuf said.
7) Vitruvian park: Amazing for just taking a walk, going to the MANY venues they hold, sand volleyball, great dog parks etc in your backyard.
8) Vitruvian Lights: Seriously, lights EVERYWHERE. Definitely puts you in the holiday spirit. Plus you live in the best decorated place in the city.
9) Very alternative lifestyle friendly. We have never had a single issue
While it isn’t perfect, we love it here!

Lived here for two years. My first unit was great but after the first year they raise the rent from $ 1200 to $ 1400 so I switched units. The unit I got was in the corridor between Ponte avenue and the garage (Savoye Squared). To all future residents, AVOID this area. Because the corridor is between two buildings, every sound is amplified and echoed. From garbage trucks emptying trash, truck backup signals, to neighbors talking. So when it was time for my lease to end. I had replied to a renewal letter from a person in the leasing office letting them know I will not be renewing. This came 6 days after my 60 day notification deadline. That person did not make note of it and when it was time for me to move out, another person at the leasing office tried to tell me I never gave notice. On top of that she said I was responsible for 60 days of rent month to month which came out to be over $ 4k. Even after I told her I gave notice she gave me little sympathy. I actually think she enjoyed hearing how upset I was. She also lied and said my email was not valid and I had to go up there in person and give a written letter to vacate. I had to search through my emails, print it out, bring it to the leasing office and show them I gave them notice. The person who helped me was very helpful and didn’t seem to have any problems with my notice by email. While I was showing her, the lady I spoke with the day before (the one who lied to me), asked her who I sent it to so she could get proof. She was listening to our whole conversation from her desk. I don’t know what her problem was and why she wanted to get me for 60 days of rent. I’ve been a good tenant here for two years. It seems like they are friendly when you move in but when its time for you to move out, they try to get you for everything they can. On top of that, they were supposed to give me written notice 5 days before my 60 day deadline. I didn’t get notice until 6 days afterwards so I ended up being responsible for $ 300+ in rent. I tried to fight it but they weren’t having it. They said there was a notice to renew when I went to the portal to pay my rent. I dont think that is a valid notice to let me know I had 60 days before they would hold me liable for anything past that 60 days of notice to vacate. So be careful when dealing with these people. They are shady AF!

So unprofessional. Called to make an appointment. Drove an hour to the leasing office, made it at 4:02 when our appointment was at 4:00, and we were asked to wait «25 – 30 minutes» because we were «late» and the guy was with a walk-​in.
We didn’t wait and they didn’t apologize. If they can’t keep their word with a simple appointment then I can’t imagine trying to communicate my living situation to people with absurdly low standards.

the response to my review by UDR is laughable. Obviously you did not take my complaints seriously and did not take appropriate action. complaints 2−6x /​month for almost a year and multiple calls to Addison Police and still nothing until the day I turn in my intent to leave. THEN Savoye offers to move me into a new apartment…
I’m sure not everyone will have awful neighbors, which is why I initially gave Savoye 2 stars, but if you do, management will be of NO help.

Funny how this facility collectively bred a prostitution ring in such a wonderful town of Addison — which was recently identified and had low press. It is pathetic that the guidelines are set so low to allow neighbors with questionable pasts to live in this «luxury» ghetto community. That is just the icing on the cake. Now there will be soon a place to wine, dine and rent a room with a Addison escort. Paradise on the North side. Enjoying my Frisco home and look forward to several of my Savoye friends to join me!

Yes, this place is really pretty. Yes, the amenties are flashy and look great on the surface. However, even this apartment suffers from huge faults.
1. The shiney starbucks machines look cool. However, did you know half the time I use it the machine is out of something such as cups or «needs maintenance»? … and I already rarely use it to begin with so its a really random sample so I conclude it is usually not working for me.
2. Service requests are handled pretty quickly by the maintenance staff. However, that is the ONLY part that is quick in this building.
It has taken me at least 3 months… THREE FREAKING MONTHS for my renewal paperwork to be signed by someone in the leasing office. I have signed my renewal already and it is is STILL in the queue somewhere to the point that I have no idea what will happen when my lease lapses or renewals. I have 1) called multiple times 2) visited the office multiple times through the 3 months 3) sent emails to the director and leasing 4) spoken to the sales staff. This is unbelievably bad customer service levels since I have not had a return call or return email that I do not know what to do. The sales staff is nice, but they are sales not operations so they cannot resolve the problem when I speak to them
So think about that for a moment, I am trying to give them money, and they are still fumbling around unable to make it happen.
3. The provided PCs and Printers are nice. But not sure if its just overuse or what, but the Apple mice and keyboards run out of batteries frequently. On occasion of the 3 desktops, I see only 1 working unit at the S2 PC center. It is rare when all 3 PCs are working. Even rarer is that the only time I wanted to use a printer, the print server was down like a week. It eventually was fixed and I got to print, but why’d it take so long?
4. The gym is nice enough for an apt gym. Weights are 0 – 50 and there is enough running machines to get a decent workout.
5. Amentity reservations are sometimes hard to reserve. Often times you’d need a month or more to reserve one of the cool rooms to use. The amenties are nice, but be prepared to wait to use it on weekends or a time you really want.
6. Walls are very thin. Walking through the halls you can ear music and whatever is going on in the apartments. As for the person above you, I guarantee you, you will definitly hear them stepping around. Sometimes you get unlucky and the apartment above you has a person that wears heels for hours before work. Yes… I can hear every step that person makes in heels. It is quite frustrating.
7. Trash and water: Water efficiency is good. the shower has low flow and generally you save water. I still havent had an eletric bill above $ 31, even in the summer time, the place is very efficient. However the trash bill is quite intersting. Reread the contract, it says a charge «Up to $ 20 for trash». In business terms, you will get charged the full $ 20 every month for trash…
Please heed Kyle H’s advice and reread point number 2. The non maintenance support staff is EXTREMELY unresponsive. I have no idea why, either through sheer volume or lack of workers. I cant get them to respond at all, do you know how frustrating that is?

I lived at Savoye for nealy 3 years. I was one of the first residents. When I went to sign up for a new place at Savoye with my new wife, we left a deposit up for a unit «site unseen.» The unit floorplan and what I had experienced at Savoye seemed enough to make a commitment. When we finally got to see the unit, it was a massive disappointment as there was a major structural column running through the living room. This was not reflected in the floorplan and not mentioned by our sales guy. There was no place to fit my couch! The bedroom had the same kind of issue with the column. We immediately told them that this was not going to work and we needed to see what other options there were… we were shown a unit at Savoye squared for 700 a month more. That was a bit unreasonable in price so we decided to find a place elsewhere. When we asked for the deposit back they said no. After some discussion, they decided to let us have one third of the deposit back. I am very disappointed with this as I feel that they didn’t deliver the promise that they made about the apartment. It was not the one in the floorplan and we were not warned about it… as if they didn’t know that the column was there!!! And as of today I still have not received the part of the deposit that they said they were going to refund! This is not the way to conduct business and I find this disgusting. Why do they think that they are entitled to that deposit money?
DON’T MOVE HERE!!! DECEPTIVE BUSINESSES DO NOT DESERVE YOUR MONEY!!!

I no longer live at Savoye as I left Dallas a few months back to take a job elsewhere. With that said, I am much happier at my ‘ordinary’ new apartment than I ever was at Savoye.
When I first moved to Savoye I was taken aback by all of the amenities, something they are very proud of (and rightly so). The staff comes across as friendly and accommodating, and the units are pristine. But the moment you sign a lease all of that changes. It’s very evident that the office staff are there to make commission off of signing leases rather than taking care of their current residents. On one instance I had to sit an wait over an hour just to talk to staff member.
During my time at Savoye a new building across the street (Savoye Squared) opened and another was being constructed. Over the course of the next few months I noticed that the parking lot was constantly full, amenities were packed and often vandalized, and the general noise level was increased. To add to the problem, they got rid of the onsite security guard, LeRoy, who was a great asset to the complex. After they forced him to monitor the construction site instead, I would often find trash, vandalized property and empty alcohol bottles all over the complex. It’s fairly obvious that people who do not live in Savoye sneak into the complex and use (and also do not respect) the property, yet the management does nothing to prevent it.
The units are very nice (albeit small) and the bills are low as the building is energy efficient. I never felt unsafe at Savoye and the location is very convenient. They do a good job at having social events, specifically food truck night on Thursday night (D/FW’s best food trucks line up on the bridge by the complex, it’s a pretty neat event).
Overall, I think there are better places to live in the Addison area. Don’t be fooled by the amenities. Although they are impressive they are not worth the money, and the staff makes you feel like just a number.

Ive lived at several places, more than I should have, since I have been dissapointed by several apt communities/​buildings.
I just moved to The Savoye in Addison, TX… From the very beginning I have gotten excellent service and communication. If you go look there, ask for Ben Perry-972−467−4755 to show you an apt.
The quality of these places are excellent, they are the best apartments in Addison, and I think even better then most in Uptown/​Downtown Dallas. I lived in a downtown high rise but The Savoye is even nicer and offers much more. My utility bill at Allegro in Addison was an avg of $ 150−180/month, my first full month of utilities at The Savoye was $ 43 for a full 30 day bill (and the cost difference isnt from using a diff company or plan).
Carolyn Fredholm is the community director and has an excellent team at The Savoye. Brant, Ben, Whitney, Katie (the 24×7 concierge), and rest of the team are great. The building has fantastic ammenities, and a great buildout. I had a minor work order/​service call put in and it was taken care of immediately.
I plan on living here for a couple years and another lease term… I really enjoy coming home to a comfortable and great looking apartment. The online web application (s) to pay rent, bills, etc is pretty slick too. They use RealPage’s online web apps/​software that makes your life so much easier (no online payment fees either; when paying by check or checking account). Two thumbs up for the Savoye in Addison, TX and UDR properties.
